r/socks

My friend is always wearing socks with holes. I used to think he just wore socks down to the bone, but no. A brand new pair of socks last him generously 5-7 wears.

He works a job that means he’s walking 10+ hours a day. Though I’ve walked that much before and never worn through socks like that and I wear pretty thin ones. Idk what he’s doing but it’s something.

Anyone know socks I could get him that would take longer to wear down? Or should he just accept that socks are disposable short term items?

Just thought I'd introduce myself. :) I'm melody5697 and I volunteered to help keep this place clean. This is kind of a weird question, but does anyone have experience with leather socks? I do a lot of craft projects indoors and sometimes a mosquito sneaks in. For my arms and legs I can wear thick clothes or a leather jacket. But for my feet all I can do is wear shoes, which I really don't like doing indoors. Does anyone know if wearing leather socks would stop the bites? Do they even make utility leather socks? I guess I'm kind of thinking of something like leather gloves for my feet haha
