How would someone make an esport actually FUN?

I've been hearing some sentiment from some friends of mine, that esports (and any competitive games) are inherently not fun because the game in question starts to turn into a job, and the people playing them are bound to be incredibly toxic, especially when they aren't winning.

I'm trying to find competitive games that are FUN, are NOT as toxic, and find what about them makes them actually work.

Can a Steam Machine play TDA?

The title, because someone is making it sound like the Steam Machine isn't as powerful as I was hoping it was. My current PC can't play TDA either, so I was banking on a Machine being strong enough to play it, but I might just buy some upgrades for that instead of getting rhe Machine.

Ranking subclasses in a tier list by how FUN they are (Day 14: Paladin)

This tier list assumes every class is in a hypothetical ideal state where they are not obscenely overpowered but are still strong enough to clear any content required of them.

Arcanist was put in A, simple enough to play but more fun than those below it.

Day 14 will see the ranking of Paladin, the last of the 3 Warrior Classes.

Summoner was put in D-tier, with the top comment stating the class is so easy that you can play it one-handed.

Day 13 will see the ranking of Arcanist, the last of the 3 Mage classes.

Ranking subclasses in a tier list by how FUN they are (Day 9: Acrobat)

This tier list assumes every class is in a hypothetical ideal state where they are not obscenely overpowered but are still strong enough to clear any content required of them.

Ritualist was put in F-tier, sadly being the first F-tier in the tier list. Hoping it's the only one.

Day 9 will see the ranking of Acrobat, the second out of 3 Assassin classes.

Ranking subclasses in a tier list by how FUN they are (Day 8: Ritualist)

This tier list assumes every class is in a hypothetical ideal state where they are not obscenely overpowered but are still strong enough to clear any content required of them.

Fallen was put in S-tier, people seemed to really enjoy the high risk, high reward gameplay. Makes you wish it was stronger in the meta right now.

Day 8 will see the ranking of Ritualist, the second out of 3 Shaman classes.

Is Paladin just dead in the water now?

I was going to start a Paladin profile off the recommendation of a friend of mine, but now I'm not sure if I should do that anymore. Ascendancy was completely gutted and now I'm being told Paladin has no way to do more than zero damage now, and actually trying to use Ascendancy results in you just dying if you so much as get BREATHED on.

I wanted to be a tank that can still deal decent damage, but it seems like Paladin can't do that anymore.

I don't think either of the other Warrior classes are my cup of tea, either.

Ranking subclasses in a tier list by how FUN they are (Day 7: Fallen)

This tier list assumes every class is in a hypothetical ideal state where they are not obscenely overpowered but are still strong enough to clear any content required of them.

Lightbender was put in C-tier, as much as it pains me to put it there because its my personal favorite, but I digress.

Day 7 will see the ranking of Fallen, the second out of 3 Warrior classes.

Ranking subclasses in a tier list by how FUN they are (Day 6: Lightbender)

This tier list assumes every class is in a hypothetical ideal state where they are not obscenely overpowered but are still strong enough to clear any content required of them.

Shadestepper was put in C-tier, cited having the POTENTIAL to be one of the most fun classes, but usually ends up being stuck either trivializing content or being frustrating to play as and alongside.

Day 6 will see the ranking of the Lightbender, the second out of 3 Mage classes.

Boltslinger was put in A-tier, being considered a fast and fragile, but also straightforward archetype.

Day 5 will see the ranking of the Shadestepper, one of the Assassin classes.

This tier list assumes every class is in a hypothetical ideal state where they are not obscenely overpowered but are still strong enough to clear any content required of them.

Acolyte was put in B-tier, citing a straightforward playstyle that is held up by its status of being a shaman.

Day 4 will see the ranking of Boltslinger, one of the Archer classes.

Ranking subclasses in a tier list by how FUN they are (Day 3: Acolyte)

This tier list assumes every class is in a hypothetical ideal state where they are not obscenely overpowered but are still strong enough to clear any content required of them.

Day 3 will see the ranking of the Acolyte, one of the Shaman classes.

Ranking subclasses in a tier list by how FUN they are (Day 2: Battle Monk)

This tier list assumes every class is in a hypothetical ideal state where they are not obscenely overpowered but are still strong enough to clear any content required of them.

Riftwalker was put in S-tier, some people were quite passionate about it (looking at YOU, John Riftwalker).

Day 2 will see the ranking of Battle Monk, one of the warrior classes.

Ranking subclasses in a tier list by how FUN they are (Day 1: Riftwalker)

Was annoyed at that out-of-order meta ranking tier list someone else made a while ago, so I decided to make a tier list series, this time ranking how FUN each class is.

This tier list assumes every subclass is in a hypothetical ideal state where they are not obscenely overpowered but are still strong enough to clear any content required of them.

Day 1 will see the ranking of Riftwalker, probably the most meta class, but is it actually FUN to play?

Also, here's hoping no classes are so unfun that they end up in F-tier, I haven't played many of these myself and that's why I'm making a reddit post instead.

Returning player here after a few-month hiatus, how much has changed?

I haven't played Skyblock since like a day or two after the 1.21 hub rework was first added to the Alpha, how much has changed since then? Is there anything interesting?

Hot Take: Give the Greater Core Stone a laser attack.

I don't like that nobody knows how to beat a core stone event without Zipline cheese. If you ask me, the Greater Core Stone should have a ranged laser attack or something specifically used if players are attacking the core stone while hanging on ziplines, to knock them off said ziplines.

Only the Greater Core Stone should do this, since that one at least gives you a warning that it'll show up, so you can build around it going into the mission. I think this is better than turning what would otherwise be one of the most challenging events in the game into an absolute snooze-fest.
