Question about sport mode and the shift select
I got a 2014 escape a couple weeks ago as a gift for my grandmother who was moving to retirement home and she gave me her car as my first car a 2014 ford escape SE with the 2L eco boost and 60k miles.
I’ve been slowly going through the manual and figuring out all the bells and whistles of this car and I wanna try and figure out the sport mode and shift select.
Sport motor is just an automatic, but it shifts at higher RPMs and helps with handling when you’re doing “sporty” things.
The shift select you pick the gear your in I know it’s not like driving a real manual will the computer stop you from damaging the car and trans if you try to shift too early or at the wrong time or shift too much?
Like it just gives you the option of dropping into a lowered gear when you’re going up a hill to get more torque.
How carefully do you need to be when you’re manually shifting? Is it super risky? If you don’t know what you’re doing that you’re gonna break something?
Not letting me add my own mp3s to iCloud library help?
I’ve tried everything I’ve seen online but it keeps saying not available for iCloud library and when I tried to convert and make a AAC version it also refused any ideas?
Looking to lease a car 2026 Nissan versa 1000$ down for 305 a month is this a bad idea?
Title says it all I’m looking to lease a 2026 Nissan versa with Manual transmission (I’ve been told they hold up better than the automatic) as a car that I can take to college currently I drive a 08 Prius with 160k and the original battery that I love but unfortunately isn’t in my name that my parents don’t want sitting in a college parking lot especially in the winter. They are offering to lease a car for the next 4 years to get my through college and my first year beyond that after that I would have the option to buy it out or get somthing else.
I’m looking for somthing that will be reliable enough to last the next 4 years and then I can get rid of that’s also relatively cheap would the Nissan
Versa be a good option? Or do yall have any other recs.
If you can’t afford basic vet care for a pet you shouldn’t have one
I’m not talking about the surprise 3000$ vet bill when your dog eats a sock and needs it removed surgically. I’m talking about The bare basics spay/neuter and Vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm prevention IDNC where you get this for your pet but it should be paramount to animal abuse if you cannot provide it from somewhere be it a humane society or ASPCA that provides vet care at low cost or your local vet clinic. I might be an asshole elitist for saying this but it’s the most basic stuff.
