I don't know why, but I feel closer to my companions here than in WotR

I tried this game because I thoroughly enjoyed WotR. Currently still in Act 2 doing everything but Kiava Gamma.

But the companions already feels closer to me... Idk why.

Maybe it's the amount of voicelines in combat which occupy a space in my head when I think of them? Making me feel more immersed?

Or maybe better quest reactivity? They chirp a lot I love it.

Or how they have banters/chat in the overworld itself instead of only when resting.

In regards to reactivity, it sure helps that these companions always have something to say due to their positions: Abelard as my right hand man, Idira to divine or assess the situation at hand, Heinrix on some Make Imperium Great Again shit whenever Warp or Xenos stuffs are brought up, Pasqal and the Omnissiah stuffs, and ofc Yrilet on Xenos encounters.

To me it feels like these combines into a bunch of fictional characters that feels closer to me than the ones in WotR.

(Annoying Trope) Member of a group whose design was clearly designed separately

Enamorus (Forces of Nature, Pokemon) - Debuted in PLA, years after the original FoN members debuted in Generation V. She was meant to complement the Therian Forme quartet that's referencing The Four Auspicious Beast that was missing the Genbu counterpart.

Dijiangmon (Four Perils, Digimon) - From what I understand he debuted way earlier than the other perils (who released way later, and released close to each other). Unlike the other 3, who has a rather whimsical designs, Dijiangmon is straight up creepy as hell with all the black bandages, spikes, and creepy arms.

Marsmon (Olympos XII, Digimon) - Now while they're not all designed together in the first place. Marsmon really stood out because he initially wasn't even designed as "Mars/Ares as Digimon" like the others were, his initial name was "Berserkmon". And it shows, where is "Mars/Ares" in him aside from the color red... Why does he have flames?

An oft overlooked foreshadowing — Isshin checking first if he's talking to Kon or Ichigo

When Isshin saved Kon from Arrancarized Grand Fisher at the start of Arrancar Arc, he mentioned how he already know that he's talking to Kon, not Ichigo.

And this panel teased that concept. At the end of the fight with Grand Fisher, Ichigo mourns in front of Masaki's tombstone. Isshin saw "Ichigo" there but he wasn't sure if that's Kon or Ichigo, that's why he paused until he sees the face of the person he's talking to. Confirming that it's Ichigo, he calls him Ichigo proper.

I'm 99% sure that Gotouge wrote Kokushibo due to being SICK of debating Ulquoirra vs Starrk in forums and chatrooms

Yes turns out they also have this kind of debate as us over here. The difference in portrayal for Ulquoirra and Starrk despite their ranks often incites debates, one that never seem to have an end.

So there she is, just like a lot of KnY (Moons itself are Espada), adopts it from Bleach.

Kokushibo is Starrk with unshakable "number 1" portrayal.

"Starrk doesn't feel powerful! Wonderweiss did more than Starrk himself in that fight!" > Kokushibo first move literally took Muichiro's arm off. Muichiro is the same person who low diffed Gyokko (Rank 5).

"Cero master my ass where is his Gran Ray?" > Kokushibo is undoubtedly a Breathing Technique master and he has shitton of forms to use, even using his Blood Demon Art to augment his swordsmanship (his 7th forms and beyond can only be performed w his elongated katana)

"Ulquoirra has Segunda Etapa" > fuck it give Kokushibo a second form as he overcome decapitation and him only

"Starrk didn't kill anyone" > do I need to spell it

Some of the older/archaic characterization are something else

>King Halo - An Uma Musume who is an obstinate young lady. She is not only proud, but also highly jealous. A schemer who will do anything to win. Therefore, she may even forcefully twist and suppress those around her...? However, only a few people know her true feelings.

