My first ever UA student OC: Shoma Yung (Need help deciding how his costume should look.)

Hero name: The full metal hero, Jacket

Quirk: Lead - This quirk user controls lead, up to bullet speeds.

Personality: Yung is very calm and patient. He is also very opinionated but only shares his thoughts when asked. This is because he's known to be brutally honest about how he feels about or views his peers. Sometimes it can be funny how matter of factly he can air out someones drama, but sometimes he can be hurtful with the best intentions. The idea that his quirk can easily kill weighs on him, and he never hesitates to admit that. He loves potted plants and hates watching TV and has no patience for social media, now banned on most platforms.

Fighting style and support gear: Yung specializes against opponents armed with guns, due to the fact that he can sieze control of their bullets. He also carries lead plating with thin wire tied to different plates to rapidly wrap around villains for easy capture.

Costume: What do you guys think would suit him?

Which version of these is the best idea for a silenced spy gun?

I've narrowed it down to these 4. You'll notice flickering the disguise is the main idea going for all of them, but a variety of stealth utility and drawbacks that I can't fucking pick between. Which would fit best in the mod?

Tf2 classified merc tier list based on how bad they need new weapons. what do you think? what is it you feel your main is lacking rn?

I'll preface this by saying that I'd be happy with the mod not getting more weapons going forward, its very enjoyable as is, especially after the latest patch. There is merit in wanting no more weapons added to avoid bloat, however I'll point out that this dev team is very diligent in ensuring no weapon is stronger or weaker than any other, making the mass shitty weapon chum of livetf2 a non issue. that being said I respect wanting the game slimmer.

now on to my reasonings for my tiers

Engineer: There is a lot of untapped potential here. The bounce pad is a fantastic leap in the right direction, but he has more utility and flexibility he can offer yet thru maybe other wrenches or pdas, as well as an untapped Texan arsenal he could have in his primary. Right now he's just engineer, when we know he could be so much more.

Spy: While he's actually in a really good place right now, its hard to ignore the potential of what the sheer competence of the tf2 classified devs can come up with for the sapper slot having learned from the mistakes of the past involving the red tape recorder. Its also interesting to think how Spy could be shaked up and given new life with entirely knew kinds of backstabs. Theres a lot that can be done here.

Scout: He's just incredibly simple as is. Picking between rapid fire or burst fire for either slot is all he has going for him. additional mobility utility from his melee that sacrifices lethality, like the atomizer vertically or the baby faces speed would do a lot for him. even if you didnt want to give him another melee, theres a lot of untapped ground here. the bricks funny and the nailgun has its beloved use case, but thats all the depth to them.

Medic: That primary slot is hard to ignore. The shadow of the crossbow looms over this mod sometimes, and the Rejuvinator barely quenches peoples thirst for ranged first healing. But if a primary was to be added it would have to be as week as the syringe gun, meaning people would probably be underwhelmed by the execution. not only that, there's also the argument that his wide variety of melees and mediguns should have him lower on this list.

Civilan: one more option for melee and hes good forever.

Sniper: sniper is in a real decent spot, with each primary holding their niches rather well, but its hard to not mourn jarate sometimes. its gross and a little insanely strong, but its hard to imagine a secondary even half as inventive as that was. Its the golden (ew) standard for sniper secondaries with strategic applications, and all the other back bling options are fucking horrible passive safety blankets for bad snipers. but he doesnt reeeeaaallly need it. it would still be nice tho

Pyro: besides engineer and medic, who have more important roles than their primaries, pyro is the only class with no alternative primary damage dealing weapon. While it feels really egregious to not have a flamethrower like the dragons fury that rewards persicion, his wide selection of secondaries kind of makes him feel whole. theres something for mid range, long range, mobility and survivability. Another flamethrower is just more fire. fun, but not that new.

Demo: He has a really large variety of combos he can work with right now, but it has to be asked. why the hell give him the gunboats if he wasn't going to get a goddamn market gardener? as is, all thats good for is spawncamping with stickies.

