I’m in the process of restoring a Jean Cardot and noticed the Incabloc pivot jewel is cracked.
I haven’t replaced one of these types of jewels yet, I will give it a try, but before I do, just wanted opinions if this crack will greatly affect performance? Could I just leave it or should I definitely replace it?
It’s for the underside of the balance wheel.

I have a Seiko 7546-8230 (E) restoration project on the go and I'm in need of advice on installing the new crystal on this type of watch case.
The bezel on the watch has the origianl(?) gasket still in place (the origianl crystal was cracked and broken).
I have purchased two, flat crystals, 29.8mm and a 29.9mm.
The 29.8mm fits into the bezel flush, how ever it is ever so slightly loose and when the case is tipped over the crystal falls out.
The 29.9mm sits just flush on top of the bezel.
My question is do I need to replace the bezel gasket for a new one in which case it may hold the 29.8 or do I use my crystal press and see if I can get the 29.9 in. I'm weary of the latter as crystals don't flex like acrylics.
Also, on a case like this, should I remove the bezel and install the crystal then put both back onto the case or can I install the crystal while the bezel is affixed to the case?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I’m in need of measuring jewels for repairing a couple of watches with broken pivot jewels.
The JKA micrometer is way out of my budget at the moment.
I read conflicting comments about using a Mitutoyo but has anyone here ever used one for such a a purpose? Thanks

Inside, there are the initials “DD”, one letter above the other. I’ve had a look at art-amerindien.com but couldn’t see the exact same layout of the initials. Anyone know the identity of the artist?
