Westfield White City makeup services

Hello beauties,

I'll be in London (from Australia) in November for an event. I'll be staying with my in-laws most of the time but for the night of the event I'll be in a hotel, and near to that hotel is the Westfield at White City. I know there are a few makeup shops and services there and I'd like to get my makeup done for this event.

I'd be wanting a light, soft glam look, am mid-50s so needs to be somewhere where the MUAs are versatile and knowledgeable (ie. not just for beautiful wrinkle-free young skin!).

I would love your recommendations please 😘

NB. I don't want to travel far from the hotel as I won't have time, so although I realise the choice at Westfield will be limited, I really hope there's somewhere good.

Onion laid her first egg 🥰

She's about six months old, a gold laced Wyandotte. I wasn't expecting her to lay for a while yet as it's mid-winter here, but when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Property Valuer recommendations?

Hi everyone, looking for recommended property valuers please. I did search the Canberra sub but didn’t find any recent discussions of relevance.
If you’ve used someone recently and they were good, please let me know 🙂

Finding an old friend in Bangladesh

Hello Bangladeshi friends 😊

Many (38!!) years ago I visited Bangladesh and one of the lovely people I met became a good friend. After I returned to Australia, we wrote to each other for several years, but eventually we lost touch. I'd like to find them again, if I can.

All the information I have about them is their first name, their father's name, and their address (just the village and district).

I have posted a couple of times on the district facebook page, over the years, but had no replies.

Do you think there is any hope to be able to track them down, with such limited info?

EDIT: I'm mindful that there is a LOT of stuff here, and it's likely impossible that one person is going to be able to use it all...so if it looks to be in demand I will consider splitting up this hoard. I really meant in my OP that I didn't want to be picking out "that piece" or "those bits" for 50 different people coz ain't nobody got time for that 😉

ALSO I will wait a couple of days to see what the response is, then shut off replies and send DMs to people who've commented 😘

Hello historical costumers!

I hope it’s ok to post this here…I’m looking to give away a bunch of old lace.

I am clearing out the last of my beloved late mother’s things, and have found a box labelled “antique lace”. I’m fairly certain all of this would’ve been collected by various grandmothers, great-grannies, great aunts etc. and may be anywhere up to 120 years old. It is mostly cotton; there may be some linen, and there is some more recent synthetic. There are lengths of unused as well as bits that have obviously come off old dresses. Also a few pieces of other trim but not much.

I am not a costumer, although I do sew and I want this to go to someone who can use it. I am hesitant to split it up just because it will be so time consuming, so preferably this will go to one person or group who ca really make use of the bulk of it.

Would anyone like this? Can you think of someone or someplace that would? I’m happy to post it anywhere in the world from down here in Australia 🇦🇺

(See photos - I stated spreading it all out but ran out of room and enthusiasm so the final photo is just a pile 🥴)
