march aries x august virgo wlw???

anyone know how compatible/incompatible a march aries (f) and an august virgo (f) are? and how would you know if a female virgo likes you?

no clue how or even if i should shoot my shot :( she’s a really lovely person but i’ve been getting mixed signals at best. could just be because we both have adhd and a lot of social anxiety but i really like talking to her (we’re in the same uni society) and i would like for it to go somewhere. if not, id just want to have confirmation that it’s not reciprocated so i can move on

i feel like i’ve seen a lot of comments about how virgo and aries aren’t really compatible in a relationship and it does kind of make sense to me because i can definitely see how the aries spontaneity and chaos would clash with the more pragmatic and organised virgo approach.

how helpful is a strong dance background when trying to find an agent + getting into film/tv industry?

i have a strong background in dance, having trained in various styles of dance for over 17 years. i’m competing in the advanced category in my uni dance teams, and i attend the advanced/professional classes when i go down to the studios in london for dance. my acting experience is mainly from dance, e.g. in full-length ballets we usually have a character assigned to us, but i’ve also filmed a promotional video for a singaporean news channel and i used to attend theatre summer camps in primary school.

is this something agencies would consider? i really want to get into film and tv, but i’ve heard that most auditions would come through agencies unless they’re doing a global casting call. also, most agencies ask for a showreel and i’m not sure what to include. do i film a monologue to submit? or can i just compile my best dance clips (some of which would include some sort of acting if i was playing a character e.g. odile in swan lake) and send that in?

where i live, there aren’t that many options to gain acting experience. i’m 21 so i’ve aged out of many youth theatre programmes. i live in the east midlands and i’ve checked out almost every single theatre in the east and west midlands, and in manchester, leeds, york, and liverpool. there are some theatre programmes that go up to 25, but they are either full or they are quite small (productions are held in theatres/studios for less than 100 people) and i don’t really want to be paying £40+ for a train ticket every week if i wont get any chance to work with industry professionals or possibly get noticed through performances. o’ in my final year of uni so the cost AND the travelling time is an issue for me. as for acting classes, i emailed quite a few places and they said the fees would be upwards of £500/term or they only offered classes for under-18s.

currently, i’m just trying to look on mandy/backstage and i’ve also got an account with entertainment partners as an extra. but again, being a full-time uni student means that the auditions i can apply for are quite limited. i feel stuck: i can’t really get any good acting/theatre experience, which i assume makes it really hard to get an agent, and then means i also won’t be able to audition for tv/film roles.

any advice would be much appreciated! not sure if my dance background is going to do anything for me and how i can use it to get an agent or get film/tv roles

when is a good time to get an agent and how do you find a good one?

hi, i’m trying to get more acting opportunities, but i seem to just be forking out money paying for websites like backstage. my friend recommended that i try to look for an agent, but i have no idea where to begin as the companies have found either seem way out of reach (e.g. curtis brown) or don’t seem to fit the kind of things im looking for (e.g. only booking cruise line jobs for their clients) i have quite an extensive dance background/training and some minor theatre experience, but i don’t have a showreel or professional headshots. i’m not sure whether i should be looking for an agent and how beneficial it’ll be at this point.

i’m 21 turning 22 in march next year which means i’m ageing out of many local youth theatre programmes (e.g. television programme in notts only lets you audition if you’re under 21) and i’ve heard that the national youth theatre (which goes up to 25 for the age limit) is insanely hard to get into and apparently very expensive.

my background is in dance: i’ve been dancing since i was 3, i’ve choreographed commercial dance items as a university dance team captain + show pieces, and im trained in jazz, ballet, contemporary, commercial and jazz funk.

previously i filmed a commercial in my home country and appeared on an episode of a kids/teens TV programme, and I did some acting workshops and had lead roles in school theatre productions but I was quite young (i think primary school?).

any thoughts or guidance on how to get a good agent or acting jobs (beyond commercials) would be much appreciated! i feel like i’ve spent so much money on dance as it is, and so i’m a little wary of spending money on acting courses + an agent. i’ve heard so many horror stories of other people getting charged exorbitant fees for workshops or getting agents that basically couldn’t get them any jobs for over two years and now im not very sure what to do

uni of nottingham and career prospects

i’m a 2nd year law student at uni of notts, and i’ve heard that it’s really hard to get a first. i’m not surprised because getting a first in an individual module is already difficult, never mind the overall degree. but i’m wondering whether that puts uni of notts students at a disadvantage when it comes to applying for vac schemes and TCs, since most big firms/magic circle firms do require a strong 2:1 for your application to make it through the first round.

i’m aware that notts has one of the lowest rates of firsts (not sure why. surely this would make it seem like the teaching at the uni is lacking, hence very few students can achieve a first???), and i even know someone who graduated some time before 2008 and her cohort had a grand total of THREE firsts.

i always knew notts had a reputation for pretty strict marking, but it wasn’t until halfway through my first year that i realised how strict it was. we are provided with a document that shows the percentages of firsts, 2:1s etc. for all of the modules, and purely based off the percentage of firsts, there can’t be more than 15% of each cohort graduating with a first. compare this with the national average (22.6%) and UCL (26%) and that’s a bit concerning imo

ofc notts is a fairly prestigious law school, so that gives students from the uni somewhat of a leg up. but do employers take into account the fact that uni of notts is so strict with marking, and therefore a student who graduates with a 2:1 isn’t necessarily less academically inclined as compared to another student from a different uni who achieved a first?

