hi!! Ive been lurking in the scene for a few years but recently I decided I want to finally commit to an army / playing the game, Ive done a bit of research and know the basics, how I could really use some advice:
No matter what I’d really like to play Be'lakor, the model is just frankly beautiful and my understanding of his play style seems really fun (The teleporting deepstrikes).
To my knowledge you want to play him with greater demons and just deep strike with a kill squad but I’m unsure of what detachments/what specific models to field, help would be appreciated 🥹🩷
after reading the manga, I think she may well be my favorite character. While in the show/ first 50 chapters or so she sort of comes off as an egoist (the will shredding and complete disregard of Flammes wishes), I think her character really started to peak my interest during the 3rd exam, her conversations with the cast really gave her character some needed depth and we got to see her actually feel something when reminiscing with Frieren. In season two/ up to about golden land shes really not that present, however I really like the bits and pieces we get, particularly, the partner assignment always stuck out to me as particularly intelligent, although some of it did come off rather cruel.>! I think she really shines in the manga though, her ’fight’ against Macht really solidified for me that in many ways she has the ‘correct’ school of thought when it comes to magic, Serie is undoubtedly the most powerful mage we’ve seen in the story thus far and while power isn’t everything, Serie seems the more effective demon slayer. With whole assassination plot; I feel the story began to make a bit more sense, Series repulsion to everyone having magic and her pushback against Flamme and Frieren, we see the results of a society that has much more ‘free magic’. The empire is much more corrupt and dangerous than nearly any other government we’ve seen, and looking back if almost seems like an inevitably , giving a people/country that kind of power without being able to look over it yourself is almost certainly a terrible idea, and while I do appreciate that Flamme asked Serie to look after them, its pretty rude to make a problem like that an then try to push it onto your mentor at your passing; all that to say I think Serie was right about spreading magic: having magic be so militarized and almost gentrified in a way is almost certainly Flammes fault. By no means am i saying she’s entirely correct but it’s clear Flamme’s idea of a world where anyone can use magic is slightly too idealistic. To me Serie seems decently rational and caring, and i think it shows in her handing of the prophetic dreams, she has the opportunity to survive and let many first class mages die, but she chooses to fight on, very much risking herself because she cares about them!<. Speaking a little more out of plot I like the way her character presents herself! I think Serie seems a good bit more ‘out of touch’ with the world and just generally old, while yes i don’t think shes an egoist, she is undoubtably full of herself, but she is a millennium old elf with unimaginable magical power, frankly who wouldn’t be?
overall I find her character rather interesting and substantive, while I don‘t think she’s perfect, I quite like her both as a narrative device and a character in her own right. I could be wrong though, I’d love to hear what you guys have to say.
edit: spelling
I think I would want it to be kinda comic/manga ish, but I think any good manga has a light novel! I’m not to sure and this may be a passing whim; but still, any advice is appreciated!^^
