Nip Nips the clown (ft Mr Nipples)

Nip Nips the clown is the Nipple Realms top paediatrician. His six fingers make things like operations easy work and his long flexible neck let him get a good look at the children from afar. There’s no one else Mr Nipples would trust with the safety of his children.

All hail.

My first hatched chicken. Broccoli Highkicks.

I hatched some chickens. This was the very first, Broccoli Highkicks. From one week to ten.

She is a brahama so quite a large breed. The others are called Mary Candles (this one hates everyone) and Top-Heavy Ken (bit thick). I’ve also got three wellsummers called Ronny Omlettes, Barbara Lighthouse and Sargent By The Way.

Might be having a breakdown. Who knows.

Hummingbird Hawkmoth. Cumbria UK

Saw this fluttering around my sister in law’s flowers today. I’ve never seen anything like it before, it’s amazing!

A tattoo to remember my daughter’s Grandad.

Let me explain.

I was introduced to Oliver Tree by my cousin by watching the video for Miss You. My daughter who was 3 nearly 4 years old at the time said “oh! That’s Gangan!” My father is a 63 year old English man who in no way resembles Oliver Tree. Then when he smashes up the shop she was like “why’s Gangan doing that?”

I didn’t think much of it. But it carried on. He was Gangan in all the videos. Even when I was at my Dad’s house she delightedly told him that he was there on television. I told her many many times that he was not her Grandad and I was older than Oliver Tree so he couldn’t be. This meant nothing to her. She also has decided that she’s Chinese but that’s a different story.

We had to go away overnight to a wedding and I had to leave my Mum a list of songs with the titles she used.
Cowboys don’t cry - Naked Gangan
Life goes on - Gangan and all his friends
Hurt - Naughty Gangan (the swearing!)
Here we go again - Dancing Gangan and many more that slip my mind.
Miss you - Little Gangan. When he punched the man she said “why would Gangan do that?”

So we have had many years of fun with Oliver Tree and became quite solid (but not overly hardcore, I apologise) fans.

So when the news of his passing broke I, like many others, thought it was a stunt. I was honestly gutted, more than I thought I would be. I decided to tell her a couple of days after in case she overheard us talk. Thinking she might be a bit older and not still think he was her grandfather. She asked if he had really died and I said sadly yes. She was quiet for a while then said “oh…is Gangan dead too?”!!! Amazing.

So I got this to remember a brilliantly weird time in my daughter’s life. At some point I might add some decorations and a bit more shade to the hair but I hadn’t realised it was my son’s leavers assembly at school so had to cut it a bit short.

Sorry this is long but I wanted to share why Oliver became such an important part of our daily life.

Thank you, Oliver, for being a brilliant Gangan. Rest well.

Mary Candles

This is Mary Candles one of my three brahma chickens. They’re eight weeks old.
The others will be stroked and sit on me but Mary will not. I am the enemy. Unless I’ve got a treat.

Broccoli Highkicks, Mary Candles and Top-Heavy Ken

Two week old brahma chicks. I love them so.

What could’ve caused this?

We hatched the one on the right (Broccoli Highkicks) and our nursery hatched the one on the left (Princess Batman). They’re the same batch of eggs but the two they had are tiny. Their back feathers are crispy and they are wobbly - probably splay foot. Do you think their incubator is on the blink? One can barely stand up so I think that will die.

Just an aside - the nursery do this every year with our eggs. Their chicks come back to us regardless of sex and free roam on the farm.

Hatched my first chicks. I love them more than my children.

I got six and my kids nursery have six. Got three from my batch, would have had four but there was an accident with my husband…!

I love them so much. Sob.
