r/socks

so i usualy never wear socks in house, i don't like how its all slippery and those grippy circles under some socks are hell and i would rather walk on lego. my feet are also so sensitive that i can feel the edge of where the normal sock is and where the heel pad part is if its not positioned right...

the problem is, my room gets very cold at night, like at least 4°C colder than the rest of the house, like i can feel the warm air when i walk outside.

i heard that wool is very good for insulation and very warm but idk about the texture. all the wool socks i see online have these patterns on it and if i can feel that trough the sock when im trying to walk on it i would rather jump out the window....

so my question is, does anyone know where i can find good comfy wool socks for the winter??

(apologies if this type of post isn’t allowed, I’ll remove!!) hi I wasn’t sure which subreddit to ask this question in but since it’s about socks I guess this is the best bet.
basically I have fat ankles, borderline cankles but I don’t like calling them that because I’m only 20.. I’ve tried compression socks but the pressure is mostly in the calves when I need tightness right on my ankles. also when I try to where high ankle/low calf socks the ends are tighter so it cause “ballooning” :( BASICALLY I’m looking for cute mid crew to crew socks that are tight on the ankles but looser towards the calves (preferably cuter or frilly ones) any suggestions?

I’m in a musical and am wearing clogs because I need to quickly take shoes on and off. The pair I’m using are my size (length/width) but are pretty loose in the height department, even with insoles. there are just some weird pockets of space.

I like tightly laced shoes generally but especially if I’m moving or dancing. Even though the shoes fit I think it will somewhat compromise my ability to move.

So I’m thinking padded socks. I have plenty of thick winter socks but especially in leather clogs the sweat factor is serious. Like I don’t need the first row of the theatre to get a whiff when I take them off. (Gallagher splash zone, olfactory style)

Tips for thick/padded socks that are reasonably breathable?
