[battlemap] House Orien Enclave

House Orien is one of Khorvaire's most powerful Dragonmarked Houses whose industry revolves around the transport of people, goods, and services. Citizens of the Five Nations use House Orien for courier services and passenger services.

Enclaves are the regional office hubs where the house administrates and coordinates business. Each enclave is led by a Seneschal. (You can think of seneschals as 'regional directors' appointed by the Baron of the House) The typical citizen may visit the enclave for its postal services, sending packages, picking up packages, resolving lost or damaged packages, buying passenger tickets for coaches, the lightning rail, or teleport circle, resolving grievances with House services, or pitching business partnerships.

This particular enclave battlemap may be used in any city except Sharn where there is a higher urban density with sparse vegetation. In my Eberron, the Sharn Orien Enclave is also Terminus Station.

Ideas for using this map...

  • Meeting an Orien agent
  • Meeting the Enclave Seneschal
  • Using the courier/postal services
  • Executing a heist
  • Using the Teleport Circle
  • Buying passenger tickets (lightning rail/passenger coaches)
  • Going on a facilities tour
  • Investigating suspicious activity
  • ...or simply looking for trouble

Special note: The centerpiece of this enclave is a large unicorn statue which is surrounded by floating conductor stones which provide vertical lift to and from the second floor for visitors and occupants with a soarsled-like platform.

This is a 30x30 map with a 5ft scale.

Sharn's Welcome...a place for visitors looking for a good time

Raucous sailors looking for a good time stumble through the puddled streets of Sharn's Welcome, the City of Tower's riverside red-light district.

Crime is rampant here only because the inebriated visitors make easy targets for pick pockets and robbers.

This battlemap is a street view of a neighborhood district at the base of the cliffs closer to the Daggerhilt River. Red glowing everbright lamps illuminate seedy pubs and bordellos lining the old stone streets. Back alleys lead to short-stay inn rooms and hole-in-the-wall gambling parlors, and in the southeast part of the neighboorhood among the back alley pawnshops, one can find stone stairs carved into the cliff walls leading upwards to where the rest of the Sharn's Welcome district sits in the lower ward of Cliffside.

The map is 30x40 using 5 foot grids

[battlemap] Lyrandar airship docks in Sharn

For the longest time (...years...) I just theater-of-the-mind'd this location but this time around I got around to making a map of one of Sharn's airship docks.

It's great if you want some intrigue and adventure to happen at the hub point of one of Eberron's most iconic transportation systems. There's also seagulls flying around, because Sharn is right on the river mouth that feeds into the ocean...you've got to have seagulls!

Let me know how YOU use this map! We can always use new adventure ideas!

Behold the moons Lharvion and Aryth

I painted all twelve moons so I can use them in my Eberron scenes and artwork.

How do YOU use the moons in your Eberron?

In my Eberron (#IME), Throneport is just a part of the larger island of Thronehold

I committed to the proportional scale of the canon map of Khorvaire. Unfortunately that led to Throneport not filling the breadth of the island. If I made the city of Throneport the size of the island then it would've become a megacity which takes away from the dramatic size of Sharn and its thematic overwhelmingness.

So I rationalized a solution.

Throneport is only a part of Thronehold island. The rest of it is inhospitable jagged mountain forests and even the shores around the island are steep cliffs making it inhospitable for unchecked expansion of the city for centuries.

Throneport only grew as much as it needed to enable diplomats, dignitaries, and spies to flourish in close proximity of each other. The rest of the island was too far from the center of where all the political action was happening and required too much resources to develop well...resources that no one nation was willing to spend for little return on investment.

Detailed breakdown of classic Lyrandar Airship

I'm about to make detailed battlemaps of the classic airship based on this old illustration of an airship cutaway (see 2nd image).

I don't know if a breakdown or battlemap already exists. (I see lots of homebrew that don't follow the shape or size of the published image so I wanted to make something more accurate)

Also I'm open to suggestions and advice of where things should be located and what kind of spaces need to be in the battlemap.

