This is my second time cel shading (first time being Maximum Spider-Man)
I think I did pretty good, though I wish I added more dark yellow. I also think I coulda done the sparkling effect of the white highlights better
I just happen to buy the Yolopark AMK Pro Optimus Prime during my trip in Japan, so I had to take some nice photos with the snow. Snow isn't a thing where I am from so this was fun
The 2 fully symbiote heads I bought from NewLightClub, painted myself
The symbiote tentacles, Mask ripping hand and half-symbiote head I bought from @yunchun_3d_model on Instagram, also painted by myself (He threw in free Open clawed flat hands)
Had to sand each piece and fill in some gaps with CA glue, then just primed and painted everything, was a very fun experience
Just finished painting these revoltech symbiote spider-man heads and also painting a mafex Tobey head, but they all came hollow and only sit loosely on the neck. Without using sticky tack, how can I keep the heads on while also keeping that upper neck joint articulation?
Bought both the unpainted heads from New Light Club. One headsculpt is almost identical to the pre-order bonus while the other one has narrower eyes
Sanded and primed it with dark gray primer, then used a pre-shading technique with white on the eyes with an airbrush
Finally, just hand painted the head gloss black and sealed it all with a gloss coat
Easiest headsculpts I've painted so far and beats buying the official pre-order head for crazy prices
With this final Spider-Man release, I now have every single amazing Yamaguchi Peter Parker Spider-Man
The purple shine on this thing is fucking gorgeous, I can't stop looking at it
I got good QC on the figure itself, no noticeable paint blemishes and the joints aren't loose, but one of the symbiote tendril pieces have some big ass dents and paint chips, luckily it's only on the back and not visible in the front. That still sucks though
Other than that, holy shit I'm finally done with Spider-Man figures 😭
Now I just need to hunt down the AY Iron Man and War Machine
Black Iron Spider and Ghost Spider+Gwenom are worn by Aaron Davis and Gwen Stacy respectively so I don't need them atm, but I'm considering buying them
My top priority rn is definitely AY Agent Venom though, that figure looks awesome
I joined the figure collection hobby kinda late so I missed the Spider-Man 2.0 release and has been my grail ever since, so happy to finally get it
I already pre-ordered the Purple Symbiote Spider-Man so I can't wait for thay
Just got my grail figure but I'm slightly worried since this is probably one of the most bootlegged figure in history
My thoughts on the new ML raimi Green Goblin
Cons:
-Torso can't bend forward much, but bending the legs higher solves that issue I guess
-The footrests easily come off the glider and Norman's feet loosely attach to the pegs on the foot rest. I highly recommend using a dispae joint strengthening pen to tighten those pegs up
-Mismatching pair of bomb holding hands but I don't care cuz they both hold the bombs really tight
Pros:
-Bombs do not fall off the hands easily
-The green metallic plastic used does not look cheap, looks pretty good
-BOOT SWIVEL
-the footrests are able to swivel on the glider for better poses with Gobby
-The included base actually works, the glider attaches to it tightly
-Inclusion of a Willem Dafoe head is nice, but I wished it was the grinning one from the no way home goblin
The artwork on the walls were so cool, it's as if Transformers the Movie was releasing this year. My favorite thing is that the Matrix of Leadership over the TF:The Movie logo was actually glowing and pulsing
A lot of the items were discounted by like 50-100HKD too. Ended up buying the AOTP Nexus Prime and they gave me a sick folder for free.
Changes:
- The black series helmet original just had 2 white stripes below the eyes, fixed it so it's more like a pattern where the red forms a "V" around the nose
-Thorn's minigun now says "The Hammer" in aurubesh
-Kneepads repainted from red to white (idk why they were even molded in red to begin with)
-Added the coruscant guard red stripes back to the legs
-Added back the thin gray strikes to both arms
I can understand Hasbro not doing some of the small details like the pattern below Thorn's visor, but missing the large red stripes and molding the kneepads in the completely wrong color? really?
I know nothing about cosplay I'm just tryna help my girlfriend. The design of the outfit is basically spot on but the colors are very off. The uniform should be black but it came looking very blue while the jacket should have a white gradient near the bottom.
I was planning on dying the cosplay for her, but the white collar on the shirt is not removable so I can't do that. I own an airbrush from my model painting hobby and was wondering if I could just airbrush the skirt and shirt black and airbrush white to make a gradient? If so, does any paint work or do I need some specific fabric airbrush paint?
I also plan to use scissors to add the battle damage, but was also wondering if that will cause threading？
I'm really scared to panel line the white painted plastic since it's matt, so the panel line ink will stick to it pretty strongly. Since it's white, I'm scared the black ink would be super hard to clean off the white painted plastic, making it look dirty.
What's the best type of panel line paint and the best way of doing this without making the white dirty?
Took the arm and balljoint of the Yolopark BMK and attached it to the AY Optimus Prime. Had to cut the hand and bicep off to add a bicep swivel and the AY wrist balljoint so I can use the AY hands. Attached the arm cannon from the R.E.D Megatron with some pla plate and a peg
The shoulder and bicep is still a bit loose so I have to fix that.But after all that I can begin to paint it with the cel shading artstyle and weathering of Daniel Warren Johnson's transformers art
Found 3 of them at a random toy store, so I decided to buy one.
Before the symbiote Spidey came out, Revoltech 1.0 Spidey was my favorite Spidey figure, period. But after playing with the symbiote figure, I can say it's a tie now lol
