FLOOD OF DOWNVOTES

(Closing notifications now. Thanks for talking with me!!!)

While I admit that we are only few episodes deep in the series, there are these few issues that make the power system a problem. I hope I haven't gotten anything wrong.

  • Why are there no mass producing spells (yet)?

I understand that this is an unreal version of the world where everybody is goody good and everybody wants to help each other, there is absolutely no wayyy that there aren't stencils of important spells, or at least small factories where labourers are drawing spells all day and selling them.

  • They have fountain pens, but they dont have a ruler (a fucking straight stick) or a compass?

Insane that nobody has made things to help drawing geometrical shapes.

  • Since wizardry inventions seem to persist indefinitely, why do we not have trains and other machines that siphon energy?

Incredible that we have spells that seem to last a long time, yet no machines have been introduced yet. One of the first ideas that should have come to being after a wind spell is unlocked is to attach it behind a cart. One of the first ideas that should have come to being after a pyreball is to make steam engine equivalents.

This power system excels in the fact that it is largely independent from the sorceror. Why do we not have machines yet?

  • The entire system breaks conservation of energy rules.

You guys are probably laughing right now, but even in a fantasy world this is a major problem. If the bigger the circle, the bigger the spell holds, then there is no real limits to how big a circle can be drawn, and consequently how much power can be extracted. In the usual fantasy animes, it is usually implied that a special form of energy (mana/Cursed Energy/Chakra/Nen) exists and it is either generated from spirituality/emotions/other phenemenon that at least has some sort of exhaustion condition/channeling limit.

While I agree this is not a shounen and world ending fights may never occur due to the insane censorship of wizardry, this is an issue.

  • There should be more focus on creating new spells than being able to draw an old spell.

Sorcerors can outsource the task of drawing to artists, and focus on creating new spells instead. Why is access to the library so limited? They should prevent access to the dark magic sections, but the main library should be open to all.

I hope that these things are addressed at some point.

I am not questioning why there are no ink tree (Silverwood Tree) plantations yet, since Ink trees have barely been discussed till now, but I hope that it is not something that can be farmed easily. But since a single shop has one, then I would assume that there are multiple such trees, which means that it might be possible to farm them, which makes this situation ridiculous. There is no way a power system limited only by the amount of ink present is not mass manufacturing ink.

Right now, I feel like there is a lot of worldbuilding missing in the story. Incredible animation obviously, and I am sure that the main story will be great. But I would like to see the magic world being explored at some point.

Also, it sucks that the quality of spells do not depend on the sorceror, but instead on how neat the spell drawn is. Which would mean that in case of fights, anybody who comes in with a larger stash of spells they drew leisurely are much likelier to have an advantage. This makes feats look kinda tame: the time Qifrey beat the dragon wasn't when he was being stylish and aura farming in the air, it was when he actually drew the circle in a very leisurely pace.

There is just, SO MUCH POTENTIAL in this power system, but it is being wasted. Watching this anime feels like somebody discovered electricity, but is using it to make their hair stand on its end instead of commercializing and researching it.

In August 2025, Google announced a new requirement: starting September 2026, every Android app developer must register centrally with Google before their software can be installed on any device. Not just Play Store apps: all apps. This includes apps shared between friends, distributed through F-Droid, built by hobbyists for personal use. Independent developers, church and community groups, and hobbyists alike will all be frozen out of being able to develop and distribute their software.

"Registration requires:

  • Paying a fee to Google
  • Agreeing to Google's Terms and Conditions
  • Surrendering your government-issued identification
  • Providing evidence of your private signing key
  • Listing all current and all future application identifiers"

I am not sure how well open source contributors and hobby devs are gonna continue now.

I can't express my feelings atp😭

My story is worth hearing guys.

So I was in 4th class when me and my parents and my brother shifted to Atlantis because of my dad's work.

I did my middle school and high school 1 from Intelligent Fish High School (Blubblulblubllubllbuub).

I always wanted to do medicine, and honestly I missed my grandparents and India. I always wanted to do my graduation from India. As I am an OCI mermaid, I came here to India in May 2022 and started preparing for NEET with boards, and honestly it was tough.

I knew English, I knew Hindi, but in Atlantis the whole education is in Fish, so I was damn confused in the start with terms and naming stuff. Like I knew what is velocity, displacement and acceleration, but since I studied it in Atlantis as Blub, blubbubu, and bluuuu?bbblu respectively, I used to get confused and my peers used to laugh.

I did my 11th and 12th from Allen (not Kota) and 1st drop from Aakash, 2nd without coaching(ghat ghat ka paani piya hai, literally😭)

Istg just work hard, like I was a 300 number scorer till last year. Mere 2025 me 190 number aaye, but this year I did it with my own hard work. I didn't join any coaching cause they all used to make fun of me in coaching, whether teacher or kids, nobody believed me. They said an mermaid won't get any quota or country resident like priority. Why this partiality? I'm treated as a foreigner in Atlantis, not getting perks, now here too.

