Won a cooler from a raffle at work today. Is this a sign?
Been on the fence about getting some Milwaukee lawn stuff (the Home Depot bundle with the mower and modular trimmer). I think this is a sign lol.

So I'm trying to use my amp (mkI 100w) for double duty. Basically i want to use my power amp (effects return) for amp sim from my audio interface output, *and* use my usb (secondary Katana is what windows calls it) for stuff like music and metronome and stuff like that.
This works when I have the AI (audio interface) plugged into the input jack for the amp, but I'm concerned that the preamp is coloring my tone without me really noticing. As I write this, it occurs I could just A/B it until I have the preamp dialed to he as transparent as possible, but who has the time for that?!
I suspect that the signal chain is broken by jacking directly into the effects return, but if you see it differently or know of a workaround I haven't thought of, let me know. Thanks!
This is a slightly different take on the classic "which guitar should I get?" type of post. I kind of want to get a cheap guitar with "good bones" for the express purpose of changing out pickups, tuners, pots, etc... over time. To be more specific, I guess the thing that I don't have any interest in messing with is the neck/neck to body joint. I may or may not change the frets later one just to get that experience too, so stainless is not a deal breaker at all.
So what guitars have your favorite neck? What is your favorite body style to sit with in classical? What are some features you would look for in "good bones" of a metal guitar? How cheap can I realistically go if I don't care about the electronics? Is this just a bad idea all the way around?
ETA: I'm located in the US.
Also, this whole discussion make me want to check out my old First Act guitar. I think it was a ME636 or something similar. It was a piece of junk, but I held onto it for sentimental reasons. Maybe now that I've got more knowledge, I can make a little magic happen...
Has anyone swapped out their stock speakers for one of the Celestion FFR speakers? I'm basically only using the power amp in my Katana rn anyway so I'm thinking about changing the speakers for something flatter, but not sure if it's worth it.
