Do Lumas canonically have the power of creation in the movie?

Do Lumas canonically have the power of creation in the movie?

They obviously transform and stuff in the movies and games, but do they have the ability to create objects in the movies?

The reason I'm asking is that, in the opening scene, the Blue Luma makes barrels out of thin air and breaks them during the storybook scene and a Yellow Luma is scene with a Donkey Kong tie. Then, when the Lumas appear later on, they suddenly produce shiny jackets before they are heading to Planet Bowser to do the "Starfox Team is ready!" part. I chalked this up to hammerspace (search the concept up if needed), but I noticed something else that changed my mind.

When Rosalina gets taken away, the door to the story room is destroyed. However, when Peach lands on the Comet Conservatory, the door is perfectly intact without any scratches or other visible damage or signs of usual repair at all when Peach enters the same room. Moreover, the engine of the ship that got damaged by Rosalina accidentally also seems functional.

Does this mean that the Lumas producing stuff is not just a cartoony-feature or hammerspace, but an actual demonstration of their power?

I think Frozen 3's villain will not be one-dimensional; she will have some capacity for love

Elsa discovered that she needed love for the full mastery and control of her ice powers in the first movie. In the teaser, the villain was shown to be rather powerful and in control of her powers. In my opinion, this means that the villain of the third movie has already discovered this and has thus already experienced some form of love.

Now, I don't think she will have experienced healthy love, despite not having that restrained love that Elsa had in the first movie (since that actively impeded her). It could be that she could be willing to risk things to save someone she loves like Callaghan from Big Hero 6. On a less likely note, she could even have experienced or be experiencing one-sided intense feelings like Frodo.

But, regardless of whatever form this love takes, I am convinced that the villain has encountered love before, or is actively feeling it in the movie.

I just noticed something while rewatching parts of the Galaxy movie

The little white Luma with the pacifier that appears at the beginning of the Galaxy movie is obviously going to be an important character in later movies because of his significance in the Galaxy 2 game and because he's shown as younger than his siblings and will grow up into his future role.

Just before Peach and the others go to rescue Rosalina, the little white Luma goes "Starfox team is ready!" and poses with his siblings before entering the spaceship. However, when the Lumas reunite with Rosalina at the end, he is nowhere to be seen. I rewatched that specific scene again and I could not spot him. He was also not visible when they went to the Mushroom Kingdom to see the missing castle. Where did he go?

If Rocky's species couldn't sense radiation and didn't know about it, how did they know that their Sun was getting dimmer and know which Sun was unaffected?

I haven't read the book, so I assume that this would have been clarified there, but this was a question that I had after watching the movie a few times.

Because, if the Eridians didn't know what radiation was, how did they measure the effects of astrophage, and how did they discover that Tau-Ceti was the one sun that was unaffected?

Why did Jeff change his last name after Into the Spider-Verse?

I was under the impression that Jeff Morales changed his last name from Jeff Davis after he became a cop to distance himself from his past and take his wife's name, but I saw this while rewatching Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse back-to-back.

He had the 'Davis' badge on his uniform in Into the Spider-Verse but in Across the Spider-Verse his badge says 'Morales', and he is addressed as such by everyone in the latter film. So why did he change his last name in between both movies? Would it be that he changed it a bit before his promotion, because he was expecting it and wanted a fresh start?

Anyone else bothered by how Rosalina didn't check up on or inquire about the Brave Yellow Luma that tried to save her at the end?

The Brave Yellow Luma risked his life trying to save her, then traveled across several galaxies before finding Peach and collapsing of exhaustion, and then turned into a Launch Star (likely temporarily) to help Peach and Toad find Rosalina.

Rosalina is very concerned for him when she is with him and goes Mama Bear mode when the Koopas accidentally hurt him when taking him out of the cage on Planet Bowser, but I was slightly annoyed that she didn't ask about him or try to specifically make sure that he was alright at the end of the movie, considering how he was separated from his siblings.

