What if you never had to leave your guide?

There's a new media player pitched here pretty much every day, and with AI anyone can spin one up. Me too. But I'm not promoting this, there's no download, and it's a personal tool shaped around my own setup. I'm sharing it because I think it's a genuinely different spin.

I love TiviMate, and I always thought what if I never had to leave it? I love Plex, Emby and Jellyfin too, but their live TV isn't great. So my shows and movies live in the guide as channels. What's on now is the next episode I haven't watched. I can play it, mark it watched, or have Sonarr grab a missing one, all without leaving the grid.

I don't really keep a music library. I use Spotify and Sonos, which doesn't work well on Android TV. I already run Music Assistant, so I thought, why can't it be on the TV too, where I can see it and play it? Now every playlist is a channel and every song is a program. I can scroll to any song, in any playlist, and send it to any room.

The slides walk through it.

Xadarr — Android TV media hub that syncs across all your devices

yet another option but self hosted. XADAR stands for X-Ray Detection and Ranging — same family as radar, sonar, lidar. The *arr ecosystem has always played on that lineage.

It is not Sonarr or Radarr. It does not download or manage anything. It's a media hub — Jellyfin, Emby, Plex, IPTV, and streaming add-ons in

one place, with your watchlist, settings, and favourites syncing automatically across every device you pick up. LAN peer-to-peer with no

configuration, or Google Drive, or a self-hosted sync server if you run Docker.

Live TV has a fullscreen EPG overlay and a PiP mini-player that keeps your stream alive when you navigate away. Connect Trakt and anything

you add to your watchlist flows to Radarr/Sonarr automatically. Frigate cameras are built in. It can also replace your launcher entirely.

Free. Sideload APK on the releases page. See the README for full details and AI disclosure.

I'm baaaaaack!

After a couple years away with pixel i am back. Do yourself a favor and stay. The hardware quality just more premim and the resell value is better. Also there is nothing you cant have or do on samsung that pixel does. Went from s22+ to pixel 8 pro back to s26+. What is your experience?
