This initially started as a perspective study, I drew some boxes and kind of thought they looked like a dragon snout, and then this was born an hour later. Hated it at first, now I adore it.

I’ve been wanting to get faster at art as of lately. Yesterday’s comic took six hours. Today, I set a timer for an hour and drew this! (I got half done with the shading before the timer went out and decided to spend an extra 25 minutes on this don’t kill me)

Sombra is genuinely an amazing character to practice art on. Simple and easy color scheme, both hard and soft shadows, lots of texture variations and material types, they’re perfect beginner practice material. You will probably be seeing much more art of them from me lmao

Someone told me to draw a dragon doing the “shrimp pose” posture and I knew I had to make it a sticker for discord. However I got carried away and made it into a full on piece, probably one of my best yet.
Also the background poster was being used as a color reference, but everyone I was in the discord call with told me to leave it, so now it’s a poster lmao
Sombra looked fun to draw, so I drew them. And I was right, 11/10. smoothest shading experience I’ve ever had.
Also I love to draw gold for some reason. This was good color theory practice in general, I’ll definitely be doing more silly doodles!

I posted when I repotted this tree back in October, and it did super well until about a month ago when it started acting different. The new leaves stopped growing midway through and developed that light yellow green color. Then, the buds developed tinges of brown. No signs of new growth. Some older leaves are yellowing and shriveling up on the plant, and staying attached. The tree wilts a week after watering, where a few months before it was three weeks.
Then a week ago, I came home from a vacation to find bright yellow flowerpot parasol mushrooms growing in the pot, which are a sign of overwatering.
Digging down shows super dry, hydrophobic soil, locked together with mycelium, as well as tons of bright white and brown roots, with some decaying ones the rotting ones aren’t mushy, but instead brittle. I have no clue what’s going on and why it’s acting like this. There are a lot of contradictory factors here.
My main suspicion is under watering. I haven’t changed my 3-week watering schedule since the winter. I decided to water today, as the soil was powdery and completely dry on top. And I tried to deal with the hydrophobic soil. I wanted to soak the pot thoroughly, but it’s too large to put into the sink and I can’t fill the pot with water as it all just drains out in minutes. I could plug the bottom of the pot with clay and fill it up, which is what I plan to try next watering.
Can anyone give a better explanation for what I’m seeing?

This was a first attempt at the “value first” rendering style. It looked amazing until I added the colors 😭
In my opinion it looks a little bit bland, the shadows aren’t very rich and whatever I do doesn’t seem to fix it. I’d love to have better coloring.
I will absolutely work on this style more though, it definitely has potential. I’ll have to play around with smaller sketches, probably won’t be able to post them due to them not being WoF- related

I love geology, and decided to do some literal worldbuilding. This is basically just a proof of concept, I need to see if people like it.
I had a lot of fun with this first one. In future posts I will go over my headcanons for the other mountain ranges, rock types, interesting formations, and even impact craters. I love my explanation for why the Bay of a Thousand Scales looks like that, im really exited to share it

So recently I got into geology, and now I want to apply my knowledge and try to come up with a geological explanation for the continent in wings of fire. How they could have been created, cool headcanon theories regarding the naming of features, and just in general an expansive explanation of the geologic past of the WoF planet.
In the future, I also want to try and figure out how the WoF system works, with its three moons. I want to actually try to calculate orbital periods, masses of the moons, mass of the planet, the timing of the moon phases, in short - figure out how the system works
Would you guys like to see that?

I’m so glad I came back, because I’m actually progressing really quickly. My artstyle has changed significantly and I love it, hopefully artblock doesn’t do its thing for a few months.
Somebody said my last artwork of moon was too green and made them look like turtle, which made me decide to draw turtle next. Thank you for aiding in the creation of this adorable art, this might be one of my favorites and it’s not even done
