5" for cinematic shots and freestyle?

I’m thinking about buying a GEPRC Vapor D5 O4 and DJI Goggles N3 to do some cinematic flying around cliffs, the ocean, forests, and rivers.

Is this a good choice? I don’t want to go with a 7” because I want to keep the ability to do freestyle. I’d rather stick with a true 5” instead of a cinewhoop or a big long-range setup.

So basically: is a 5” freestyle drone a good idea for doing some cinematic flying while still keeping freestyle capability?

Also, what do you think about using 6S1P 21700 5000mAh Li-ion batteries to get more flight time?
Thanks for the advice.

Nazgul DC5 for cliffs/rivers/forests shots?

The more experience I get on the simulator and IRL with my tinywhoop in parks, the more I realize I don’t really want to do freestyle or tight gap flying.

What I actually want now is to make nice videos along cliffs, rivers, forests, mountains, etc.

I live near the sea and dont have any drone restrictions.

So I’m wondering what to buy soon.

I’m thinking of switching to DJI O4.

Right now I’m looking at this setup:

* iFlight Nazgul DC5 ECO V1.1 6S HD O4, ELRS + GPS
* DJI N3

What do you guys think about this for making nice nature videos while still keeping 100% acro capability?

Also, what kind of battery life should I expect?

Thanks!

4low hard to engage

When I bought my new Jeep Wrangler JL Sport, I had a really hard time engaging and disengaging 4LO. At the beginning it was extreme — a few times I literally had to get out and physically push the Jeep slightly to rock it and relieve drivetrain tension just to get it in or out of 4LO.
At the time, people on Facebook and Reddit told me it was normal and that it would “loosen up” with break-in.
Now I’m at around 10,000 km, and the Jeep is used about 90% on forest roads and trails, so it has seen a lot of 4LO use. It has definitely improved compared to when it was brand new.
However, it’s still very hard for me to engage 4LO at a complete stop. In most cases, it simply won’t go in at all when stopped, and I have to slowly roll the vehicle in neutral (very low speed) and “load/unload” the drivetrain to get it to engage. Even with experience, it still takes effort and sometimes multiple tries.
Meanwhile, I often see people online saying it shifts into 4LO very easily, sometimes almost effortlessly at a stop.
My question: is this still normal at this point (10k km) and it will continue to smooth out, or should I start worrying about a potential issue (linkage, transfer case, driveline binding, etc.)?
Thanks 👍

First tinywhoop, betafpv vr04 review?

I consider getting into the hobby with an betafpv air75 freestyle, radiomaster pocket elrs and for the goggles I am torn between the cheap option so i dont invest too much and go with vr04 or all in with the cobra x without knowing for sure if i will like it that much?

Is Air75, cobra x, radiomaster pocket good starting kit? Also, sim vs tinywhoop, analog vs digital.

Hi everyone,

I’m a complete beginner in FPV. My ultimate goal is to eventually fly 3” or 5” acro freestyle drones.

I don’t have a gaming PC, and honestly I’m not really into video games, so I’m not super excited about the simulator route.

Because of that, I’m considering starting directly with a real setup:

Tinywhoop: Air75
Goggles: Skyzone Cobra X
Radio: RadioMaster Pocket (ELRS)

My idea is to learn by actually flying instead of sim, then later upgrade to a 3” or 5” freestyle quad while keeping the same radio and goggles.

My main questions are:
Is this still a good way to start in 2026?

Will I regret going analog for goggles when I eventually move to a 3” or 5” setup?

Is sim really that necessary, or is a tinywhoop enough to build the skills for a 3” transition?

Any advice or opinions from experienced pilots would be really appreciated.

I’m trying to avoid wasting money, but also want something practical that I’ll actually enjoy and stick with.
Thanks!

Damage to driveshaft would you be concerned

I dug in the mud yesterday and hit a rock hard on the rear driveshaft, and this is the result. No abnormal sound, no vibration, and no visible oil leak. Should I be concerned?
