Accepted a 3-month contract under pressure, a better 6-month offer may land tomorrow. Do I back out?

Canadian IT contractor, incorporated, been out of contract for three months.

Contract A: interviewed six weeks ago. After the interview I left a message on their HR line asking about the outcome. No reply at all. Then last Friday, out of nowhere, they call to say I'm selected. My guess is they went through other candidates first or someone backed out. Three months, fully onsite, at the low end of what I'd normally take.

I interviewed for this role 1.5 months ago. After the interview, I followed up with the HR contact but was completely ghosted. They suddenly reached out last Friday with an offer (I suspect their preferred candidates fell through). The agency pressured me heavily, saying the market is slow, they didn't want the client to interview more people, and I needed the income. Feeling cornered after a 3-month gap, I accepted. It starts this coming Monday. They also wouldn't put terms in writing until I said yes verbally. I accepted after about two days. Start date is Monday.

Contract B: different agency, much more professional the whole way through. Pays about 40% more per hour, six months to start with a real chance of extension, and it's hybrid instead of five days onsite. The end client is a household-name global company, so it carries far more weight on a resume than A does. Same domain as with Contract B, but the project scope is genuinely better and would build the experience I want more of. Final interview is done and they told me they'll confirm tomorrow whether I got it.

So tomorrow I might find out I'm holding a much better contract that starts after I've already committed to a worse one. Better rate, double the initial term, better brand, better work, and I get my commute back.

My Dilemma:

If Company B gives me the official offer tomorrow, should I take it and back out of Company A?

I feel bad about reneging, but the agency for Offer A forced me to accept within 48 hours and had previously ghosted me for over a month. The 40% per hr difference, hybrid flexibility, and longer contract length for Offer B are huge for me right now.

What is the best way to handle this without causing massive professional fallout? Has anyone been in a similar situation with an INC contract?

Not trying to screw anyone over. I just don't want to lose a much better six months because I was rushed into a two-day decision while unemployed.

Looking for advanced SAP QM and PP video training courses (Open to trading materials!)

Hey r/SAP,

I'm looking for high-quality video training courses that cover SAP QM and PP. I already have solid hands-on experience with QM and MM from recent S/4HANA transformation projects, but I really want to deepen my PP knowledge for better cross-module integration. I'd also love to see if there are any advanced S/4HANA QM courses out there that I might have missed.

Are there any specific instructors, Udemy courses, or platforms you'd highly recommend? I’m hoping to find material that goes beyond the basic overviews and dives intopractical configuration and real-world scenarios.

Additionally, if anyone has any previous training session recordings or video materials for PP or advanced QM they would be willing to share, I would be incredibly grateful. In return, I would be more than happy to share my own deep-knowledge recordings covering advanced QM and MM!

Appreciate any pointers!

▲ 4 r/OntarioLandlord+2 crossposts

Just moved into the upper unit of a house in GTA. Looking for input from anyone who knows Ontario landlord/tenant law.

The situation:

Single shared meter for hydro, gas, water (whole house — upper + basement).

Basement is rented separately to another tenant.

Original Agreement to Lease (signed March 30): I pay 70% utilities, basement tenant pays 30%. Schedule A says this Agreement is the "completed lease" and no other lease will replace it.

Standard Lease (signed April 27, two days before move-in): Landlord added a new clause not in the original Agreement: "In case the basement is unoccupied, the tenant agrees to cover full cost of utilities." I signed under pressure — keys two days away, deposit paid, notice already given at my old place.

Now (post move-in): Landlord wants me to transfer all utility accounts into my name. Since the meter is shared, this means I'd be billed 100% for the whole house — including the basement tenant's usage — and I'd have to chase the landlord every month for the 30%, or eat 100% when the basement is empty.

My questions:

Is the 70% term in the Agreement to Lease the binding one? Can the later "100% when empty" clause be challenged given it was added two days before move-in with no fresh consideration?

Can the landlord force me to put utilities in my name when the meter is shared? Seems like that pushes both vacancy risk and the basement tenant's usage onto me.

If I refuse to transfer and just pay 70% on bill receipt, how exposed am I to an N5?

Anyone dealt with this at the LTB?
