Recent engineering graduate looking for legit online side income where to start?

Hey everyone,

I’m a recent engineering graduate from India, currently looking for a legit online side hustle. I’m still building my skills, so I’m looking for beginner-friendly work I can start without much experience.

Not interested in crypto, MLMs, referrals, gambling, or anything that requires upfront payment.

I’m considering things like AI training, data annotation, micro tasks, transcription, VA work, tutoring, or remote part-time jobs.

If you’ve actually done any of these, I’d love to hear:

Which platform?

How much can a beginner realistically earn?

Is there consistent work?

How do you get paid?

Would you recommend it?

Even ₹5k–₹15k/month would be a good start. Looking for something genuinely legit and sustainable.

Title: Looking for a MacBook Air M5 in Kerala – Everywhere it's Out of Stock 😕

Hi everyone,

I'm based in Kerala and have been trying to buy a MacBook Air M5, but it's out of stock almost everywhere.

The few sellers who claim to have one are quoting the new M5 price with an extra ₹30,000 markup, which doesn't make sense to me.

Has anyone in Kerala (or elsewhere in India) recently managed to buy one at the regular price? Any recommendations for reliable Apple resellers or stores that still have stock?

I'm also open to buying from other states if they can ship, or even a lightly used unit if it's in excellent condition.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Which MacBook should I buy for OCaml/backend development? Budget: ₹1.3L (Open to used Macs too)

Hi everyone,

I'm a computer science student planning to build my career in OCaml and backend development. I'll also be working with tools like Docker, PostgreSQL, APIs, and possibly some virtualization. I want a laptop that will comfortably last me 3–4 years.

My maximum budget is ₹1.30 lakh (INR).

I'm open to:

Buying a brand-new MacBook

Buying a used/refurbished MacBook if it offers significantly better value within my budget

Here are the options I'm currently considering:

MacBook Air M4 (16GB RAM)

MacBook Air M3 (16GB RAM)

MacBook Pro M3

Used MacBook Pro M2 Pro

Used MacBook Pro M1 Pro

Any other recommendation

A few questions:

Which model would you choose for OCaml and backend development?

Is 16GB RAM enough, or should I try to get a used Pro with more RAM?

If buying used, which models are still worth buying in 2026?

Are there any reliability concerns with used Apple Silicon MacBooks?

Are there any "money hacks" for buying a new Mac in India? (Student discounts, cashback offers, gift card promotions, credit card offers, refurbished stores, etc.)

I'd rather buy the best long-term value than simply the newest model.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Recent grad learning OCaml — how do you actually connect with the community / find OCaml roles?

Hey all, recent CS/AI grad here. Got into OCaml a few weeks ago and ended up more hooked than I expected landed two small merged PRs into the stdlib (fixed some doc bugs) and I'm now poking around ocaml.org issues for something bigger.

I'm documenting the journey on LinkedIn/X as I go, but I want to actually plug into the community properly, not just post into the void. A few things I'm trying to figure out:

- Where do OCaml people actually hang out beyond this sub Discord, Discuss, IRC, conferences?

- For someone without prior FP/OCaml experience, what made the difference between "learning the syntax" and getting taken seriously as a contributor?

- Realistically, how do OCaml roles surface job boards, referrals, OSS work turning into offers, something else?

Not looking for a shortcut, just don't want to be doing the wrong things for months without knowing it. Any pointers (or even "here's what worked for me") appreciated.
