Is ONP going to take KAP’s seats?

Given:

- Bob Katter’s dad started out in the ALP and only left during the 1950s split in QLD.

- Katter himself left the National party because it had become too close to the Liberal party.

- The mining division of the CFMMEU funds the KAP

- The Labor Party was originally a rural country party

Does Ireland use its historical diaspora for soft power diplomacy?

For example the current Prime Ministers of: UK, Canada, Australia, & New Zealand all have Irish Heritage (they were also all raised Catholic).

That is a pretty unique situation that not many other nations would also share.

In the Australian context, Irish heritage has had a longterm association with progressive politics and the Labour movement - because of the significant number of Irish political prisoners who were sent to Australia as convicts.
