Why are people so rude?

Just getting off a two week Seabourn cruise and over those two weeks, I can’t even count how many times I saw/heard people treating the crew like trash. No please, no thank you, barking demands like cretins. These folks work their tails off 12 hours a day, seven days a week, for six months straight. The least we can do as the fortunate luxury cruise pax we are is treat them with kindness and respect. Rant concluded.

It’s not the slip, it’s the recovery

We submitted some feedback after getting some spotty service from room service on Encore. Not only did we get a prompt call with apologies, but then came this nice little surprise and note. Seabourn doesn’t get it wrong often, but when they do they do a great job with the recovery!

Lump, or Stump?

Just had this monster come out of a bag of Jealous Devil. I hope I’m still alive to see it finish burning 😂

My first “crop”!

Just pulled my first crop of broccoli sprouts from the jar. 4 days from first rinse to these beauties. Letting them air dry a bit before refrigerating. Going to throw a handful in my salad tonight. Cheers!

15 years old this month

Thought I’d share a pic of my seemingly rare black KJ bought new in 2011. Replaced firebox twice, wheels several times and gasket 5-6x. Otherwise bulletproof and always fun to cook on.

Just took a BYD Uber in Europe. Driver said he paid around $30k, vs $45k for a MY (assuming I understood him correctly). If these things ever make it to the US, Tesla and every other electric car manufacturer is doomed. It was very nice, not at all what I expected.
