If you like chocolate sprinkles at home, try buying them from Friendly’s. They go through a lot of them at the store, so they are always fresh. And depending on who you get at the cash register, it will be an interesting experience. Here are brief recaps of some of my more interesting purchases:
[me] How much is a pint of chocolate sprinkles?
[guy1] They’re free.
[me] uh…are you sure?
[guy1] hey, guy2, sprinkles are free, right?
[guy2] right.
[me] okay, I’ll take one pint for free.

Another time:
Guy wasn’t sure which container was a pint. Goes and talks to another guy. They pour a bunch of sprinkles into a large container, and weigh it. As he hands it to me, he says “a pint is 16 ounces, so we used the scale to weigh out 16 ounces…here ya go…” 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’m trying to find a nice neat wiring diagram that includes the following:
- double gang single pole switches controlling a light and bathroom fan
- with source power coming in through the light (or fan)
But I’m striking out in my searching. Is there a good resource for this?

I used my GoPro on my boat today, and when I add the speedometer sticker to the edit, it a) presents speeds that are obviously wrong (showing speeds like 17mph when I’m nearly stationary, and other times speeds like 25 mph when the boat’s top,speed is closer to 12…and the course sticker which shows me changing direction when I am not, and other times what looks like me zipping along when the scene is not matching. What explains this mismatch?

The announcer for NBC Nightly News introduces the anchor by pronouncing his last name “YOM-ass”, but the anchor himself pronounces it at the end of the show as “YOM-us”. Why does the announcer do him dirty like that?

As a subscriber to GoPro Premium, I used the Quik app to create a video, and used music available in the Quik app as the soundtrack. I am under the impression that as a paying subscriber, I have a license to use the music available in the app. I posted the video to my YouTube channel, and a copyright concern came up due to the music. I appealed, and explained why I believe I have the right to use the music (and I don’t make money from my channel), but the appeal was denied. So what gives?

TLDR: the mail app automatically adds Comcast email accounts as POP servers. A goofy work-around is required to add a Comcast email address/account with an IMAP server.

For an unrelated reason, I recently uninstalled and then reinstalled my Comcast email account in the iOS Mail app on my iPad. Since then, mail read on my iPhone was not being reflected as read on the iPad and vice-versa. Digging into the reason, I found that the reinstall on the iPad resulted in the account being added as a POP server. The fix was to switch that to an IMAP server. Easier said than done. The only way I could find to do that is to delete the account, then add it back. But because the selection screen for email account doesn’t include Comcast, and doesn’t provide any way to select an IMAP account, I had to first enter a fake email address, like fake(at symbol)fake.com. This seems to be the only way to trigger the screen which allows selection of the IMAP server option. If I enter an address with @comcast.net, it skips the selection screen and defaults to the POP server option with no way to switch to IMAP. This is not a good user experience.

Pretty much everyone has had the experience: the gate agent announces that the overhead space is full, or “everyone in boarding groups (last and next to last) will need to check their carryons”, only to find plenty of overhead space once you get on the plane. I get that it is probably all just a semi-educated guess on the part of the gate agent, and that their priority is getting the passengers on the plane quickly, and not accommodating the passengers’ desires for using overhead space for their carryons. But there has to be a way to do this better? Why isn’t the decision more like, “well, this plane has overhead bin space that will hold on average x number of bags, and we will count the bags that go by here, and start gate checking at number x plus one.”
