Why does this labradorite have no flash?

I got this rock in a mystery box that I ordered on Etsy. I got this rock along with other things like an amethyst tower, a sodalite heart, and a flashy labradorite tumble.

I couldn’t figure out what this was, and when I asked the seller they said it was raw labradorite. I did research and yes, sometimes labradorite does not have a flash, or it only has a flash if cut at the right angle.

Is this really labradorite? And if so, why on earth would they give me a chunk with no flash?

It feels a bit waxy like serpentine, but according to google it you put it in water it gets that way instead of being chalky.

My parents weren’t the nicest to me growing up, and I am struggling so hard with crippling shame any time I do something wrong.

Today I’m thinking of a particular story, from when I was 11, though there are so many.

My mom was babysitting her bff’s two kids, who were aged 10 and 9. My brother was 10, and I was 11. I wasn’t told that I was supposed to be in charge, and I wasn’t told we had to stay in the yard either.

We had just moved there and my dad had taken me to a duck pond nearby on the following day, so I wanted to show it to the other kids. I got lost on the way, and I’m guessing we were gone maybe 40 minutes before we came back.

My mom’s BFF was at the house, obviously upset that her kids were missing.

After we returned, my mother yelled at me saying I was irresponsible to take everyone away from the house. She said “did you KNOW that Caitlin (her friend’s 10 year old) is deathly allergic to bees?! And she didn’t have her epee pen! God forbid Caitlin had been stung by a bee and died… and it would have been all your fault!

There were so many things in my childhood but being blamed for another child’s potential death is not my finest memory.

I was offered an interview for a 10 years ago and didn’t accept it because I had already accepted another job at the time, and didn’t want to bail on the other job. It was also full time, and the interview I said thank you but I can’t accepted right now, was part time.

I told them I would love to be considered in the future after the year I committed to at the other job was over.
One year later I applied to the same employer again, and was not offered an interview. I applied to another new opening a month after that, and was rejected a second time.

Soon after, I ended up getting hired elsewhere and have worked here now for 9 years.

A full time position has now opened up again at the same employer that offered me the interview, and then rejected me twice.

I found out that on the same website I applied 9 and 10 years ago, they still have a record of my applications in the past! And I can’t delete them.

It has also been a a week and a half now since the job posting deadline closed online, and I have not heard back.

Should I call them and explain that I was just in a different life place a decade ago? Also, I had just moved from another state and did not realize that I was turning down an application from the most coveted job! Stupid, Yes… but I can’t change it now

Why are my savings bonds worth less than they were 4 years ago?

I have some savings bonds from 2003 and 2006. They are for $500, $200, and $50. I checked their values online around 2022, and they were all worth at least $1,000 and maybe more. It said they would be worth like double that if I waited the full 30 years to cash in, so I didn’t cash them in.

I checked today in 2026 and now they are all worth only like $1 - $20 more than the values they have on them!!

Is this because of inflation? Should I still wait 10 years? In 2036 $500 will probably buy me like 3 candy bars and a bottled water.
