Really wanna know who's fault is this and could i get penalty in irl?

I cleaned my gaming console completely, reassembled it, and it started making a lot of noise, only during games. The noise was so loud that I was honestly shocked. I think the problem is that I haven't changed the thermal paste. It hasn't been changed in 5-6 years. I just don't have any, and I don't know which one is best for the PS4. So maybe someone can tell me if thermal paste will solve the problem? The console is working perfectly now, the only thing is it's very noisy. I'd like to solve this problem before buying a PS5 so I can sell the PS4.
