Hej,
Im looking for a long-term friend variety gamer that has a lot of time on their hands.
I never thought Id be posting anything like this until very recently. Ive always been surrounded by people my whole life and Ive always been gaming, but lately that seems to have dried up quite a bit and Ive come to realize that I dont do well on my own so Ive ended up just wishing for better times doing nothing really. I dont know if theres anyone that can relate to this. so.. Im looking for someone (or some people) to spend my time with during the days and nights that just love to get lost in gaming. Ive never been good at writing applications or biographies so please brace yourselves.
So who am I?
Im a calm, collected, down to earth guy that seldom (if ever) gets angry or heated. I thrive in chaos and I love solving problems. I naturally lean towards meso/macro rather than micro in games meaning the tactical/strategy aspect in games rather than micro. There needs to be some degree of micro to it though or else I get bored quickly. I like planning and organizing, or again, just solving problems. However, if something feels pre-determined or on rails I lose interest quickly as well.
The company means a lot more to me than the game itself, meaning playing it with someone else could in most cases be good enough and make even boring or de facto bad games feel fun. Im not a yapper but if you start asking me questions you're going to have to ask me to stop talking in most cases.. be warned. I dont know if that is why most of the friends I still play with are women, now that I think about it. It could just be that Im an emotionally aware INTP-A too, which seems just about as rare as unicorns.
So what games do I play then?
MMORPGs
Tactical Shooters
Extraction Shooters
Vertical progression
MOBAs
Survival
RTS
Cozy games
Some examples then would be, but I have to repeat myself here - I'll play mostly anything so instead of dismissing it because you dont the game youre passionate about here just ask me seeing as there's a good chance I play it too (I play way too many games..):
World of Warcraft
Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch (a lot lately)
Escape from Tarkov and lots of others
War Thunder
League of Legends, Battlerite
V Rising, Windrose, PZ
Beyond All Reason, Broken Arrow (there's a lot here, I just have never had any friends who are into RTS)
I've been on the lookout for someone to play Baldurs Gate 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2 with for a long time as well. I've finished BG3 once but I never got further than Act 2 in DOS2.
The common theme is generally team based gameplay but I can be convinced fairly easily into other games as well. I will be playing Wardogs when it comes out at the end of summer this year. Ive always been a big fan of the Battlefield series, but I feel like they've lost the script in recent years and Wardogs looks almost exactly what I've been looking for in them. You'll see me flying helicopters for most of my time there unless they mess it up beyond salvage.
I do not play gateway to gaming games. Some of the games I consider as such are;
Valorant / Counter-Strike
Minecraft
Fortnite
Roblox
I think you get the general theme of it. If you're unsure, just ask me.
What else is there to add? I miss Wildstar man.. We didnt know how good we had it back then.