Was anyone else bothered by this? I think this was one of those scenes that they might have included in the concept art but it may have been cut out due to runtime restrictions.

Do you guys think Donkey Kong will appear in the third movie?

Since the Donkey Kong movie is rumoured to be releasing in 2028, and the third movie is rumoured to be releasing in 2029, do you think Donkey Kong would appear in the third movie for a speaking role, even if it is a minor one? Or do you think he will be absent completely?

I've seen discourse about Toadsworth/General Toad, but what about Polari?

Do you guys think Polari might make an appearance in the movies?

I personally think he would make an appearance in Rosalina's flashbacks or backstory as she meets the Lumas before he raises her, and then he would pass on Uncle Ben style where that propels Rosalina to then grow further as a character and realize her potential. Otherwise, they could potentially reunite in the present.

What do you guys think could happen with him? Do you think Nintendo will bring him back for the movies?

A Toadsworth theory (movies)

So, it's mentioned and shown in the movies that Peach meets the Toads in the Mushroom Kingdom and they adopt her. However, if you watch the sequences, you will see that the first Toad she meets is a green Toad, who she immediately hugs after giving him her pacifier, and in the following sequences with Peach learning how to fish and stuff, this green Toad is the one closest to her and by her side, implying that the green Toad had the biggest hand in raising her.

Green leaves/trees also usually turn brown in fall/autumn.

Putting these two things together, I think we have seen a young Toadsworth in the movie flashbacks, and he will have turned brown as he aged, gaining the appearance we know from the games.

I think Toadsworth will possibly return in his old form in future movies, whether appearing in pictures or physically appearing as a surprise. He is likely to be a father-figure for Peach, if he is the same as the green Toad from the flashbacks.

Question about potential Link/Sonic crossovers in the Mario movies

I highly doubt that Link, Zelda, or Sonic would show up anytime soon in the future Mario movies.

However, if they were ever to show up, or any side characters from those universes were to show up (like Amy or Tails), then would they turn the characters from the live-action movies into an animated version of themselves, or would they create yet another new version of these characters to fit the animated universe?

I think they would create new versions, but I'm not sure what that would look like.

A thought I had about the Yellow Luma and Donkey Kong movie

I am gonna be talking about the brave Yellow Luma that tried to save Rosalina and then went to get Peach. He turns into a Launch Star and then is absent from the rest of the movie.

I know I said before that he may have been wandering the Mushroom Kingdom looking for star bits, because Lumas become hungry after transforming, and that he may reunite with Rosalina in the third movie, since he's not explicitly shown to do so at the end of the Galaxy movie (I wonder why Rosalina never asks about him or does a headcount).

However, I think something else would be cooler. In the beginning, in the Story Room, when the Lumas bring up Donkey Kong, a Yellow Luma is shown to be wearing Donkey Kong's tie and a Blue Luma is shown to be breaking barrels. Even if this Yellow Luma isn't the same Luma, he could be a fan of Donkey Kong, which would be fitting with how brave he is, being the only Luma to try to save Rosalina.

My theory is that the Yellow Luma could have wandered off to the Jungle Kingdom and could pop up as a cameo/side character in the Donkey Kong movie. I know it sounds like a stretch, but it would be a cool way to tie that movie in with the Galaxy movie, and it would give closure as to what happened to the guy, and it can let him reunite with Rosalina in the third movie. I think it would also produce a fun dynamic overall. What do you guys think?

Question about Peach's name in the Galaxy movie

Rosalina obviously knew Peach's name was Peach, but how did the Toad's know? Was it a coincidence that they named her Peach as well, or did Rosalina later hear about her new name being Peach and adapted accordingly?

The most plausible explanation I can come up with is that Peach is slightly able to talk, with her audibly saying "No!" to Rosalina when she lets go of her in the pipe. This means that Peach probably told them her name. Is that a feasible explanation?

