I was approached by two Sikh men today who greeted me with a smile and handed me a picture of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. They asked if I was Punjabi and I said no. One of them then mentioned an upcoming festival and invited me to attend their langar, which I politely declined. They then asked for a donation which I again declined respectfully.
They became pushy and despite me saying no multiple times, kept insisting on the donation. I declined politely each time but they eventually grew visibly annoyed, took the picture back and said, “Agar dena hi nahi tha toh time waste kyu kara?”
The entire interaction took me by surprise as I’ve never encountered people being so pushy and arrogant while asking for a donation.