>Nice Nature - An unfortunately unlucky, commoner-type Uma Musume who keeps losing races by the narrowest of margins. Within Tracen Academy, she is recognized in her own way as a “skilled middle schooler,” but whether because of bad luck or something else, there are many times when she cannot show her true ability. As for herself, she takes a cynical stance like, “Well, that’s just the kind of character I am. Can’t be helped, I guess.” She has a refined personality and is fairly sensible, so she often ends up playing the straight man. Currently always recruiting a rich, handsome boyfriend.

>Manhattan Cafe - An Uma Musume with beautiful, jet-black long hair. At first glance, she has a slightly frightening side, as if you cannot tell what she is thinking, but in truth she is single-mindedly devoted to her trainer. She takes part in races in search of a pleasure she cannot obtain anywhere else. In her own words: “If I had not been born as an Uma Musume, life might have been so boring that I would have become a criminal...” She is actually also active as an actress.

Bro WHAT were they thinking 😭😭😭

I hate how Edgerunners made people forgot what was CDPR promised for Cyberpunk 2077

I love Edgerunners anime, it's pretty good tragic story about how NC burns its legends.

What I don't like is how its existence made people forget what was promised by CDPR regarding Cyberpunk 2077 game — its immersive RPG experience.

Now the term "RPG" is of course subject to the usual debate of "what counts as RPG". But for Cyberpunk 2077 thankfully we get promised that define what CDPR claimed to be "deep immersive RPG":

https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/s/vm3XesTAKc

Besides the game is supposedly inspired by a TTRPG that lets you do just that, RP as a guy living in NC.

The premise seems pretty simple, a 3D open world game that has such a deep role-playing you thought it's a CRPG, kinda like Fallout New Vegas if you will.

But we didn't get that, no. What we got is a game whose RP is closer to NBA 2K MyCareer than it is to Skyrim. Stats and builds with some dialogue choices here and there.

Aside from select few gigs (Maelstorm in the prologue, Sinnerman, saving Takemura, the ending, etc) the game is pretty damn linear. Your Lifepath only matters for the prologue and some "[Nomad] I live in cars" dialogue that doesn't really change the outcome.

The Night City itself is fucking dead. You can't "interact" with the world. The civilian NPCs are literal drone (that info scan gimmick is literally nothingburger) you can't even interact with, even Bully (2006) allows you to taunt/praise the civilians. There's barely any activities aside from, what, boxing and street racing (with its terrible controls). Like I initially want to compare it to GTA but GTA V has a lot of pastime activities for one.

And the level design. "You can approach combat however you want" and it's mostly just one more vent to slip into. Most of it is just choosing between guns blazing vs stealth, in a very linear way. I've seen ppl compare this to Deus Ex and they're crazy I say.

The enemies. For such a colorful bunch w their lore and with the amazing skill tree we got due from 2.0 Update... They fucking suck in terms of variety, they blend into each other. Sure there's a bit of commonality with some gangs like Animals have a lot of muscle bruiser or Tygers use katana and pistol... But these doesn't meaningfully change how you fight them. Biggest crime is VDB fighting near similarly to fucking larpers in 6th Street. Citing Bully (2006) again, every cliques there fight uniquely. Like the Nerds in Bully sucks in hand to hand, so they rely on their inventions (or some who are pretty good at wrestling, wrestles). Or the Preppies fight with various martial arts and can dodge your attacks while spamming eggs. Or the Jocks being the toughest enemy in the school with their HP bar and effective fighting style related to sports (using baseball bat bc they're playing baseball, charging tackle bc they play football, etc).

And to cap this off, you can even look at CDPR marketing team themselves lol. Their Twitter handle removed the phrase "role playing game" in June 2019, coinciding with them being listed in game stores. And they quietly changed their Steam description in February 2022 to add back the "RPG" (spoilers, they're still not that far off in terms of RP compared to version 1.0).

Kishimoto DID plan Itachi's twist, meticulously even. He just fucks up the most important and easiest thing ever, ironically

In the beginning, Chapter 7, we're already hinted about Sasuke remembering someone crying.

Then in Chapter 127, we're given the first insight into the Uchiha Massacre. Silhouette of Itachi looking over his RIGHT shoulder.

