Medical appointments

So I’m running into an issue here that I need help figuring out.
I got called yesterday by my doctors office that wants me to go in urgently for an appointment with them. I’ve been dealing with finding diagnoses for a while now and this is the first time they’ve wanted to see me physically so quickly so it does have me kinda worried
Now the problem is, I moved recently and my doctor is 7 hours away and said this appointment cannot be handled virtually. The next time I’d be physically capable of making that trip is next week but there’s two shifts that get in my way of that in my line. I want to get those shifts off but I’m not sure how to go about it. What’s the best thing to do to ensure that I can do it?

ETA: I have already asked coworkers about shift swaps, nobody’s available.
We have plenty of casual workers but I need to figure out a way to give up the shifts
I’m fairly new at my job but past my probation so I dont know a whole lot about how these things work.
ALSO: I’m a temp employee and don’t have any personal days in my bank balances for some reason

Apprentice advice Alberta

Hello, my husband is a HET apprentice in Alberta and started working in it in April 2024.
We lived in northern Alberta and he was working for a small company and had/still has a great relationship with the shop manager/foreman from there. The shop ended up shutting down and the boss offered to move him to their location in Central Alberta for a few weeks of work. The boss in central Alberta liked him and asked that he move down, so that’s what we did, and only a few months later the boss in central Alberta had a personal conflict with him and fired him. It was deemed a wrongful termination but my husband moved onto a different job very quickly after. Now the issue is that in all of this he did not get his blue book filled out by either boss from that company. He would bring it up to them and they’d say they’d look at it another time. And then proceeded to fire him before filling it out.
His new boss at the new job said he would help him to get those hours signed off on, and they had people from the apprentice board come in a couple weeks ago to go over everything and it all seemed to be going well, but I guess they sent something to the boss in central Alberta for him to sign off on hours, and that boss denied it. He has been nothing but an issue for us since he fired my husband in trying to get his hours signed off on. Is there anything we can do, or anyone we can reach out too because this was a lot of hours that he is now missing due to the boss having a personal conflict with him 😵‍💫😵‍💫
Any advice would be appreciated
(My husband is going to reach out to the boss in northern Alberta again as those hours were never signed off on either but that still leaves several months of hours unaccounted for)

Game tracking

I’ve been downloading games off of the EarnStar app to complete tasks in them and I allow tracking when I open a new game but EarnStar is not tracking my progress. It won’t update when I complete tasks in apps for the last few days. My app is all up to date and tracking is allowed for the apps

Diagnosis???

About a year ago I went to the doctor about severe pelvic pain typically around the time of my periods or when my apps would tell me to expect my period but I have PCOS so there’s many times I’d go months without actually bleeding but still get the pain right around that time. I went in suspecting endometriosis but my doctor ended up finding celiac disease
Just recently my grandma on moms side got diagnosed with colon cancer and got a biopsy and they found endometriosis.
I have heard there can be a connection between celiac and endometriosis so just looking to find any advice. Should I still try to push for that diagnosis? I’m still experiencing the pelvic pain but have cut out gluten completely
ETA: have dealt with severe pain pretty consistently outside of just the time around when my period should come. Severe pain with penetrative sex, also bladder pain pretty consistently but negative for UTI commonly

Canadian celiacs

Any Canadian celiacs out there been successful in claiming disability?
I’ve gotten the blood test and scope/biopsy to confirm my diagnosis
I am aware of the tax credit for it but I have heard about a possibility of claiming disability if I get a doctor to fill out forms for me.

Employment insurance question

So this is going to be a bit of a longer one but any advice would be much appreciated! (I am planning on contacting Service Canada tomorrow but it is late and looking for advice before-hand)

So bit of back story, my husband works in the trades and the company he was working for had several branches but it’s a small business just two locations in Alberta. He was working at one branch when it got shut down due to unforeseen circumstances and his boss offered him a few weeks of work at the other branch (7 hours away) while he looked for another job in our home town (August 2025) so he travelled and was staying in a travel trailer provided by the boss at this new job location while I stayed behind in our home town and continued working at my job. After a few weeks the manager at the location my husband was working at really liked him and wanted to keep him there and the boss offered to help him with relocating to this new location (September 2025) I put in my two weeks notice at my job, last day dating September 28, 2025, but was told to still apply for EI considering I was leaving my job due to unforeseen circumstances, being that my husbands work was being relocated which was one of the approved reasons according to service Canada.
I moved down to stay with my husband but it’s a small business town we moved to, and not many houses were available so we continued living in the travel trailer for a few months until we found suitable housing, during this time I recieved a single call at around 5:30am MST in which I didn’t answer and hadn’t checked my voicemail as I had been quite busy dealing with the life adjustment. A few weeks later I login to MSCA and see my EI claim had been denied due to not enough information. Come to find out that phone call was from a claims adjuster (I believe, or something along those lines from service Canada) (mid October 2025) I tried calling service Canada but got stuck in a queue and never ended up getting through and again life was busy so I never ended up getting through to them (yes I understand this was my mistake for not getting through to them then) I was applying for work in this small town and it did take a while as we had clearly just moved in, and in this town everyone knows everyone so nobody would call, until I eventually got employment in January 2026, and in between October to January we ended up finding housing, getting our UHaul and moving 7 hours away from home which was lots of work on its own.
Now months later I’m doing research on if it’s possible to still receive benefits for that time backdated, and things I’m finding online seem to be saying I can but I do see mixed things on it as well. I’m just looking to see if anyone has experienced anything similar. I do have receipts of our U-Haul, my job applications from those months (being ready and willing to work) and other proof of the relocation for my husbands job, just again looking for any advice.
Willing to answer any questions in the comments this was a bit of a confusing time and pretty hard to explain everything here
Thanks!!
