Dating is tough

Something I’ve noticed on Bumble and Hinge is that it almost feels like it’s so easy for guys to find a nice girl. When I scroll through women’s profiles, I see so many gorgeous, smart, accomplished women who seem to have their lives together. But when I scroll through men’s profiles, I genuinely struggle to find even one person I’d want to go on a date with. It’s not that I’m expecting someone perfect, but it’s rare to come across someone I’m genuinely attracted to or whose profile makes me curious enough to want to know more about them.

It’s honestly becoming so draining. Every time I open these apps, I end up closing them within a few minutes, feeling disappointed and wondering why I’m even wasting my time. I keep hoping I’ll come across someone interesting, but the experience is almost always the same. It’s frustrating because I do want to meet someone, but the process itself feels so exhausting that I don’t even feel like trying anymore. Dating apps have started feeling less like an opportunity to find a connection and more like a repetitive cycle of opening the app, scrolling through profiles, feeling nothing, and giving up.

Cult.fit refusing to transfer my Cultpass ELITE membership even though the recipient is also in same city

I have a Cultpass ELITE membership that was purchased for Hyderabad. I have now moved out of Hyderabad, so I no longer need/use the membership.
I wanted to transfer the remaining membership to another person who is also based in Hyderabad. So there is no change in the city/location where the membership will be used.

I contacted Cult.fit support and explained the situation. They asked me for the reason for the transfer, so I told them that I had relocated and no longer use the membership.

Their response was:
“We won’t be able to process the transfer request for your Cultpass ELITE membership due to your relocation.”

I clarified that I am not trying to transfer the membership to a different city the recipient is also in Hyderabad and would continue using the Hyderabad membership.

However, they repeated the same response without explaining why the transfer is not possible.

Has anyone here successfully transferred a Cultpass ELITE membership to another person? Is ELITE simply non-transferable, or is there some specific condition that I’m missing?

Would appreciate if anyone who has gone through this process could share their experience.

46 days of severe neck/trapezius spasm that keeps getting tighter despite physio, dry needling, MRI and neurologist - looking for anyone with a similar experience

I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has gone through something similar because I’m starting to feel quite lost after more than six weeks of symptoms.
This started **46 days ago**. I woke up one morning with pain and tightness on the **left side of my neck**, mainly around the upper trapezius. There was no injury, gym accident, or fall that I can remember. I genuinely thought I had just slept in a bad position and that it would settle within a few days.

Instead, it has gradually become worse.
At first the pain was mainly in my neck and left trapezius. Over the following weeks, the tightness seemed to spread into my upper back, both shoulders, and eventually further down my back, including my lower back. The main problem is that one muscle on the left side of my neck/trapezius feels incredibly tight, almost like a hard cord that simply refuses to loosen.

My neck movement is significantly restricted. Some days I can move my neck with relatively little pain, but at other times even a small movement causes a sudden, very sharp, needle-like pain. Sometimes it feels as if there is a scar, tight band, or something pulling internally from my neck all the way down toward my upper back.

The symptoms are not constant at the same intensity. There are periods where I feel slightly better and can move more freely, followed by periods where the muscle suddenly feels much tighter and my neck feels almost locked.

Sleeping has become very difficult. At night the muscles seem to tighten even more, and sometimes I wake up feeling as though my neck is almost immobile because of the stiffness. I often can’t find a comfortable position to sleep in.

Over time I’ve also developed pain and tightness around **both shoulders**, upper back, and lower back. More recently I’ve noticed a tight, uncomfortable sensation radiating toward the **front left side of my chest/breast area**, which has made me even more concerned about whether everything is really coming from the same muscle problem.

I’ve tried a lot of treatment already:
Multiple physiotherapy sessions
Manual therapy and massage
Stretching and mobility exercises
Ultrasound/sono therapy
Radio therapy
Dry needling
Posture correction and ergonomic changes

My physiotherapists have genuinely tried different approaches, but despite all of this, the one tight muscle in my neck still feels like it is getting tighter rather than relaxing. None of the treatments have produced lasting improvement.

