Was anyone else bothered by the speed at which Baela moved on from Jace?

For one I’ve always been bothered by the lack of intimacy from this relationship especially since it’s by far the most normal couple in the series. But despite that they seemed to have a strong care for each other. But after Jace died it feels like the only one who’s really pent up on it is Rhaenyra. After the initial scene from her returning from driftmark Baela seems to have completely moved on from it, the boy she’s been betrothed to and grew up with a good portion of her life and she seems to have easily moved on from him. Even in her conversations with Addam she’s upset that her position is unclear now and she’ll no longer be the queen but it feels like overall Jace just wasn’t that important to her, at least as much as I thought he would be.

I love how both HOTD and AKOTSK made the spoiled rich characters actual competent combatants.

It’s so easy to make the spoiled rich kid characters wimpy, and useless in an actual fight. But these guys kind of divert the trope with Aerion being a superior combatant than Dunk and Ormund being the superior combatant to the battle hardened Roderick Dustin. It makes for so much more interesting television.

So what color is Daeron’s hair actually?

The beginning of the season, Ormund used a ruse to trick Daemon into getting a fake Daeron, they get caught so now the fake plot line is over. Yet Daeron’s hair is still auburn? Are they still playing pretend about his hair color? But why? Another thing to consider is that the fake Daeron had Targaryen blonde hair. Meaning the real Daeron probably has Targaryen blonde hair or that would be a rather stupid disguise, unless Rhaenyra and Daemon know so little about Daeron they didn’t even know his hair color? But why would Ormund bet on that to make the disguise. At the point we’re at in the finale it’s logical that he has blonde hair due to the fake Daeron however there’s been 0 attempt at giving him blonde hair since then so is he just red for good? Or was he always red.?

None of the things the characters accuse Rhaenyra of actually match what she’s done so far.

I’m talking specifically about Baela and Helaena. None of the things they say actually make any sense at all. Considering what Rhaenyra has done so far.

Baela saying that Rhaenyra “uses people and then throws them away” (she’s talking about Rhaena) is genuinely a stupid statement. It’s so logic defying because it ignores the fact that Rhaena abandoned her brothers, went out to find a dragon, and in the midst of that got the crown prince of the kingdom killed. That’s high treason and Rhaenyra would be justified in lopping her head off. What the fuck is Baela talking about. Not to mention Baela also committed high treason, and she was the one who was working sleepless nights to make up for it, yet now she’s using it against Rhaenyra, her making up for her own mistakes?

For Corlys it’s the exact same thing. He committed high treason, called Rhaenyra’s children bastards to her face, and then decided to throw a tantrum and go away, and it’s all somehow Rhaenyra’s fault. Alicent commits the highest level of treason in the show, incites rebellion, Rhaenyra captures her and practically gives her a hotel suite, where they can go outside and get all their needs taken care of, when really Rhaenyra should have had her head in the throne room for all to see. Then they escape and Rhaenyra still treats them more kindly than they deserve and they’re kinda speaking to Rhaenyra as if she’s mistreating them, when really they should be all dead.

The writers are kind of in their “oh Rhaenyra is going mad and everyone is turning against her” but forgot to actually make her treat these people as bad as they’re apparently writing she is? I don’t know.

I’m so tired of the way everyone speaks to Rhaenyra

This isn’t about whether or not Baela was right in what she was saying. It’s just the fact that her and everyone else speak to Rhaenyra so disrespectfully like are they forgetting that she’s their queen? Pretty much no one shows her any sort of deference and they’ll be just damn near talking shit and arguing to her to her face like she’s not their queen. I’m happy Rhaenyra is finally allowed to show anger, real anger about how people speak to her because I’m sick of it.

I don’t care.

I don’t care that she cheated on her psychopathic pedo uncle husband. I don’t care what she said to Ulf, fuck Ulf. Her views were correct, he’s one of the most necessary things for the safety of the realm and he’s fucking around getting drunk while the city watch is getting assassinated every other day. I don’t care that she told Colrys to wait a bit, fuck Colrys he didn’t even give a shit about these kids until he lost everyone, he’s waiting over 2 decades he can wait a little bit. I don’t care that she’s treating Manderly like a scapegoat, fuck him he doesn’t give a shit about the poor all he cares about his pockets. I don’t care that she’s not honoring the bullshit deal Jace made without asking anyone. I don’t care that she’s struggling to rule a kingdom when she has 0 fucking money, in an active civil war, where her city’s guards are constantly getting slaughtered and she can’t do shit about it because she has no fucking money.

She’s not a bad fucking ruler because she is struggling and fucking up during the most insane civil war in Westeros history. What the fuck do you want her to do? I’m genuinely asking. This is the greatest test a Targaryen ruler ever had. The only person who could actually manage this cluster fuck of a realm would probably be Jaehaerys. Because if she managed this even slightly well she’d be a Mary sue writers pet. People are bitching about her not having that much flaws and now they’re still bitching now that she has flaws. Also fuck Ulf, Fuck daemon, and fuck Alicent. That’s all.

Who does Alicent think she is?

Sorry for another not so favorable post about Alicent but like I’m so tired of the way she’s been carrying herself. Like she has no sort of humility, no one is really treating her like they should be treating her. Are we forgetting that Alicent literally dragged Aegon to the throne room to usurp Rhaenyra? The “am I supposed to thank you” scene pissed me off so much, because yes you should have been executed with your father. Your crimes are the heaviest amongst the greens other than Otto. You caused this war. Rhaenyra gave you so many outs, Viserys gave you so many outs and you still antagonized her. Now she’s just walking around with not an ounce of humility acting like Rhaenyra almost “owes” her. And Rhaenyra isn’t nearly as venemous enough to Alicent as she should be.