SPOILERS INCLUDED: Question about the Avatar Aang movie

SPOILER WARNING: This post will contain spoilers for the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender movie. I will not be blocking anything out, because the entire premise of this post is a question related to the plot of the movie.

This is just an additional paragraph to help people avoid spoilers. Please stop reading if you don't want spoilers for the movie.

Anyway, my question has to do with Sonam, the staff and the map that The Denied use to find it. At the end of the movie, Sonam reveals that she purposefully hid the staff in that special place before passing, being the only one who knew where it was. So, my question is, how was a map of the location of the staff even created?

Sonam never told anyone where she was going with the staff. She froze Tagah in ice, so he didn't know where she was going and, even if he did, he wouldn't have been able to tell anyone or make a map of it. Sonam didn't even leave the location, so she couldn't have made the map, and it doesn't make sense that she would considering that she was actively trying to hide it.

This also makes me confused as to how Tagah knew the staff was there, but I think it was that he took a guess, since he knew her well enough and knew she would go back to the Lion Turtles to put the staff there. So, him going there makes sense.

However, the map that The Denied used shows the same location (though we never see the contents of the map). How was that map created? Why? It doesn't make any sense to me how people would know that Sonam put it there.

At most, it could be that her surviving disciples used the same logic as Tagah and guessed and made a map, and that's the most plausible explanation I can come up with, but it's still a relatively weak one, to be honest.

What do you guys think? Did I miss something?

A concept/idea I had for a potentially fun scene in the third movie

Apologies, this is going to be long.

This post assumes that Peach and Mario and everyone else will go off to Sarasaland in the third movie to help Daisy, while Rosalina stays behind in the Mushroom Kingdom to protect it and watch over it while Peach is away. This also assumes that Bowser and Bowser Jr. will return for the marketability of the movie, and of Jack Black, who is a cornerstone for the franchise.

One issue that I had with Rosalina, despite her being my favourite, was that she did not help Peach out with the events of the first movie, despite knowing all the intricate details about it. This would be a fun scene to fix that.

Bowser and Bowser Jr. could enter the throne room of Peach's castle, looking for Princess Peach, only to find Rosalina sitting on the throne, looking angry but quite calm. After Rosalina tells them that Peach is away, Bowser starts leaving, but Rosalina confronts him about the events of the first movie and engages him, Junior and a group of Koopas and Goombas in a fight, winning. This is how I would think it would play out:

Rosalina: "I'm afraid Peach is away."

Bowser: "So, the rumours are true. Alright, that settles it. Let's go to Sarasaland, Junior." *turns*

Rosalina: "Speaking of settling things..."

*gets up slowly with her eyes closed, then opens her eyes to show a mild look of anger while staying calm (not too much anger)*

Rosalina: "Aren't you the person who tried to force my sister to marry him?"

Bowser: *chuckles* "Love is a powerful thing."

Rosalina: *summons wand* "Yes, it is."

*Bowser and Junior have a slightly worried but determined look in their eyes. Rosalina proceeds to fight Bowser, Junior and the group of bad guys, and solos them all*

Rosalina: *after defeating them* "Stay away from my sister, or I won't stay away from you."

*Rosalina then sends them into their spaceship and throws it into the sky to create a Team Rocket cartoonish effect (for those familiar with Pokémon). Note: Bowser and Junior and others are still unharmed, just deterred.*

I think it would be cool if Junior somehow retrieved his paintbrush and uses it against Rosalina, only to show Rosalina defeating him easily after having learnt from the first movie. They could show this specifically in a slow-motion sequence to emphasize the point.

I think it would also be cool if a single Goomba and a single Koopa went off into a hallway, leaving the throne room, to look for the Lumas (Home Alone type of villain duo). The Lumas could be in Peach's Tea Room, and the camera could cut to this scene in between occasionally where the Lumas notice them trying to sneak up on them, then throw mini-barrels at them to drive them away back to the Throne Room (because they could summon them and were fans of Donkey Kong in the Galaxy movie). This is where Rosalina would wrap things up and send them all away.

