RE Village on PCVR

Hi, everyone! I’d like to play RE Village on PCVR (Oculus Meta Quest 3, Air Link) as a first playthrough. I’m relatively new to VR, so I wanted to ask if there are any recommended mods and settings for this? Aside from the mod by Praydog itself (by the way, in the releases section, there’s a specific RE8 mod and a universal one - which one should I use?), the very first video that pops up on Google recommends installing “Oculus Touch Prompt Mod” from Nexus Mods. Do you have any other suggestions?

RE7 Praydog PCVR mod Meta Oculus 3 bug issues

Hi everyone! I have finally finished Resident Evil 7 in VR (Quest 3 + Air Link + Praydog REFramework, DX12), and overall it was a great experience as a first walkthrough of this legendary game. The visual side was surprisingly solid, but I had several recurring gameplay bugs that all seemed related to VR interaction / input. I’m posting here specifically to ask if anyone else experienced the same things:

  1. Pistol occasionally would not fire
  2. The weapon was raised, aimed correctly, trigger pressed, but nothing happened. This happened a few times during the whole playthrough, usually at close range.
  3. Sprint sometimes randomly stopped working
  4. Ethan would only walk even while using the same input. Sometimes pressing/releasing the left grip “reset” it, sometimes I had to wait a few seconds.
  5. Healing sometimes failed
  6. The healing animation would start but not always complete properly.
  7. Worst bug: weapon stopped doing damage entirely
  8. During mutated Jack (the basement fight), I was shooting the eyes and nothing happened. Then I tested by shooting a crate, but it also would not break. The gun was firing, but no collision/damage was being registered at all. Reloading the save fixed it.

Important:

- Visuals were stable.
- No tracking issues.
- No controller disconnects.
- Air Link worked fine in other VR games.

I tested both default and GreyZard controller layouts. I also tested the newer nightly REFramework build, but it did not solve these issues. So at this point I’m pretty sure this is not a hardware problem. Did anyone else experience these exact RE7 VR bugs? Especially the no-fire / no-damage bug?

**Update**: The only visual bug I’ve got on VR mod so far is inability to see Zoe’s notebook screen hacked by Lucas on Daughters DLC. Not a big deal, but it’s critical to get good ending of it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

RE7 VR (Praydog) - Quest 3 controllers occasionally stop firing / sprinting? Anyone else?

Has anyone experienced intermittent controller input issues in Resident Evil 7 VR (Praydog REFramework mod) with a Meta Quest 3?
My setup:
Quest 3
Air Link
Latest REFramework VR mod
Resident Evil 7 (DX12 version)
Touch controllers

The game is generally playable and looks great, but I occasionally get strange input problems:
Sometimes the pistol simply won’t fire when I pull the trigger, even though the gun is raised correctly and aimed at an enemy. Sometimes healing animations start but do not complete properly. Sprinting feels inconsistent. Sometimes Ethan runs, sometimes he only walks, even though I’m using the same controller input. This doesn’t happen constantly. During about 4 hours of gameplay I’ve had the “gun won’t fire” issue only a few times, but always during combat, which is obviously frustrating.

The controllers work normally in Quest menus and other VR games, so I don’t think it’s a hardware issue.
I’m trying to figure out whether:

  1. This is a known REFramework / RE7 VR issue

  2. It may be related to the DX12 version

  3. There is a recommended controller profile or setting

  4. I’m doing something wrong with the VR controls

For troubleshooting, I originally used the GreyZard controller profile. I then switched back to the default profile to see if the issue would disappear, but the same problems remained. After that I switched back to GreyZard because I found it more comfortable to use. Changing profiles did not appear to affect the issue.
Has anyone seen similar behavior?
