Why does tata steel charge 6k just for an internship, shouldn’t be it be in other way around

Just saw a linkedin post, people posting about their internship there later on I discovered that tata steel charges them
Like what’s going on?

Career Crossroads: Mechanical + Industrial Safety + Psychology — What Would You Do?

I’m posting this on behalf of a friend who has built a pretty unusual combination of **technical, safety and psychology qualifications**, and we’re trying to figure out what direction would make the most sense long-term

She is currently working as a **Safety Professional at Tata Steel**, as a **Work Safety & Environment Inspector (WSEI) in the Hot Strip Mill**.
Her professional experience includes:
Steel plant operations
Coke plant operations
Safety audits
Risk assessment
Statutory compliance
Safety training
Vendor/contractor safety
Incident & near-miss reporting
Workplace safety and environmental inspections

Her qualifications are:
**10th / Matriculation** — 83%
**12th (PCM)** — 60%
**ITI (Fitter – Mechanical)** — 73%
**Diploma in Mechanical Engineering** — 78%
**PG Diploma in Industrial Safety** — 85%
**BA Psychology (Hons.)** — 66%, IGNOU
**PG Diploma in Guidance & Counselling** — 75%, Kolhan University
**Master’s in Psychology** — Currently pursuing

If you had **this exact educational and professional profile**, what would you choose?
Would you **double down on industrial safety and aim for senior management**, or would you leverage the Psychology qualifications to move into a more specialised field?
And realistically, **which path has the best combination of job security and earning potential in India over the next 10–15 years?**
I’d especially appreciate responses from people currently working in **EHS/HSE, steel/manufacturing, occupational safety, psychology, HR/L&D or related fields**.