I'm not sure if such a scene would ever be included, but I would love to see it. I just wanted to write this out because I thought it would be a fun way to redeem Rosalina's character while also showing how effortlessly powerful she is, and I didn't quite know where else to post it. Let me know what you guys think!

A theory I had about the movie lore

So, the fact that Rosalina and Peach were sisters and could create life and other things from nothing by simply holding hands was a piece of lore added to the movie that was not present in the games at all. This makes me think that they will possibly add more lore that was not mentioned in the games, with possibly new characters.

The universe needs to be balanced. If the royal sisters can create life, then a logical conclusion could be that there may be a duo in this universe that can destroy life when together in a similar fashion. I think the franchise may introduce this as an idea after a few movies, if the upcoming movies are successful, where a duo destroys everything in a similar mechanism to Rosalina and Peach creating things, just to keep the universe in balance.

To piggyback off of this, the movie makers could possibly set up a "Light vs. Darkness" situation, sort of like Dharkon and Galeem from Smash Ultimate, or have a third entity try to capture both duos to gain total control of the universe.

What do you guys think?

I still find this little detail to be so wholesome

TLDR: **I love that Mario bought Peach an umbrella from New York and that Peach kept it and used it.**

At the end of the first movie, it's implied that the brothers moved to the Mushroom Kingdom but still worked as plumbers in Brooklyn, given that Luigi was still travelling with their toolbox with tools that are not suitable for warp pipes. Plus, in the first movie, Luigi also says something along the lines of, "I'm glad we spent all our life savings on this commercial!", meaning that the brothers had no money.

This meant that Mario worked as a plumber with Luigi and somehow saved enough money in the few months in between both movies to buy Peach an expensive gift. He, despite working a blue-collar job, is implied to have gone to a very expensive store in Brooklyn/New York to buy Peach an expensive umbrella/parasol that she would like, despite not having any life savings for himself otherwise. Moreover, he spent enough time shopping and looking for it to ensure that the parasol was pink, which he figured was Peach's favourite colour.

I also love how Peach said "I love it!" and then kept the parasol WITH HER for the rest of the movie, instead of keeping it aside. She literally just decided it was now a part of her existence, I guess. That parasol ended up saving her life (and Mario and Toad's) multiple times in the movie, and I'm pretty sure also had a higher screentime than Rosalina 😭

But, anyway, I find the parasol thing to be much more wholesome than I initially thought, now that I've thought about it some more.

An idea I had (TV show/miniseries)

The Luma here mentioned to Peach, "Our Mama read us so many bedtime stories about you."

I think it would be really cool to have a miniseries/series of short episodes where it shows Rosalina reading a story to the Lumas about Peach, and each episode is a different adventure Peach went on during her youth (growing up, before meeting Mario). This would be similar to the Pixie Shorts from Tinkerbell, if any of you are familiar with those.

It would be epic to have it in 3D, but 2D could work as well. What do you guys think?

What is your favorite music/soundtrack across both movies?

For me, it's definitely the Super Mario Galaxy theme, because it adds to much aura to Rosalina and really fits her so well (I've nicknamed it Rosalina's theme because of this). I love how they used it whenever she appeared or was referenced, and I love that they included the full thing in the end-credits.

I also loved the orchestrated version of the Super Star music in the first movie. It was perfect for that moment in the film.

What side characters/villains from the first two movies would you want reappearing in the third movie?

For me, it's the sleepy King guy Peach ended up hurting at her wedding in the first movie. I felt like that was kind of unnecessary and just really sad overall, and honestly, it makes me dislike Peach's character in the movie. I know in the games, they somehow come back fine (most of the time), so I would love to see him return and be an angry version of himself, and a genuine obstacle to the main cast.

I also want Kamek causing more issues in the third movie, since he is free and would likely do so.