I had an **MRI**, which reportedly showed **spasm in the left trapezius muscle**. I then saw a **neurologist**, who reviewed the MRI and told me that it was just muscle spasm and that there wasn’t another neurological cause seen on the scan.

That is reassuring, but I’m struggling to understand how a muscle spasm can remain this severe for **46 days**, continue to restrict my neck movement, cause sharp needle-like pain with certain movements, interfere with sleep, and seem to spread pain into my shoulders, back, and chest area despite so many treatments.

I’m not looking for a diagnosis from Reddit, but I’m really hoping to hear from people who had a **persistent neck or upper trapezius spasm that simply would not release**, especially if dry needling, massage, and physiotherapy didn’t seem to work at first.

Some questions I’d really appreciate hearing about:
Did anyone have a trapezius or neck muscle stay severely tight for 6–8 weeks or longer?
Did it eventually resolve on its own, or did you need a different type of treatment?

Did anyone experience sharp needle-like pain or a sensation like a tight scar or cord running from the neck into the upper back?

Did your pain spread into the shoulders, back, or front chest area?

Was there anything that finally helped after standard physiotherapy and dry needling failed?

At this point, after 46 days and so many treatments, I’m mostly trying to understand whether other people have experienced a similarly stubborn muscle spasm and what eventually helped them recover.

Any personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Trapezius/neck pain for 1 month, getting worse and spreading — looking for similar experiences

This started about a month ago when I woke up one morning with pain and tightness mainly on the left side of my neck and trapezius. I initially thought I had simply slept in a bad position, but it didn’t go away. Instead, the pain and tightness gradually started spreading from my neck into my upper back and both shoulders, and eventually I started feeling discomfort further down my back, including my lower back.

I have significant tightness and restricted movement in my neck. Sometimes I can move my neck with relatively little pain, but with certain movements I suddenly get a very sharp, needle-like sensation. It can feel almost like there is a scar or something pulling internally from my neck down toward my back. At night, my neck can become extremely stiff and sometimes feels almost immobile, which has also made it difficult for me to sleep properly.

I have already been seeing a physiotherapist and have had treatments including ultrasound/sono and radio therapy, but after around a month I haven’t noticed the improvement I expected. An MRI showed muscle spasm on the left side of the trapezius, and I have also seen a neurologist who said that the MRI findings are consistent with muscle spasm.

What is confusing me is that the pain isn’t constant at the same intensity. Sometimes I can move fairly normally, while other times a particular movement causes a very sharp needle-like pain. Recently, I’ve also started feeling tightness/pain radiating toward the front left side of my chest/breast area, which has made me more concerned about whether everything is really just coming from the trapezius.

I’m trying to understand whether a severe muscle spasm can really cause symptoms like this for a month, including restricted neck movement, sharp pain with certain movements, pain spreading through the shoulders/back, sleep disturbance and sensations toward the front of the chest.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Did your trapezius/neck spasm eventually resolve, and how long did it take? What treatment actually helped you? Did you need to change your physiotherapy approach or see another specialist?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who had persistent symptoms despite physiotherapy and eventually figured out what was causing them.

Recruiter got upset because I rejected an offer after negotiating. Is this normal?

I recently went through an interview process with a startup and eventually received an offer.
The initial offer was around 22L base + another 15L spread over 3 years. They told me the hiring was urgent and that I needed to accept quickly.

Before accepting, I had a few questions, mainly around WFH/hybrid flexibility and working hours. These things matter to me because I want some flexibility to be able to visit home occasionally.
They initially said they would get back to me within an hour, but instead called me the next day. However, rather than answering my questions, they increased the compensation.

At that point, I decided to decline because I felt the role and work culture didn’t align with what I was looking for. My thinking was that if I already knew the working arrangement wasn’t suitable for me, it was better to reject before joining rather than accept, join, and potentially leave later.

