Paying for NJ Transit bus ticket

Does anyone bother paying for the NJ bus ticket on the app? I just moved to Newark and I work at the airport. I’ve rode on the bus 3 three times and every time I present my digital ticket, they don’t authenticate it hell they barely even look at it. Is that normal? I even presented a paper ticket yesterday that expired in September and the driver took it without looking at it.

Crash Pad

Is it out of the ordinary to stay at a crash pad while being a gate agent/ramp agent? I got hired at United Airlines about 2 weeks for their gate agent position at EWR but I don’t live in Newark nor do I live anywhere close. I live all the way in Georgia. When I applied for this position I did not expect them to respond so quickly ,let alone respond at all, but they did so now I have to move to Newark in the next 2 weeks for training. I didn’t bother to look at apartments because I knew i wouldn’t be able to afford it so I started looking at crash pads. Long story short, I found a crash pad and the room is shared with one other flight attendant. I told the landlord that I am a gate agent so I’m going to be at the crash pad more than other tenants and he said that it is fine with him. The lease is month to month and I will be transferring to a different airport after my 6 months probation period. Are there any other gate agents/ramp agents that started off/still in this predicament?
