Socks with a logo on one side

I'm really fussy when it comes to socks, I like to know which one is for my left foot and which one is for my right foot so that the toes don't get stretched.

Because of this I tend to only buy socks that have got a logo on the outside of the calf.

I'm in the UK

Most of the socks from next do this, but I want different socks with a bit of colour. I do have other brands, but I can't remember which brand they wear.

Does anybody know of any brands that have a logo at the top of the sock just on the one side?

Thank you!

This just broke my brain!

Until now it's been je ne sais pas etc but now it's telling me that it should be Je ne pas sais. Do they both translate as exactly the same in English? Or is there a slight difference?

This is my big bugbear with duolingo, they don't actually introduce a new concept and explain it to you.

Are the conventions around when it is and is not appropriate to do it?

Thank you!

Why does c’est translate as it?

In my mind it would be il est because I always thought that c’est meant this is. Does it only work in this context, or is it quite common?

Thank you!

Noisy pipes at night

I recently moved into a bungalow (UK) and I've noticed that at about 1 am or 2 am or thereabouts I can hear water moving through the pipes in the attic above me. It's not constant, it just happens for a couple of minutes then stops, then starts again after a bit. In fairness it might go on all night, but by about 1:30 2 o‘clock I'm nodding off. There's nobody else in the house, the heating is not on, and no taps are being used. I have a Combi boiler, so there's no tank up there and for the life of me I cannot understand what it is that's using water. As far as I'm aware the only pipes that are in the attic are the pipes that run from the boiler to the radiators. My bungalow is semi detached and the kitchen and bathroom are on the detached side of the house so I can't imagine that next door tapped into my water pipes…

Is it something I should be wondering about?