Heavy: He's got a very nice and new gun, he's got a sandvich that doesnt overshadow the shotgun, and hes got a really engaging melee. He's fine.

Soldier: He's in a really good place. hes not missing a whole lot from the base game that wouldnt be a little too strong for the mod. the rpg is a blast to use if you dont wanna rocket jump, the anchor is fucking fantastic if you do. he's fine.

I'm in love with 3.0.11

Big fan of 4ctf more or less going back to "you have to cap once from other team to win, so you can't just speed run the weakest teams intel.

As a pyro main, I think it's reasonable to bring over the accuracy incentives like in livetf2. If I aim, this nerf means nothing. If not, I'm punished. Fair.

On that same note, the harvester nerf makes me sad, but I always knew my favorite weapon was too good to last. It still gets the job, but now it feels like the crit part of the weapon will do more heavy lifting. Oh yeah, did they intentionally get rid of the meter, or is that a bug? Maybe they already fixed it, whatever.

The cyclops adjustments are nice. Now its got more utility in short circuting projectiles and less power in the crutch department. Every grenade launcher using demo I come across aims like they're actually half blind, cuz everyone good at demo is using the cyclops for its consistency. It gets to a point you're using the detonation control as a crutch. Not nearly in the same zip code as crutching with the dead ringer, but it gets obnoxious being completely unable to dodge your Bluetooth grenade. Just ease up, maybe try the dynamite with the grenade launcher now that it gives more shots.

Speaking of, the dynamite packs ok. It needed something going for it, but I think what it really needs is the stickybomb launchers clip size getting fucking halved. Whatever, at least now I have this going for me when I'm refusing to unequip it for a clearly superior alternative out of my need to be a hipster.

The Rejuvenator is fucking my ears missionary. Its like having diet double donks on medic. Maybe I forgot how it sounded, and they didnt change much, but it's so crisp to me now. And being able to fire grenades thru people to whoever needs it is a nice touch. Gives me some flexibility.

Shock Therapy whatever

Fucking finally. ITS ABOUT FUCKING TIME THEY GOT RID OF THAT NEEDLESS HEALTH BOOST. THANK YOU SO MUCH I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE REST OF THE UPDATE, THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT. Its not even thst the hunting revolver was op, it was about the principle of the thing. Reduced zoom is not a downside thst warrants additional complete nonsense buff stats. Theres a reason the 1.5 DOMINATED siege for its whole existence. Being mid range is a brutally powerful thing when you arent held back by projectile jank. Youre so much more flexible, and thats all the gun needs going for it. I know most of you loudmouths are bothered by this things ability to shred in the hands of a good sniper in a similar way that im sometimes bothered by the cyclops forgiving projectile control, but first off, I'm not allowed to get upset about cyclops crutching now that its nerfed, and second off, the alternative to a good sniper with the hunting revolver shredding is a good sniper fucking instkiilling. At least you stand a chance to survive against the hunting revolver. Learn to respect a sightline. I don't think the hunting revolver needs any more changes. Just get rid of the red text on it, its not a real downside. Like the huntsman, it doesnt need stats.

9/10 update, please give dizzy and bubbly particle effects to the demo when he gets drunk off the bottle taunt so that people can tell they got killed by someone struggling to shoot straight.

Prisoner Work-Release Personnel File: Gus "Joyride" Lovely

Name: Gus Rosie Lovely (Male, 41, half-white half-hispanic, no living relatives)

Skillset: Getaway driver, stuntman, vehicular maintenance, heavy machinery, first aid.

Was a instrumental member of a small time gang that saw huge success overnight due to Guses' quirk. The gang entered a conflict with the cartels, and Gus was the only survivor. Procedures: Heroes in the presence of Gus are encouraged to interrogate or observe him for any crimes such as tax evasion, mattress tag ripping, taking the lord's name in vain, music piracy, mail fraud, identity theft, impersonation of a police officer, indecent exposure, or verbally declaring that he will assassinate the president of the United States using a 9mm stored in the glove box. The only things Gus is to be arrested for is possession of narcotics, firearms, >!sexual assault!<, vehicular manslaughter or quirk use on living thing.

