Help IDing YoYos

Hi all! I just purchased this lot of Yoyos titled “Lot of 5 Professional Yo-Yo's - Bomb Scuad, Duncan, YoYo Factory” and wanted help IDing them. Addressing the elephant in the room first the big purple and silver yoyo I believe this possibly an older model of the YoyoFactory Monster. Its body doesn’t really match the modern YoyoFactory Monster yo-yos. I also found this link as well.

As for the ones I’m almost certain of, I know the green top left yoyo is a Duncan AL Butterfly, the purple Duncan metropolis is beneath it.

However, I’m uncertain of what the models of the red and blue yo-yos to the right are. I think that possibly the red YoyoFactory yoyo is a SuperStar, but I don’t think it is.

If you have any hunches as to what the models of these yo-yos are, I’d love to hear them. Additionally, if you have any knowledge, experience or feedback on any of these yo-yos I’d equally value that as well!

Thanks for reading, and any help in advance!
Have a great rest of your day!

Need help as a beginner

As a beginner i got myself a whip yoyo from YOYOFACTORY. After i adjusted the yoyo to my height, it kept touching the ground quite a few times while practicing the sleeper. And recently it did again, but this time it hit very hard as i threw the yoyo hard. And now the yoyo is wobbling very bad and the string is giving like a shock or pulsating type feedback. I am not able to add the video here, added in the comments . Please help me with this

What should I buy?

Hi, could you help me again?

These are my current yoyos: Krown.wst and Aceyo Mercy 8. I'm looking to buy another yoyo, but I'm torn between the Speedaholic XX and the Vanitas.

Does the Vanitas have a play feel that's similar to the Krown.wst? If so, I might go with a different yoyo instead.

I found a second-hand Vanitas for $41. The seller didn't mention what grade it is, but from the spin video I couldn't see any visible vibe, so I'm guessing it might only have a very slight vibe that you can feel with your fingernail.

As for the Speedaholic XX, I found a brand-new one for $38, which is the cheapest price I've been able to find for the specific color I want.

Hypercut vibe fix (possibly)

I have a hypercut and have seen people comment on dropping it and it developing a vibe, even from not high distances. Today I accidentally threw a break away and it hit the ground and developed a vibe afterwards. I was feeling around the rim and noticed it felt slightly different in some spots then others, I end up pressing down on the caps and they clicked back in snuggly. No vibe at all anymore, plays good as new. The vibe was so bad, I could feel it on the string, but if anyone has this problem it might fix it.

Another mail day, now I know the Trvth☠️

Got a Trvth2! Been a personal grail for a while now. Only 25 made I think. It is everything I've ever wanted in a slimline. Fully unresponsive and the art is so sick! My first ILYY 😁

3rd day Yo-ing! Having fun!

Im not skilled at tricks yet but I have a lot of fun throwing and love the feel and sound of my hand-me-down Duncan Butterfly XT. Wondering if anyone throws with long fingernails? Has anyone developed any wrist injuries from yoyoing too much?

New to new age throwing

Hi everyone! So grateful I found this sub, just scrolling through for a few minutes has amazed me on how far yo-yoing has come. I used to throw in the early 2000s, but as a kid I never had the funds for a competitive Yomega or Duncan (yes, even a midnight special was considered fancy to me).

I recently found an old Duncan butterfly in storage, and with this find alongside playing Pipestrello and the Cursed Yoyo (it’s such a fun GBA-style game, must play in my opinion) my interest in the hobby has peaked after 20+ years. I guess I’m just asking…..what’s a good starter, but premium, yo-yo?

Im struggling to consistently land trapeze, any obvious tips?

I started playing with yoyos more a couple months ago and picked up a cheap £10 yoyofactory yoyo that actually has metal bearings instead of a completely plastic one about 2 weeks ago. I use it for like an hour at least every day and bring it everywhere, I really love playing with yoyos.

Im constantly struggling to land the trapeze every time. It feels like I practice it for hours at a time and at best I can land it like 60% of the time. It's really hurting my confidence because if I can't hit it consistently, how am I supposed to ever learn other related tricks??

I've managed to land a trapeze and brother once and it wasn't exactly elegant.

Please give me some tips! Did you guys struggle like this and figure something out?

The yoyo is cheap but its definitely capable of basic tricks, I think its just me that's the problem ;_;

Yoyo rim and bearing

Hi! I know this might sound a little silly, but I'm kind of a perfectionist. I've been thinking about this for the past few weeks.

I wanted to ask if I accidentally damaged my yoyo. There's a tiny spot on the rim that I marked. Is that something I caused, or is it just part of the factory machining/design?

A while ago, I pressed on the angled/sloped part with my fingers from two opposite sides because I thought it might tighten the stainless steel rings. Yeah... pretty dumb thing to do.

Sometimes when I run my finger over that sloped area, I feel what seems like a tiny bump or a slightly flat spot. But when I touch it again, it feels perfectly smooth. Maybe it's just my imagination?

When the yoyo is spinning, I can feel a very slight/ normal vibe, but it's nowhere near enough to make the string vibrate.

Oh, and one more thing. The original bearing that came with the yoyo wore out, so I replaced it with a third-party bearing that cost around $7–8. Do you think it's worth buying an NSK bearing for around $15, or is the one I have already good enough?

Mini recs?

Heyo! Looking for brand / model recommendations for a miniature yo-yo!

Been seeing some float around here and never even really knew that existed! As someone who loves yo-yos and miniature things, this is right up my alley lol.

Not really looking to spend more than like $30-40 tho!