I hate how it feels like they’re trying to lessen Alicent role in the usurpation and make it seem like it was every bodies fault but hers. Sorry rant over.

Further confusion about John’s ability.

I’m sort of confused why John isn’t able to replicate Arlo’s new technique. Whenever we’ve seen John copy an ability at bare minimum he can do everything they can do, and then he amps it and he’s obviously stronger. Has there ever been a time John copied an ability and he couldn’t do everything they could do? Like I thought at the bare minimum John had the capabilities of the people he copied.

Do you believe John will have further limits to his ability?

Just to clarify I’m not using the image above as evidence. It’s just important to what’s being talked about.

Back on topic, I remember when John’s ability was first revealed everyone thought it was like the perfect op ability he could beat anyone, and then every time we learn more about John’s ability it shows it’s not as strong as we thought it was. For example we recently learned that he has horrible efficiency with healing and he can’t even copy time manipulation. The next thing I want to bring up is do you think there’s a certain limit to how many high level abilities he could copy? Like let’s say John fought 4 level 7.5’s. I like he be able to just copy and amp them all regardless? Could he only handle one or two?

There was a discussion not too long ago here on John vs Valerie and some people said John could copy her ability and amp it as well as 3 other abilities, but that almost sounds a little too strong doesn’t it? Like he could amp the ability of someone slightly weaker than him and then throw on 3 more amped abilities? Or maybe that’s fair? Given all the weaknesses his ability already has.

Am I the only one who enjoyed this episode?

NO. You’re not. You’re not the only one. I’ve been in this sub active for the past several years, most people in this sub like and praise the episode, they have some minor issues with it but it’s been mostly positive. Like 5 posts a day talking about everyone hating the episode and how they’re all miserable….there’s so much more people praising the show, I’ve seen few people on this sub say the episode is outright bad, moreso having some complaints. I agree these past 2 years has been people consistently hating on the show. But since episode 1 came out in this sub specifically it has been mostly positive.

So No you’re not the only one who likes the show for fucks sake. I’m fine if this post gets deleted I just hope we can get rid of these spam type of posts.

If Rhaenyra is more angry with Baela than she was with Alicent I’m going to lose my mind.

In the teaser trailer we saw Rhaenyra almost sort of physically intimidating Baela, which is one thing but given how she treats the women who had a heavy hand in ruining her entire life and also I would say is responsible for her chicken dying it’ll be so upsetting. Baela should’ve freed Rhaenyra that’s true, but Alicent’s machinations were one of the only reasons this entire thing is a war to begin with. Young Alicent was beholden to Otto that’s true, but after the timeskip she had her own agency and CHOSE to make her kids go against Rhaenyra, poison their minds against her. Rhaenyra made her the perfect marriage offer and she REFUSED and then continued to bully Rhaenyra for her children not being Laenor’s kids. Rhaenyra should be spitting on Alicent every time she fucking breathes.

This friendship was one of the most praised departures from book to show. Are you still glad they did it?

One of the least controversial changes from book to show was this one, despite it being one of the biggest changes. And holds evidence that the fandom could still love the show even if it’s not completely accurate to the book.

But several years later, people are no longer fond of the Alicent and Rhaenyra relationship as it was before. And many people wish it never happened, how do you feel about it coming into season 3?

Barrier appreciation post

Does anyone think barrier is probably like one of the most insane abilities in the series. Like I think level for level Barrier is the best ability.

Like for one they get the most insane and best passive in the series, like their passive is essentially just a built in elite tier ability.

Valerie was able to essentially beat Seraphina who she is .5 levels below than, and levels get exponentially bigger as you level so this is a huge difference off catching her off guard for like half a second. But keep in mind Seraphina’s passive is literally super powered reflexes and Val’s barrier was still fast enough to ensnare her.

Barriers reflective damage is absolutely insane, John had 7.5 defense, punched Arlo’s barrier a single time and literally lost the ability to use that arm for the rest of the fight.

Arlo’s barrier is able to stand up against mental mind control of someone an ENTIRE level above him.

And now in the recent chapter Arlo can literally shatter mental blocks from an ability who knows how far simply with his barrier.

If John in the battle for wellston had barrier and nothing else he would simply have just won. That’s it.

This ability is just so cracked.

Just finished the Elden ring DLC, this boss killed me more than every other DLC boss combined

I don’t even know what to say about this guy. For context I was running a faith/strength with my main weapon being the claymore. And boy did this boss do me dirty. Genuinely the worst thing about this boss is 1. The cameras, you can’t lock on to anything reasonable to hit, as well as the fact that half my attacks genuinely just somehow slid off his legs. 2. The boss has a huge health pool is strongly resistant to most damage and is in a pool of water. This was genuinely the first time I felt helpless against a boss since waterfowl.

Are you still just as obsessed with Timebomb as before?

This sub is obviously less active than it was since the music video which is natural, but how about your investment in the ship? Truth be told mine has faded a lot, I used to check the timebomb twitter tag every couple hours, same with this sub and all the other arcane subs. But now I check in every few weeks or even go months sometimes without checking in on this community.
