Humanoid assistant robots and their presence in our everyday lives.

Today I was watching some videos of the World Humanoid Robot Games taking place in Beijing and I couldn't help to think where are we going with this technology, and I'm not talking about a robotic apocalypse or something like that, let's analyse this subject believing humans can do better.

Every time I see something like this, I can only think about military applications because it's the most profitable way to keep developing these startups/companies, but as the internet was one day only a militaristic implementation, today we can enjoy —in a best or worse way— of it, so, I was wondering if this technology will be available for average people some day and in which form.

I'm obviously being influenced by all scifi books and movies I've read and watched in my life and I can think of course about having humanoid assistant robots that can perform almost every task we need or we don't want to do, so, where would that leave us? They would be for billionaires first? They would be used for space exploration? They could replace us at some point where we can live a life without worries or it's just an illusion? Are we that far of it or we're already in the process?

I'd like to hear your opinions about it.

Back to the essence (no spoilers)

I've watched the first five episodes and I can say that I enjoyed them, we have nostalgia, randomness and pure chaos just like the original show.

I think the essence of what we watched before is still there and it's great so far. The first episode (Fix that tape) as introduction was the best for me, I think we have a new The Power here, it's just another beginning of a background story.

Let's hope the creators are able to deliver their original plan for this show and we can keep having a good time with it too.

Edit: I watched the sixth episode (Boba or Bo-Bust), I must say it was something very similar to Party Pete but it was fun as hell.

Taking Eileen to the space was a great decision

I was watching some episodes from the last season and I really believe taking Eileen instead of CJ or even worse Margaret was an amazing decision for the plot, her character, even though it was secondary, added a lot to the show and to the last season, she was part of the team with no useless dramas and she actually helped all of them at some point.

I also would have liked Pam to go with Benson, I think that could have been great and funny for the story, she as a scientist would have helped to develop a lot of material in space.

Whatever, it's just a random idea in a Saturday afternoon.

I cannot wait for Lost Tapes, I hope they keep delivering a good show.
