I just read volume 5 and the ending is giving me a bad feeling.

People who are up to date on where the story currently is, does this situation turn into a complete shitshow like I'm worried about or is it not as bad as I think it's gonna be?

Tbh I prefer romance Anime/Manga/LNs where there aren't outsiders meddling in a relationship they should have no say in so I'd prefer if this situation doesn't escalate too badly tbh.

I remember reading the line about her mother not wanting her daughter to have regrets but to me she seems like the biggest issue in her daughter's life, you shouldn't drag you're kids into your career especially one so burdensome and you shouldn't really be meddling in their personal lives either, not saying their relationship is a mistake (but I could see how it is from her perspective rn) but you should have the mindset of letting your kids make mistakes, to learn from them and be there for when they need it instead of pointlessly meddling as that's not being a parent, that's being a controlling narcissist (I certainly wouldn't want her as a mother, that's for damn sure). Imo you should only really meddle if your kids are getting into something dangerous or something they can't come back from and an unusual romantic relationship doesn't count as that, she's happy and knows full well what she's getting into.

This take is wild narratively speaking but does base Luffy beat Marinford Whitebeard?

When I think about it, in base with ACOC Luffy was boxing with a kind of serious Kaido and Luffy even has future sight so he's no joke in base. Don't get me wrong Luffy would have no chance in base if it was even an old healthy version of Whitebeard and even in G5 wouldn't really give much chance of him beating Prime Whitebeard, although I think he'd probably beat healthy old white Whitebeard in G5.

But in Marineford Whitebeard was already half dead and super nerfed, he couldn't use haki, his speed and reaction speed were severely reduced along with his stamina, the only thing keeping in going during Marineford was his monsterous endurance but I don't think he'd be able to keep tanking conquerors coated attacks from Luffy like Kaido did, base Luffy is not only faster than Marineford Whitebeard but also has observation haki and future sight so Whitebeard would have a hard time fighting back and would be forced into a brutal defensive battle, I think his endurance could potentially turn it into an extreme diff fight but I just don't see him winning tbh.

Is this a hot take or is this generally what people think, or is it even complete nonsense and there are factors I haven't considered?

Just watched the anime and movie, can I continue from LN 5 and be mostly fine?

I'll probably end up re-reading at some point but reading the LNs for content of the anime I saw a few days ago seems like a bit of a drag tbh. As long as the events line up well enough and I don't end up with some confusing inconsistencies I'll be okay skipping the early novels for now and maybe going back to them later.

The anime probably skipped some stuff as it typically goes bht if it's just that much I don't mind tbh.

As someone who read like 20-30 chapters of the manga (I'm not actually sure how far I got tbh as it was a while back) before dropping it, does any actual romantic progress happen between the FMC and any of the people in her yuri harem?

Tbh idk what else to call it other than a yuri harem because she has a bunch of girls who want to be with her like some male Isekai protagonist, idk if there is a correct term for it tbh.

But regardless does the MC ever acknowledge the obvious fact she's a lesbian (or maybe bi, idk. probably not given the nature of the story), and does the MC ever pick any of the people after her or does she keep acting like she's dating them while telling herself they're just friends and back-peddaling at any progress she makes.

Because I did like some aspects of the manga but the way it felt like there wasn't ever going to be any real progress made me drop it but I keep seeing posts on this sub so I'm curious and if there is actual progress at some point I might reconsider giving it another try but I'm on the fence tbh. I'm asking LN readers as I would assume the LN would be way ahead of the manga so it would be better for answering my question.

What Spin-Off ideas do other people think would be interesting?

I think a Spin-Off focused on Veldanava, Lucia, Rudra, Guy and other characters from that time period going over the events of that time period in more detail could be very interesting if done well.

A Spin-Off focused on Shizu could also be quite a good read and her life in Tensura is something I would enjoy reading as it would be slightly tragic but from what we've seen it wasn't all bad and I would like to see more of her journey, especially her work as a hero / adventurer and work with the otherworlder Children.

I think even a Rain focused Spin-Off could be quite funny if it's just a bunch of short stories of her daily life and antics as she's my favourite Primordial despite her low screen time, because she's just consistently a very entertaining character. Having a Slime Diaries like Spin-Off of her journalism, art, interactions with Guy, Misery and other characters and other things like that could be quite fun imo but I admit it would probably have to be on the shorter side since there's only so much they can do with her character but I'd still enjoy it regardless.

I'm well aware it's unlikely at best that any of this is happening but I think it's at least an interesting discussion.
