Almost 1 year to date

Ended up having a leaf issue with a big ol leaf back in August 2025 with this Silver Blue. Took a cutting from the leaf and after nearly 365 days, it finally produced a pup. Crazy long, but worth the wait. 2nd image is from 2025 when it was first propagated.

This Took Forever…

…But worth the wait.

This Sawasdee took a hit from a scale attack this past winter. It was so badly infected, systemics couldn’t seem to root them out. Finally made the decision to try to leaf propagate them. All the leaves rotted (until I figured out the magic with Jacks gritty mix) but one. Now, after 7 months, the first pups are coming. I’m not sure what to expect when leaf propagating a Sawasdee, so this will be interesting. Last photo was pre-scale last summer.

The Monster Arrived today

Got this Bhitalae ‘Silver’ in the mail today from Arid Lands. Worth the wait. Robert Webb delivers yet again. The ultimate snake plant (and ultimate slow grower), this thing is a beast. Stands 55” from the soil line. Rootball was a little smaller than I’d like, but we’ll start the game of getting the thing to establish itself here. Actually replacing a palm that just started getting a little too big (wide), so this should fit the bill nicely. This thing is beautiful.

My Big Fellas…

1-2: Excelsa (8” h x9” w)
3-4: Batesiana x Armstrongii (4” h x 6” w)
5-6: Excelsa Hybrid (5.5” h x 8.5 w)
7: All 3 of my big guys
8-9: D Tiga (6” h x 8” w)

Chonky dudes….love em.

I collect a lot of sansevieria, but finding I really like gasteria. These guys just do their thing and don’t ask for much.

Braided Money Tree Woes?

Question. I just purchased this 5’ tall money tree for good $$ and noticed when it arrived that this beautifully braided tree has cut tops. Is this standard in the industry, or did I just get screwed over?

Marsha Anjani perhaps?

Went to Home Depot to pick up some Milorganite and stumbled across this big guy for $6. Didn’t go looking for it, but a good price for such a big guy. Doesn’t matter what it is, really, but just seeing if someone has an aha moment.

Taking a road trip to Knoxville, TN this weekend…

Might have some time on my hands to burn. Anyone know of any good places to go in Knoxville for sansevieria shopping to find something unusual. Image is unrelated…just something to look at.

For those of you who have the Sans Pyramid, any ideas on mature size?

I didn’t really want one, but I didn’t have one and they were inexpensive at the local grocer… I picked one up for the heck of it. Any images of a mature one of these? Would be interested if you have any pics of your pyramids to post.

Sinus Simiorum R979

For those of you who like to collect different varieties of Sansevieria, highly recommend the Sinus Simiorum R979. This boy is meaty. Very architectural. You won’t regret.