Bonus: How does your hero OC feel about the prospect of riding a bus driven by an obnoxious former villain?

Villain turned Hero Concept: Joyride

Was flipping over this idea in my head so I decided to share it, input on the quirk would be appreciated.

The dudes quirk is called Rulebreaker. By committing a crime before witnesses privy to relevant law, the quirk activates, and allows the user to violate a law of physics. His favorite use of the quirk is to steal vehicles and drive them on walls, completely ignoring how gravity ought to obey. The quirks only weakness is apprehension. If any such witness privy to the relevant law manages to simply touch the user with the intention of stopping them, the quirk deactivates.

Joyride is actually a former villain who decided to turn over a new leaf and start working for, if not within, the right side of the law, after all of his friends were killed by a gang running a violent protection racket. He specifically works as a liscenced bus driver to deliver heroes to active crime scenes. But since his reckless driving is now legal and permitted, he has started committing blatant tax fraud and music piracy before every drive in plain view of his passengers to activate his quirk. He has a particularly bad relationship with Jirou Kyoka because of this.

"Unfasten your seat belts please."

"Does that help activate your quirk?"

"Haha, no." floors it

"Thanks to you, theyre auditing the department again. How did you requisition a Dixie horn and a $7,000 paint job as an official piece of support gear for your bus?"

"See, its this interesting beurocratic navigation technique I call lying and cheating shamelessly."

"What kind of paint job costs seven grand?!"

"He charged me $250 per lady."

"per WHAT?"

"Every time I hear some seat staining rookie hero wannabe lose his free Michelin Star grsde school lunch on my black leather upholstery, I want to learn if my quirk works with hate crimes."

"Is this what- hurk -spirit airl-?"

Joyride yanks the ebrake, and the bus screeches to a dead stop on the underside of a suspension bridge

"WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT?! I'LL SHOVE A COMMERCIAL JET SO FAR UP YOUR ASS, THE CONTROL TOWER WILL STILL THINK IT'S AIRBORNE!"

If anyone knows German I could use some help naming this guy.

The current name I'm going for is Heinrich Hautlos, which according to Google translate, Hautlos means skinless. But I'm a little worried that from the perspective of a German, the name Heinrich Skinless sounds a bit silly despite it rolling off the tongue quite nicely.

Rescue Hero first responder challenge! Villain showdown reported downtown, what does your rescue hero do?

THIS COLLAB/CHALLENGE IS FOR RESCUE HEROES ONLY!

Two villains are in a highly destructive deathmatch in highly populated downtown Tokyo.

One is head of a known extortion ring, Mrs. Wakatsuruha, aka The Bloodied Witness. Her quirk, Supervision, gives her the abilities to see through the eyes of anyone in her line of sight, as well as provide additional focus and skill to those under her startlingly intense blue gaze. Since the fight has begun, her gang of hired muscle has been cut down, and she is in combat using black market support gear that allows her to fire multiple entanglement cables or grappling lines from armored braces on her arms, shoulders and back.

The second is unknown, a heteromorph covered with pitch black fur, flowing longer from the head, face and necm, with a dense short but velvety fuzz covering his body and limbs. His eyes are extremely large and pure black, and his teeth are serrated. His quirk appears to be a powerful leap with every skip he performs, but he is wielding an sloppily homemade battle cleaver, the blade of which is forged crudely around a tree branch. The blade completely and catastrophically rends asunder whatever it cuts into, leaving buildings sliced completely through and free to collapse, or canyon sized gashes in the earth. Every time the man throws the axe, it always comes back to him as if magnetically attracted to him.