But now I scored 650+😭🔥 I'm sure I'll get a med school, I'm happy af.

Ab ghar jaunga next week, almost 14 months baad🥹

And yeah i discovered jeeneetards and medicoetards in 2023. Honestly, I loved it :) I used to laugh seeing all your comments and humor. I had an old account, but I deleted it without ever posting. Now I'm finally doing it!😭 I love these two subreddits

I'm not sure if I phrased that correctly or not🥀Just ask if you didn't understand what I wrote above

Assuming Megumi is actually alive rn, both of him and Yuka can summon Mahoraga. What exactly happens then? Assuming both Mahoraga are equal in base power, how would the fight look?

My bet: >!So when two Mahoragas love each other very much.....!<

Shangri-La Frontier is an incredible watch. While I constantly sing praises for this anime, at the same time, it is kinda difficult to classify this anime. It isn't exactly an isekai, considering that nobody actually gets trapped in an MMORPG. It is not a shounen anime, considering that... well there are literally no stakes. The protagonist is NOT trapped in another world. The world is NOT ending. Nobody is sick and nobody is putting lives at stake. There is literally a gamer playing games. It is kinda like a slice-of-life anime in the sense that it has the same vibe as watching a streamer playing games, diving into lore and exploiting bugs, but at the same time the incredible action sequences make it feel like an action anime. At the same time, it has great characterization and all the people present feel like real living humans. Insane comedy too, it is fun to see the Wolfgang trio goof about.

At the same time, it offers a lot of things that only games can offer: mindblowing unique boss fights, boring ass ore and XP farming, insane lore and easter eggs, and high stakes inter clan politics (an even more interesting version of this is unfolding right now in the manga). The NPCs ^((go Emul!!! go Vysache!!!)) are very fleshed out and are fun to watch. ^(trying to avoid strong spoilers lol)

One thing the SLF does justice to is the combat, where it actually feels like a nigh impossible Souls style boss fight. I have seen my friends argue that they are needlessly long, but really, it really solidifies on why nobody has ever beaten the seven colossi before. Bosses are also well designed, and the freedom in the game is featured very well: players with different playstyles and builds have distinctively different styles of combat, and so the action scenes never get boring. The best part is the action sequences aren't just spamming overpowered skills and techniques, but feature actual strategies and improvs, something that is often missing in the similar animes following SAO's footsteps. Every boss has a gimmick, and watching them try and figure out is excellent.

doggo

Another thing that attracts me is that SLF also often shows other games, and how they influence the protagonist. Sunraku takes a lot of inspiration from these games, which is always interesting to see in a game like SLF where you are given a lot of freedom. Also they show the dev's lines of thought too, which fleshes out the world.

Overall, 10/10 watch for me. If you like playing games or seeing content creators like RadBrad who do playthroughs, you will probably like this. It feels very similar to watching a streamer.

Alright, I will end it here.

Gojo states it very simply: just pour positive energy in your cursed technique instead of the negative cursed energy. There are a number of sorcerors shown to use RCT, which is the very basis of the aforementioned Positive energy, simply utilized by the body to heal instead of destroy. But we have very few examples of CTR from these sorcerers.

Even Sukuna never demonstrated a CTR. The only two were Kenjaku and Gojo. Which suggests that other CTs do not have a natural opposite to begin with. Pouring positive energy on a technique doesnt always mean it is going to do something.

"When a shikigami of the Ten Shadows Technique gets killed or destroyed in battle, it can't be summoned or manifested ever again, but its energy is inherited or passed on to the other shikigami."

Sure, it reduces the versatility of the technique, but considering that Mahoraga was Sukuna's main fighting force against Gojo, it might have been worth a shot to play the other shikigami first in order to strengthen the backend finisher Mahoraga.

What I am saying is, if it happened by chance that after Agito was eliminated by Gojo, the power flowed into Demon Dog Totality, Max Elephant, Rabbit escape and Piercing Ox (ie, all the remaining Shikigami after Agito's death), then Sukuna should have quickly summoned them all, so that Gojo could destroy them, and ALL of the stacked power was deposited on Mahoraga.

Agito was in no way comparable to Mahoraga, but it wasn't weak either. I am sure that Mega Mahoraga would have been fascinating.

I feel like the transferring aspect of the Ten Shadows Technique was not utilised properly.

If Yuki could learn their Reverse Cursed Technique Cursed Technique Reversal, does it not hard counter Kenjaku's Gravity?

So, she could use Negative mass to trick gravity into doing the opposite of what Kenjaku wanted, and maybe even mix the positive and negative applications to make her mass zero to completely bypass gravity....

It is interesting how most important sorcerors almost never use CTR.
