HIFIMAN Svanar vs Thieaudio Monarch MKII for vocals and all-around music?

I’m deciding between the wired HIFIMAN Svanar and Thieaudio Monarch MKII.

I listen to a pretty wide variety of music: Rod Wave, Drake, Frank Sinatra, Jon Pardi, The Cure, Coldplay, etc.

My biggest priorities are:

  • Emotional, realistic vocals
  • Being able to hear small details like breaths, rasp, cracks/strain in a singer’s voice
  • Good instrument and vocal separation
  • Good bass without overpowering the vocals
  • Good all-around performance across different genres

I’ll also use them for gaming occasionally, but music is much more important.

Which would you choose and why?

Dose anyone actually use the Rakuten card?

Most people here including me use Rakuten but I never see anyone talk about the Rakuten branded card. Paired with another card you would be able to get an additional 4x on top of whatever their offer is. I do know the card isn't issued by amex so the protections and customer support will be worse, but if you use it as a strictly online card why wouldn't you have it?

Looking for One Piece fans to help build One Plex.

One Plex is a community project focused on creating a complete database of intro, recap, credits, and preview timestamps for every One Piece episode. The goal is to build a public API that can be used by Jellyfin plugins, Plex tools, media servers, and other community projects to automatically skip repetitive content and improve the viewing experience. We currently track episodes through a shared spreadsheet where contributors can claim work, submit timestamps, and help verify data. What you would do:

  • Pick any episode you want to work on
  • Record intro, recap, credits, and preview timestamps
  • Update the spreadsheet
  • Submit your work for review

There is no minimum commitment. You can contribute a single episode, a small batch, or an entire saga. No programming experience is required. If you can watch an episode and identify where sections begin and end, you can help. Its also a fun way to contribute to a project while watching the show form where your at!

Looking for a Whoop, batteries and charger. Would prefer a 75 but very open to 65s and also analog would be ideal but could maybe do hdzero depending on price as i just spent way to much lol. In search of 1-2 4s or 6s battery's as well. If anyone has used options for me to get back into the hobby after selling anything it would be appreciated.

Getting back into the hobby bundles

Looking to get back into FPV after selling all my gear a year or two ago. I’ve been checking Facebook Marketplace for used bundles/items to get started again, and I’m stuck between a couple options. Curious what you guys would recommend.

Option 1 is a full bundle for $675 shipped:

- Skyzone SKY04O Pro goggles + Walksnail Avatar setup: $340

OLED analog goggles with a digital VRX/air unit.

- iFlight Nazgul Eco ELRS BNF 2.4GHz + spare props: $175

Includes 3x 6S 1300mAh packs and 3x 4S packs, plus a LiPo bag. Seller says one motor has a worn prop shaft, but the other three motors are fine.

- BetaFPV Meteor65 Pro analog ELRS 2.4GHz + a bunch of brand-new 1S batteries: $80

- RadioMaster Boxer ELRS: $120

Seller is asking $675 shipped for everything. They also said they’d throw in an FPV backpack and some extra FPV gear like antennas, hex drivers, and other misc. stuff.

Option 2 would be piecing together a higher-end setup:

- HDZero Goggles V1 with TrueRC patch antennas, lollipop omnis, and RapidFire analog module: $475

- RadioMaster Boxer: either $100 standard or $150 with AG01 gimbals

- BetaFPV Meteor65 Pro analog ELRS 2.4GHz + brand-new 1S batteries: $80

- I may also need to buy a battery for the goggles

Bundle 1 seems like the better overall value because it includes way more gear, including a 5-inch quad, 4S/6S batteries, whoop, radio, goggles, backpack, and extras. But bundle 2 seems like the better long-term/future-proof setup because the HDZero goggles and RapidFire module are higher-end.

I already have a battery charger, but otherwise I’m basically starting from scratch again. Which route would you guys take?

Isle Royale Shakedown (with link this time)

In 2 weeks I’ll be heading to isle royal with 2 of my friends and would like some input on my load out as I haven’t done a shakedown in a long time. I aprecate any feedback and suggestions to add or drop. I might also possible be adding a tenkara rod but I’m not sure yet and everything for that I’d like 8-9 oz total.

I apologize I forgot the link here it is the second turn around

Dragon tail rod recommendations

Hi, I’m looking for a Dragontail rod for backpacking. Ideally I’d like to stick with Dragontail as a get like 35% odd through my worn on there rods. I’m looking for a simple one rod fits all the I can take backpacking for alpine open streams and also some local Midwest streams as well. I’ve been looking at the Shadowfire 365 as it’s pretty cheap for me and seems to pack small enough while being a good do it all rod. I’d you have any better somewhat budget rod recommendations that can handle some good sized fish let me know. Thank you