The two are leaving a path of carnage in their wake. Witness dodges each of Unknowns attacks, but the supernatural blade still slices through the environment and occupants alike. As the Witness pulls herself from building to building, using her quirk to know exactly where and when to dodge and counterattack with whipping flails, Unknown leaps after her, laughing euphorically as he tears down buildings to eliminate spots to grapple. She's visibly enraged, but he's having the time of his life. They are both maneuvering with incredible speed and skill needed to avoid each other's attacks and both prolong and extend the scope of the disastrous conflict. Neither is so much at flinching at the mounting bloodshed. These people are practiced in violence in a way that most small time villains and big time heroes aren't.

Heres where your OC comes in.

They are the first on the scene, because they were just minding their own business crossing the street (on duty, in full costume) when Witness suddenly swung through the intersection using the lightpoles, and speared several cars with her cables, throwing them into the sky behind her as an obstacle for Unknown, who throws his cleaver straight through them to clear his flight path. It continues directly towards the busy crosswalk you are standing in, right for you. You can see it coming, and you have time to react.

What is the FIRST THING your OC does? You may ask as many questions about what your OC can observe in the moment before deciding, but once you decide what action to take, depending on your choice and use of your specific quirk, you'll be graded SPECIFICALLY ON THE INITIAL CHOICE. It also helps to know who your rescue hero is and what quirk they have. Hell, after I give the grade you can keep providing additional actions to boost said grade, provided you survive initial contact with Mr Chops U In 2.

Izuku's car break down, and it changes his life.

Izuku laid back in the reclined drivers seat of his car, parked on the side of an empty dirt road in the middle of Nowhere, Bumfuck. Steam poured out the open hood of the used vehicle as Izuku waited on the tow service to pick him up. It had already been five hours of waiting out in the hot desert, and the sun was only just starting to set. The serene beauty of the American country side was hard to appreciate with a buckets worth of sweat pinning Izukus hair to the front of his face.

The sound of an engine roused him from his depression. Izuku perked up, spotted motion on the road behind him, and immediately got out of the car to flag down his savior. He waved down the tow truck, and felt his heart sink as he got a good look at the service. He hadn't expected much, but holy shit. The truck looked even worse than his car, like it was buried, dug up, and driven off a bridge. The entire chassis shook with an imminent threat of collapse as it tumbled its way in front of Izukus car, like there wasn't a single shock absorber still functioning in the whole rusted mess. Its engine made a sickening booming noise as it turned off, backfiring a little. The driver kicked the door open and stepped out the vehicle in a showy flourish.

The first thing that came to Izukus mind was "that is the biggest hick I have ever seen". The man was lanky and tall in the limbs, and a little stout and fat in the body, with a misshapen head, droopy eyes, a punched flat nose and a smile that was mostly buckteeth. He was wearing a bright blue set of overalls over a red shirt darkened with oil stains.

The man sniffed the air, and hocked a loogie onto the road.

"Wulp! Dat right dere is a blown head gasket if I ever smelt'un. Them Subarus are only as reliable as much as ye change oil. Wit out regular maintenance they throw a right tantrum. Not gonna be a cheap fix, tell you what."

Izuku huffed.

"Alright. How much for a tow?"

"Ah, won't be too pricy, but it depends where yer headin. Whatcha doin all the way out here? Little off the beaten path."

"Looking for my father. I thought he was in California, but I was wrong. I was hoping to find him, find work through him, with him in America. Now, I don't know what I'm looking for."

"Where you from?" The man squinted at him, still smiling but properly scrutinizing him in a way that made Izuku nervous.

"...Why?"

"Well, if you wanna know where you goin', first you gotta know where you been."

That was... surprisingly philosophical coming from a guy who probably couldn't spell 'philosophy'.

"I'm Japanese."

"Well, Konichiwa!" The man smiled wider. "I been to Japan a little, but it was so fancy I couldn't tell up from down sometimes. And yer ice cream sucks."

"Whats wrong with Japanese ice cream?!"

"Ice cream should give you brain freeze, not a spice blast." The man grumbled as he wiped away the bubbling oil with a rag. "So yer from Japan. Why leave? Japan's crazy, but its real darn nice."