how can i make this essay on resolving disputes in law and economics better? i am the point of sheer desperation. i have been struggling through the last (almost) 2 years of university and this essay is going to be my last straw. if anyone is familiar with the UK system, i didn’t get offered any vacation schemes, so i have to fully rely on grades to apply to law firms next year.

if any kind souls are willing to give this a read (even if it’s just the first two paragraphs) i would be so grateful. while i would love to get a first (70% or better) on this essay, i’ll take a strong 2:1 (which has never happened before). this essay has me at my wits end because it barely touched on economics concepts i learnt at A Levels and we were told that there were no prerequisites for taking this module (ridiculous)

the stimulus is: explain how a dispute with the facts of Lawrence v Fen Tigers [2014] AC 822 should be resolved by a court concerned with economic efficiency. Consider (A) the allocation of the entitlement; AND (B) in the event that the entitlement were to be given to the claimant, the choice between (i) an injunction; and (ii) a monetary award under Lord Cairns’ Act.

i have exhausted 90% of the course material so i know i’ve covered a decent number of various accounts.

my lecturer has largely been inept in providing helpful feedback — while he has uploaded examples of various essays scoring a first, 2:1 and 2:2, it is not clear what differentiates them because his comments on all of them were vague. feedback he has provided on my essay was equally vague and no one in this mod seems to have the foggiest clue what is going on.

we had 9 seminars, about 200 pages of seminar handouts over 18 hours of lesson time, and i need to write a 12 page essay (including footnotes) which seems damn near impossible because there is simply too much content to include and too many nuances to consider.

TLDR:
please save a struggling year 2 undergraduate law student. i’ve spent almost 50 hours writing this essay (references are still incomplete), i am losing my mind, and this is due in 4 days. any feedback would be much appreciated and i have set the parameters to allow people to add comments.

virgos, how do you feel about aries women + compatibility?

what do you guys like or dislike about aries women? my mum is a september virgo and i often clash with her. i’ve heard that virgos can be perfectionists, super detail-oriented and controlling, but my mum has adhd so really she’s just controlling. i seem to get along with virgos as friends because i love having deep, philosophical discussions and virgos seem to really like intellectual conversations. i’ve also observed that the virgos i know can’t be bothered with small talk, which thank god, because i can’t do small talk beyond 3 sentences lol

i’ve heard some people say that aries and virgo don’t go together (both romantically and platonically) because aries will just annoyed at virgo for being overly anxious and meticulous, but i myself can be a bit of a perfectionist AND i have an anxiety disorder 😭

im an aries sun, libra moon, leo rising and aries venus. i really like this girl who’s a virgo sun and libra moon. wondering whether we are compatible and how she might view me

what are your likes and dislikes about aries women? and how do you feel about this pairing in relationships?

what does this mean for my love life and other non-romantic relationships?
people are always shocked when i say that i’ve never been a relationship or made out with anyone (or done anything further). i’m bisexual, 21F and i find that i can never get past the first date or situationship stage.
also my life is just full of chaos. it’s always just one thing after another and i don’t think i can fully blame it on just having adhd

we’re both female, wondering what our compatibility is like platonically and non-platonically

i really like this girl who’s a virgo and we know each other through our dance studio. she’s on multiple teams and i’m only on 1 team (a different one) so there’s not much crossover and we don’t have any close mutual friends

i’ve heard that virgos may take a while to really warm up to you. so if you have a crush on them and it’s reciprocated you most likely wouldn’t know for a good 6 months.

we are tiktok and insta mutuals, and in the span of a week, she liked 20 of my tiktoks and my friends keep saying that there must have been something there because there’s no way TWENTY videos would pop up on her fyp and hence she must have been scrolling through my page. i also briefly felt like during this period she was always looking at me (through my peripheral vision) but i just brushed it off as me being hyper aware of my surroundings. i personally my friend and i are being a bit delusional because it’s been ages since anything vaguely interesting has happened in my love life lolll

didn’t have much interaction in person with her until about 4 months later when she came and sat down next to me at a showcase after her team finished performing and she started telling me all the tea about the other dance schools that were also there. was a pretty fun convo and my friends were teasing me saying that she didn’t have to engage in such a long and spirited convo with me unless she wanted to.

fast forward to a month later, we went outside to smoke at someone’s house party. it was just the two of us and we had a nice conversation again. since we’re not suuuper close it wasn’t like a deep, intellectual conversation, but it was more than just small talk. i see her around in class occasionally and have had other small interactions with her in group settings but that’s about it. if i don’t see her around, the only interaction i get would be liking each other’s posts on instagram or seeng her like videos i’ve reposted on tiktok (some of which are kind of niche so im surprised she knows about them lol)

can’t tell if i’m reading too much into this or if there’s potentially something there 😭 i really like her but how am i supposed to tell if she’s just being polite, or whether there’s a potential friendship/something more???

edit: she’s an august virgo if that helps
