What socks are good for someone who wears through a pair of socks in under 10 wears?

My friend is always wearing socks with holes. I used to think he just wore socks down to the bone, but no. A brand new pair of socks last him generously 5-7 wears.

He works a job that means he’s walking 10+ hours a day. Though I’ve walked that much before and never worn through socks like that and I wear pretty thin ones. Idk what he’s doing but it’s something.

Anyone know socks I could get him that would take longer to wear down? Or should he just accept that socks are disposable short term items?

Anyone else avoid supportive socks because they look too bright/medical?

I kept running into the same problem as a tennis player and runner, because I kept leaning towards unsupportive nike or hanes socks rather than actual supportive socks because tbh they didn't match my outfits and stuck out a lot. I have flat feet and plantar fasciitis and socks do help manage me pain a lot, but I often choose aesthetics over support. Curious how many people run into that tradeoff too.

Hey, new mod here! PLUS: Image posts are back!

Just thought I'd introduce myself. :) I'm melody5697 and I volunteered to help keep this place clean. I have some prior experience with moderation, including using automoderator and keeping inappropriate content out of a fashion sub. I've set up additional safeguards and re-enabled image posts. I look forward to helping this sub be a place where users can share their enthusiasm for socks without having to see inappropriate content! :)

why is putting on your sock later in the day harder than wearing it first thing in the morning?

Leather Socks/Slippers for Mosquito Protection Indoors?

This is kind of a weird question, but does anyone have experience with leather socks? I do a lot of craft projects indoors and sometimes a mosquito sneaks in. For my arms and legs I can wear thick clothes or a leather jacket. But for my feet all I can do is wear shoes, which I really don't like doing indoors. Does anyone know if wearing leather socks would stop the bites? Do they even make utility leather socks? I guess I'm kind of thinking of something like leather gloves for my feet haha
