Vorige week advies gevraagd mbt roest op mijn remschijf linksachter. Vandaag de remschijf eraf gehaald en, zoals sommige al zeiden, is de binnenkant er nog slechter aan toe. Dit worden dus nieuwe schijven en blokken achter.

Nu snap ik niet helemaal hoe deze roest zo kan ontstaan. Ik zag geen bijzonderheden mbt de blokken maar kon ook niet alles zien omdat ze bij Opel weer eens een ander soort bouten gebruiken waar ik weer een andere doppenset voor moet hebben 😬

Hebben jullie nog een tip waar ik op moet letten als ik de nieuwe schijven en blokken monteer om dat niet weer te laten gebeuren?

Afgelopen april bij de apk een attentiepunt meegekregen dat 1 remschijf roest vertoont op het remvlak. Nu heb ik er een vakantie in Oostenrijk op zitten dus genoeg geremd maar er zit nog steeds roest wat dus niet met remmen weg wil gaan. Ik heb niet goed gekeken hoeveel roest er met de apk op zat.

Ik weet dat het best practice is om beide schijven te vervangen en eigenlijk ook de blokken maar volgens mij zitten deze er nog maar 20/30.000 km op.

Ik kan de schijven en blokken zelf vervangen dat is het probleem niet maar alles kan nog best wat kilometers mee. Wat zouden jullie adviseren. Ik heb geen problemen verder met het remmen. Gewoon doorgaan en niks vervangen, 1 zijde schijf en blokken of toch allebeide.

Ok so ik bought (coming from the 5800x the overpriced I know) 5800x3d 10th anniversary that comes with the carbide ice pad. I have pasted and repasted a lot of IHS and my ocd needs me to smear the paste over the complete ihs. Pls stop the dots crosses and blobs and take the extra 30 seconds to smear it out, my mind yells seeing the trillion click bait videos of applying paste. There is only 1 person that applies the perfect amount of thermal paste, @TronicsFix. I can’t stand the thought that it might not have coverage after pressure.

You can feel it coming that the ice pad does not cover the whole IHS… my ocd does not cope very well with this feeling that’s it does not completely cover the IHS. My temps are fine but now the question.

I need to disassemble my loop because I’m also gonna replace my video card (from 6800xt to 7090 xt). I have the Honeywell ptmd to put on the gpu and also enough for the cpu. Should I replace the ice pad with ptmd to cover the whole IHS or would that be a waste of time effort and recources and just leave the cpu block on it. I’m not at my computer now but I think the temps were around the high 50’s under load.

In my head the thought goes, more coverage is more cooling but I can understand that the less contact is enough to cool the IHS so it doesn’t need all the contact….

So i bought myself a 9070 xt Gigabyte aorus elite. I need a waterblock because I already have a custom loop and this gpu is an upgrade.

There are only 2 options
- Bykski A-A-GV9070GMOC-X
- Alphacool Core RX 9070 XT Aorus Elite mit Backplate

My previous card had a bykski and worked very well but the price difference isn’t that huge anymore and the plate of the alphacool looks better engineered/covering more of the pcb.

Hey all,

I was fixing up a work pc today because the paste dried out on all the pc’s. We have around 10 workstations with the same gigabyte 2080ti turbo edition.

The last one I opened had the weirdest error with the heatsink. It’s not flat anymore but is all deformed. I have opened quite some pc’s but never seen this. Had it overheated extremely or is it a manufacturing error. This is the first time that the gpu has been opened so it has been like 8 years?

The card has never been overclocked and like I said it was in a series of 10 exact same pc’s that had been running the same and had the same workload.
