Heavy finds!

"All you'll catch is nails!" Was what I was told would happen if I bought my POP Beast Magnet off Amazon. Caught a probably 50lb pipe easy and a big old brake drum. I wouldn't wanna catch anything much bigger!

Cleaning Magnetic Rocks/Fragments Off

Hey guys!

So where I'm at, theres a high iron content in all the rocks and I end up with rocks and little magnetic dust all over my magnet. Any tips I haven't thought of other than just pulling it off?

Also, any recommendations on gloves that don't get soaked? Not looking to break the bank on gloves.

Trying out the new magnet!

Went out today to test out my new POP Beast Magnets 360 3000# magnet. Went back to a spot we hit up last weekend, where we used the cheap hardware store 115# brick magnet. Found some cool stuff with both the new magnet and the old one!!

I think the neatest find is the laptop motherboard!

2 days of Magnet Fishing loot!

Did some magnet fishing for the first time ever, maybe 4 hours total, at some fishing piers in my area.

Used a cheap $20 115# retrieval magnet from a hardware store, not expecting to get much, but was surprised! Got a slightly better magnet on order for next weekend!

Coolest find I think was the wrench! I needed a new 3/4!! Maybe the Muskie lure?

Felt good to remove junk from the river too!

Budget Magnet Fishing Options

So recently I bought a $20 115# magnet from Menards, and had a LOT OF FUN.

Looking to buy a slightly better magnet, probably a cheap 360 degree one. I'm not looking for a high weight rating, as I don't plan on magnet fishing the Edmund Fitzgerald wreck 🤣, and its just something to kill time.

Does anybody have any budget recommendations, say under $100?

I DO NOT want to hear "you gotta buy an expensive magnet" as I've already proven I can have enough fun with cheap, just wanna get a tiny bit better fun.

Looking to get into magnet fishing as a hobby

Looking to get into magnet fishing as a hobby. I bought a $20 magnet at Menards, and cheap rope, and got hooked. Looking for suggestions for a kit to buy on a budget, say under or around $100.

Sound when rolling down driver's window - Chevy Trax 2026

Hey guys,

Does anybody else have a weird sound when they roll their drivers down? I'm beginning to wonder if its something electrical.

First 2Tanks on E85 - '26 Activ

Hey all,

Just wanted to share some data. I just finished my 2nd tank of E85 on my 2026 Trax Activ. I know some were curious what I'd see for mileage, and attached is a screenshot of my tracker spreadsheet.

I was seeing about 30-32 mpg on 87 (10% Ethanol)(disregarding 2 tanks on a road trip of 34&35 mpg), and on E85 (85% ethanol) I'm getting approximately 26-27 mpg, thats about a 15-25% drop in mpg.

Your mileage may vary, aswell as local prices, but in my area that makes it well worth it as I can easily get E85 for $1.99/gal while 87 is currently at $3.89 at the same gas station, and around that price everywhere in my area. My Trax also seems to like the higher octane better too.

Anyways, figured I'd share. If anyone wants me to post an update again after a few more tanks, let me know!

Xbox Controller Disconnecting Randomly While Gaming

EDIT: Which component inside the original Xbox One handles the connection to the controller?

Hey all, I have an original Xbox One, and it runs great but randomly my controllers disconnect. I've tried different controllers, and it persists so I'm sure its the Xbox itself. Is there a sensor inside that I can try replacing?

Edit: I have tried updating firmware. This is a wireless, but not bluetooth controller.

E85 Prices - Time to try?

Hey all,

I'm about 2200 miles into my life with my 2026 Trax, and gas is still nearly $4.00/gal here. A local gas station I used to always buy fuel at has E85 at $2.00/gal. I'm thinking I'm going to give it the first go here on my next tank! Anybody interested in hearing how my fuel mileage goes? I have a spreadsheet for tracking it, so I could definitely share.

Windshield Wipers Suck!

My only complaint so far, nearly a month in, is the drivers windshield wiper sucks. It doesn't clean my windshield, just kinda smears and spreads out the water and makes a blurry mess. Is this a known issue or do you guys think the dealer would replace them? Its been like this since I rolled off the lot. I'm at like 800 miles.

Hey all,

I've been having an issue where when I pair my phone to my car it'll say on the screen I have notifications, so I press the button to view them and it shows messages I received earlier that day or yesterday. When I'm driving I think it'll randomly do it again. Is there a setting I have goofy, or is there something I can do to fix this?

Sidebar, is there a way to make it so the maps doesn't always suggest destinations on my Android Auto? After I've driven a ways it closes out the suggestion dropdown and the upper right hand corner window of suggestions (allowing my spotify to take up the right side), but its annoying to have to manually press it all the time.

Hey guys,

So I've only had my Trax about a week now, but one thing I've noticed is everytime I get in and get going my infotainment screen on Android Auto shows zi have notifications, but its always a couple messages I got hours ago and have read on my phone already. I've even had it where the same ones show up again later when I get back in my car. Is this a known problem, or do I have a setting goofed up?

Just got home with my brand new 2026 Chevy Trax Activ in the pretty Cacti Green color!! My first brand new car, first car I've bought less than 120k miles and 10 years old!

Anybody got tips and tricks? Like I'm wondering what y'all did for mudflaps and floor liners? I was going to go Weathertech liners, but the dealer said to wait for some points on the MyChevrolet thing and buy the GM ones. Thoughts?