"...Well, I just couldn't make my dreams come true, without a quirk. But, I figured, All Might made his start here, maybe I could find some beginning for myself, figure out how he became so great, find a piece of that for myself."

"I know plenty o folks with no superpowers, what cantcha do without one? Heck, I seen people be great without em, too"

"I wanted to be a hero."

"...Yknow, I met plenty of lots of heroes in my day."

"Really?! Who?"

"Haha, it was a doozy of an adventure. Movies don't do it no justice. They were flyin all over the place punchin bad guys, savin kids, fightin off evil zombie and demons and throwing planets and explosions and big robots and whoo boy was it a doozie. And I got to shake All Might's hand and got him to sign my truck!" He hitched a thumb over his shoulder.

Izuku peered past the enthusiastic mechanic to see the beat up tow truck with hardly a hint of paint left on it.

"That, uh, sounds nice."

"Sounds n- what, you don't believe me?"

"No, I believe you! It's just, demons, throwing planets?"

"Sheeewwwwt, you'd know Deku. You was there too!"

"What?" Izuku asked, suddenly standing on a curbside in Japan.

"Hey nerd! Tell the American to hurry up, we're gonna be late!" Katsuki yelled from the drivers seat of the sports car the tow truck driver was currently changing the tire of. Izuku looked from him to the bright blue tow truck with All Mights signature printed onto the tow hitch.

"All done, King Expulsion Maroon Girder Mafia Dynaguy, sir! That'll be seven hundred thousand yen."

"Pay him, Deku, let's get fucking going. I'll pay you back later."

In a daze, Izuku felt around his suit for his wallet (he was wearing a suit holy crap that felt expensive) and found his funds obscenely full.

"Uh... here."

"No problem, good buddy, anything for my favorite heroes! Take care now, don't hit any more potholes!"

"Not a problem, I'll make sure he drives safe, and I'll make sure I learn how to change a tire! Hella manly dude!" Kirishima praised, hanging out the passenger side window.

"Idiot." Katsuki muttered.

Izuku slowly walked around the car to the passenger seat, and took a look at his face in the mirror. It had scars. He slowly got in and settled into the extremely plush backseat.

"Buckle up extras. We got a party to get to."

"Later, Mater!" Kirishima waved out the window as they drove off. Izuku turned and stared as Mater waved back, and got into his shining blue truck.

"You good, dude? You seem a little off, Midoribro." Kirishima glanced back at Izuku.

Izukus head spun as he remembered a whole other life, of being given One For All, making friends, becoming a hero. For what felt like the first time in a long time, he smiled.

Need a quirk that works well with a heavy metal throwing Spear/Javelin/Harpoon

So I got this guy im working on, he's a somewhat eccentric (batshit insane in the sense that he has no impulse control and starts violent brawls in his own throne room with his own royal guard) king of Britain. He has to have a quirk that pairs well with his primary weapon, a huge guilded and engraved spear that he likes throwing at people with surprising range and force.

I don't really want a trident loyalty type quirk, I'm trying to think of an unusual combination with a thrown melee or something that simply covers up the weaknesses involved in throwing your single already very long reaching weapon away from you.

Basically, this person (could be male or female, nobody knows) has been targeting public places all over the world. Whoever it is targets places like a town square, a park, a restaurant, an art installation, somewhere that has a lot of people during the day and is empty at night. Overnight, every surface is covered in spray painted graffiti of the word "FIGHT" in the local dominant language. Occasionally, there are also random sentences littered among the dense writing, like "you have to keep going" "don't stop fighting" "victory or death" "the war rages on" "love and hatred means nothing". The graffiti is always black spray paint, but the chemical composition and brand differs every time. Once the area is heavily populated enough, explosives hidden in the area are detonated remotely. What could their quirk be, and should the public call its new enemy? The quirk could have SOME uses, but it can't be something that can be called back or connected to the attacks whatsoever.
