I Covered Everyone’s Shifts, Now My Hours Got Cut
My workplace recently cut 13 hours from my schedule to compensate for overtime I had in previous weeks. The overtime happened because I was consistently covering shifts when people called in sick, working multiple closing shifts in a row, and sometimes even working at two locations in one day.
I rarely call in sick or come late, so it’s frustrating to feel like my reliability is being penalized. Other employees have also had overtime, so I’m confused about why my hours were cut so significantly.
They’ve also changed my shifts without informing me properly before. Would you bring this up with the higher manager? I want to address it respectfully without sounding entitled.
