You grow automatically, the warm center grows you 2.5× faster, and eating someone gives you 40% of their size. It's like snake battle royal!

AI disclosure: this game was built with AI assistance (an AI agent writes most of the code while I spend hours playing it).

growordie.io I spent days building a multiplayer snake game before someone told me slither.io existed. Posting it anyway because I had way too much fun making it.

Hey r/WebGames, first post here, be gentle (or don't, brutal feedback is why I'm here).

So, confession: I built a whole multiplayer snake game before a friend looked at it and went "...you know slither.io exists, right?" I did not. I've been an engineer for 10+ years but this is my first game ever. I just had this idea of a snake that grows on its own, endlessly, where the only goal is to not touch anything. I think I'm nostalgic of the many many hours spent playing archtungdiecurve back in college.

Turns out making a game is the most fun I've had building software in a decade. The real reason this post took so long: every time I sat down to "prepare the launch" I ended up playing it for an hour instead. My all-time record got beaten by someone named djsnacks and I'm still not over it.

Honesty footnote: I leaned hard on AI for a lot of the code (it's 2026 🤷), but every design decision, every "this feels wrong, change it," and every hour lost playing instead of shipping, that's all me and not AI slop.

Tell me what feels off, turn radius, boost cost, everything is tunable and I ship fast.
