This process is easy and takes 15 mins, you only need your phone to do it, ive seen a lot of people confused on how it works so here you go!!

1. Download the Pokemon Home app from the app store on your phone
2. create an account and login to Pokemon Home
3. Go to Pokemon go app, and open Settings > Connected devices and services
4. Add Pokemon Home to your connected services
5. Transfer send any pokemon to Pokemon Home (just catch something random, it doesnt matter what you use) and go to Pokemon Home app to complete the transfer.
6. Go back to Pokemon Go, and find the mystery box item in your inventory. You can use it like an incense, but you can stand still and it still spawns Meltans.

Also something to note: You get a lot of Candy XL by catching these Meltans, way more than regular catches. So you can easily get the 300 candy XL required to max out your Melmetal to level 50 for the level up challenge (you will get a task to max out a pokemons level in order to level up when you hit like 71 or 78 not 100% sure)

You will need to transfer another pokemon to Pokemon Home once a week once the mystery box is able to be activated again. It only took me 2 mystery box openings to get 300 candy XL and a 3300 cp Melmetal.
