Should i got Focus first or JP Boost on my Squires?. Focus cost 300 and JP Boost cost 250.

So i used smogon and tried to catch and use top tier speed and attackers whether physical or special and i always lost either getting one shot or still outsped. I think the key to expert and insane is bulk builds. Your most likey going to get one shot or outsped and get fainted on the second round so im thinking just catching all bulky pokemon and do bulk EV's and Natures. Seems to be the only way. I think it's more about surviving hits rather trying to instally K'O gym leaders pokemon. Am i wrong ?

I feel like all the GYM leader pokemon stats are on another level powerful. Even when i have EV's maxed, really good IV's and trying to use the weakness i still get one shotted or my attacks doesn't damage their pokemon much.

I wonder if anyone knows on expert do gym leaders have perfect IV's and maybe like a 15% boost cheat to all stats. Because i know on insane they have cheats. They hit way harder than they should and don't take damage from attacks. I just want to know if they are cheating.

Playing on expert i just beat my first two badges and i like the game so far the only thing i have a problem with is the first 3 badges. Every major battle trainer has max EV and max IV pokemon while you dont get access to that until almost badge 3 so it can take days trying to compare to the competition your facing you pretty much have to cheese because your out classed. The berries for ev training isnt available and neither is the dexnav so you fighting a uphill battle. I would think it would make more sense to have access from jump so you can atleast compete without save scumming. Seems like its intended for newgame + where you start with that stuff.

There arent many phys/elem attack debuffers in the game. I have units who can debuff one or the other and for like 2 rounds. Only good one and easy to get is Viola but she is not AOE. There are tons and tons of buffers and defense debuffers but not many attack debuffers.

I dont really use pets and things like that so i dont see the hype. The damage cap is good but most good units have that or a accessory. So im trying to understand the hype and should waste my rubies on someone when i dont care for the litte buff like +5% physical attack pets provide lol
