. . . as requested . . . a brief tutorial for Figure 6+2 (basic version) . . .

. . . credit to Jason Lee and Unkle Steve . . .

Figure 6+2 is Figure 8 done from a 1.5 Red Triangle.

The video above breaks down the basic steps:

1 - throw a trapeze

2 - swing over into a trapeze’s brother mount

3 - open the throwhand loop with your thumb and index

4 - pull the front string segment back through the throwhand loop, forming a 1.5 Red Triangle

5 - swing the yoyo clockwise (from your perspective, and assuming right-handedness) - first outside, then inside, then outside, etc.

6 - end by releasing the 1.5 Red Triangle on an upswing, landing back in a trapeze.

N.B. - you can swing the yoyo in either direction, but it is best to learn the figure 8 motion in one direction - clockwise being the easier (that is, less awkward) direction for right-handed throwers. Get it smooth, and once you’re comfortable, try reversing direction. When you have it down in both directions, try reversing direction mid-swing with redirects - which is the most fun iteration of this trick, in my humble opinion.

Enjoy! 👍🏼😎🪀