I also detailed what type of crew would be onboard and their functions.
I'm using Keith's blog to inform the interior systems design https://keith-baker.com/dm-airships/

[map] Endworld Mountains regional map

This is meant to be a regional (hex) map for wilderness travel at the foothills between Q'barra's swamp and the peaks of the Endworld Mountains.

At the south of the mountain range are the famous white cliffs for which a town would be named after. To the east are tributaries that would form the Adder River.

Using newspapers in Eberron

I'm interested in getting some unbiased opinions, if you read this paper what kind of things might you think you can do as a player? (I'm wanting to make better papers)

Is there anything that seems useless? confusing? or things you wouldn't care to see in a newspaper? Are there things you would like to see? or see more of?

I tend to run urban based campaigns and music venues and clubs are an interesting anachronism to develop in my Eberron (IME). What kind of odd things are in your Eberron?

[map] Aruldusk city map

Aruldusk is a small city on the western shore of Lake Arul in Thrane. It began as a walled castle city that grew into a tourist destination with boutique merchants and kitschy Silver Flame memorabilia.

Their Lightning Rail Station is built above a triumphant arch that serves as the official entrance from the south road. The station itself is a great tourist site on its own showing off the growing wealth and activity of the city.

Aruldusk is a juxtaposition of the practicality of the Church of the Silver Flame and visual extravagance to attract tourists.

This map was commissioned by https://www.reddit.com/user/Starrlord737/
aka Thorne on the Eberron Discord server

[map][free] Q'barran jungle water basin

Deep within the steaming wilds of Q’barra, hidden beneath tangled canopies and the cries of unseen creatures, jungle water basins are a common environment. The waters may feed into nearby rivers and tributaries.

This map features varying degrees of depth from above ground jungle foliage, to thigh deep waters, to submergible depths. It may serve as a dangerous skirmish location or crossing point for explorers, smugglers, wandering lizardfolk, and things...far older!

The map is 20x15 designed with 5 foot grids in mind.

[map] The iconic GOLD DRAGON INN!

Of all my maps, The Gold Dragon Inn is the one I use the most! I'm sure you will get a lot of mileage out of this as much as I have!

The Gold Dragon Inn is a House Ghallanda staple that has earned its reputation through comfort, consistency, discretion, and influence. Whether in the towering skyline of Sharn, the bustling hub that is Throneport, or along well-traveled trade routes, its presence signals something rare in Eberron...reliability.

House agents, independent adventurers, diplomats, and shadow operatives all pass through its doors. Behind its polished service lies a deeper truth that the Gold Dragon Inn is a crossroads...meetings, deals, and alliances are made here. It is a place where any story can begin!

My map has 4 floors which include hostel class suites, executive suites, a bar, modest fine dining, outside courtyard, and more...like bathrooms 🚽 😂 ! I'll add a link in the comments for the rest of the maps!

[battlemaps] What is your AGE OF DEMONS like?

In my Eberron #IME, much of the world is a khyber-scape (aka hell-scape). But interspersed throughout are pockets of celestial sanctuaries where the couatl reside.

One of my players is currently jumping through time and space and visiting various iconic events. You may have seen https://www.reddit.com/r/Eberron/comments/1s35kmq/map_queen_chasevas_memorial_fountain_at_castle/

What interesting times and places would you recommend in Eberron's history should I visit? Because I WILL MAKE MAPS of it :)

I use the region behavior's EXECUTE SCRIPT to force a token's elevation when using a small set of stairs within the same scene level. But the script I'm using affects ALL the player tokens even if they are not in the region. How can I isolate the elevation change to the individual tokens that are interacting with the region?

Here's the script I'm using:

const elevationValue = 10;

canvas.tokens.controlled.forEach(token => {

token.document.update({elevation: elevationValue});

});