Recently, they contacted me again and increased the compensation by another ~2L. They also said that the flexibility I had asked about would be allowed.
I told them that I understand it’s a startup and that realistically, these things may not always be possible. That’s actually why I had decided to reject. I didn’t want to join with expectations that might not be feasible and then leave later.

The conversation then took a turn I wasn’t expecting.
They increased the base by another 2L. They got quite upset and told me that they had spent almost an hour on each interview round, including time with multiple SDE-3, and questioned why I had come for the interviews if I wasn’t ultimately going to accept the offer.

I said that obviously I came because I was interested in the opportunity, but an interview is also a process for me to evaluate the company and decide whether I want to join. I don’t think receiving an offer means I’m obligated to accept it.

They seemed offended by that, so I eventually apologized and ended the call. What makes the whole thing even more confusing to me is that I am not some exceptionally strong candidate with a very impressive resume. I don’t have another offer either, and they know that. Yet they keep coming back and increasing the compensation as if they are trying extremely hard to get me to join.

I’m honestly wondering what I might be missing here. If they were so keen on hiring me, why not simply answer the questions I had initially instead of repeatedly increasing the compensation?

Is this normal hiring behaviour? Could there be something I’m overlooking?

I don’t want to name the company because I’m not trying to target them. I’m genuinely trying to understand whether this is a red flag or whether I’m overthinking it.

I’m scared to take ownership has anyone overcome this?

Im a software engineer with around 3 years of experience, and I’ve been struggling with something that I can’t seem to fix.

My managers have told me a couple of times that I’m not performing at the same level as my peers. The feedback isn’t that I don’t work, I complete the tasks assigned to me, attend scrums, and deliver what I’m asked to. But I don’t go beyond that.

The problem is that I’m terrified of taking ownership.
Whenever there’s an ambiguous task or something that requires making decisions, I start thinking:

What if I don’t understand the system well enough?
What if I break something?
What if I make the wrong design choice?
What if everyone realizes I’m not good enough?

Because of that, I wait for detailed instructions instead of driving things myself. I don’t volunteer for bigger projects or AI initiatives happening in my company because I feel like I’m not capable enough.
I also wonder if part of the problem is that I’m just not interested in the work I’m doing. Some days I feel like I’m wasting my time and should switch jobs. But then I worry that I’ll carry the same fear into the next company.

It’s frustrating because I know this mindset is holding me back more than my technical skills. I don’t think my managers are being unfair - they’re probably right. I just don’t know how to become someone who naturally takes ownership instead of constantly second-guessing myself.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you overcome the fear of messing up and start acting like an owner instead of just completing assigned tasks?
I’d especially appreciate advice from engineering managers or senior engineers who have seen juniors go through this.

I am currently an SWE at an organisation, is it good to switch to service engineer role? Is it just a title and same as software engineering or something different like an SRE or a support role?

Break into PM roles without MBA? Is it possible?

I could really use some career advice.

I have 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer in the banking domain, working primarily on backend systems. This year, I gave CAT and was fortunate enough to receive interview calls from two Tier 1 MBA colleges. I was waitlisted at both, but unfortunately, the waitlists didn’t move enough this year, so I couldn’t convert either.

It was disappointing because I had been hoping an MBA would help me transition into Product Management.

Now I’m wondering if I should continue pursuing PM without an MBA.

For those who have made the switch:
Is it realistic to break into Product Management directly from a software engineering role?
What skills or experiences helped you make the transition?
Would moving internally first be easier than applying externally?
Are certifications, side projects, or PM courses actually helpful, or should I focus on something else?

I’d really appreciate hearing from people who’ve made a similar transition or who’ve hired PMs from engineering backgrounds.

Thanks in advance!

How people starting their own business?

I see a lot of posts where people are leaving their software development jobs to start their own businesses. With the current job market, I also feel pressure to think about other options. But I’m genuinely curious, what kinds of businesses are people starting after leaving tech jobs?

How do you figure out what business to start? Where do you get guidance or mentorship? Also, how do you manage the initial capital? Do most people have savings, another source of income, or family support while they build the business?

I’d love to hear real experiences from people who have made this transition.