However during the actual deep dive of Sasuke's past (Chapter 225) we actually NEVER see the scene in Chapter 127. In fact Kishimoto put a misdirection with a similar scene of Itachi looking over his LEFT shoulder instead (and no headband shown) and this knocked Sasuke unconscious from shock, implying this is where the flashback ends.

There's also funny powerscaling angle. In Chapter 140 before Itachi's proper appearance, we have Orochimaru admitting that Itachi is stronger than him. Yet in Chapter 144, Itachi claims that the Sannin are stronger than him. This scene goes over the head of so many people.

And of course the scene in Chapter 127 is properly revealed after Sasuke remembers the whole thing after Obito jogged his memory. Sasuke wasn't knocked out as Chapter 225 implied, he got up and chased Itachi, knocking his headband and saw him crying as per the hints of Chapter 7 & 127.

Now this is all are rather well thought out foreshadowing and build up..... The problem is mainly is that Itachi is too brutal w Sasuke when they reunite, made him relieve the night of the massacre with Tsukuyomi really? So much that people believe that the whole thing is a retcon lmfao.

Between InZOI and Paralives, which one has the Sim that behaves the closest to Sims 3?

While everyone is busy gushing about Sims 3's open world, I find myself attracted to their Trait system more.

In Sims 3, I find Traits give Sims personality/character like never before. From naturally being able to fight burglars to straight up unable to die from anything but old age bc Death himself finds their suffering entertaining. 5 of these Traits and your Sims have so much character in them, some of these can even interact within the Sims themselves (Workaholic cancels Family Oriented desire to quit their job after a newborn) affect the behavior of your Sims with others (Good Sims will dislike Evil or Mean Spirited Sims).

For the most part, no, the Sims 4 wholly failed this Trait system implementation, probably due to it originally being designed as an online game.

And so I ask, between Paralives and InZOI, which one of their "Sim" is as rich as Sim 3's in term of characters?

Is there an Uma you like the IRL horse more than their Umamusume self?

(Unrelated pic of Orfevre)

It's pretty much how I feel about Kitasan Black. I like her Umamusume design but her personality and her career doesn't really move me.

But her IRL horsie? Harem king jokes aside, it's fascinating from what I read.

He was a horse bred in a small ranch that was purchased by Saburo **Kita**jima (who is known for his horse owner activities mainly helping smaller farms) because of his tall and handsome looks.

His pedigree was dubious, Grandsire Sunday Silence? That's cool everyone else does and even came from Deep Impact HIMself, Kitasan Black came from Black Tide, Deep Impact's less successful older brother both in career and stud. His grandsire was freaking Sakura Bakushin O.

Compare this to his genmate Duramente who is basically the endgame of the late Zenya Yoshida, the masterpiece of Shadai. Legit he's only missing Brian's Time in his blood. A true royalty.... Versus a pauper like him?

.... And they doubted him for that. They doubted his stamina bc of Bakushin blood in him. Even Kitajima was notably angry at all these doubters after KB's bad Derby result.

But he proved them all wrong. One of the greatest Stayer in JRA history *despite the Bakushin blood*. All while he has such a heavy body that is generally seen as unfavorable for Stayers (which is also something Mejiro McQueen is known for). Hell he still held the Tenno Sho Spring record to this day and one of the few horses who won both Tenno Sho. And ended his career with 7 G1 wins with a triumphant victory in Arima Kinen.

"This is how a man makes his exit!"

But he doesn't stop there.

Apparently even if he himself a successful horse, that doesn't mean he will produce great horses right? After all his pedigree looks bad...

Equinox in his first fucking crop. Sure he's not as consistent as Duramente but jfc he made this demon. And then as we see from CDN, Sol Oriens, late Skilfing (RIP my baby), Gaia Force, etc he's a great stud too for some reason.

The career and the anime kinda touched this whole bloodline thing but it doesn't really land due to Umamusume setting (duh) and therefore doesn't have the same amazement.
