SEP early promotion to 601 — how does it usually happen?

Wanted to understand how early promotion to 601 works in JPMC India SEP.

For people who got promoted in their second year instead of third:
What did you do differently?
Did you discuss it with your manager early in the year?
Is May too late to start that conversation?

My org situation is also a bit weird right now — my manager and manager’s manager both moved teams, and now my manager’s manager’s manager has started connecting with us more closely. I’ve had a few career discussions with him already, so wondering if it still makes sense to bring up growth/early promotion expectations now.

Would love to hear real experiences from people who’ve gone through this recently.

SEP Program India

Joined JPM last year through the SEP program as a fresher in India.

This January, I got around a 9% hike + ~2L bonus. From what I’ve heard, that seems fairly standard for first-year SEP folks.

Now I’m trying to understand what the progression usually looks like going forward.

My understanding right now is:
Jan after year 1 → normal hike + initial bonus
Jan after year 2 → another hike + better bonus depending on ratings
Then next-to-next Jan → promotion to 601 Associate

Wanted insights from people who’ve already gone through this:
What did your second-year hike look like?
How much did your bonus increase in year 2?
When you moved to 601, what kind of hike did you get?

Did the bonus jump significantly after promotion?
Is promotion to 601 mostly automatic after SEP completion, or very dependent on team/manager/performance?

Would especially love to hear numbers/ranges from people in India SEP recently.

I swear my hair is healthy but has zero personality

been using this L’Oréal purple shampoo + conditioner for months and I do like it, no complaints there

but it’s giving flat and lifeless 😐

how are you guys getting that volume + bounce?? any shampoos or products that actually work??
