richmondbizsense.comCongratulations to Kelsey Bagot, former attorney for Florida-based NextEra Energy, on becoming head of the Virginia utility State Corporation Commission (SCC)!
This is 6 months late since it happened back in Februrary, but I think congratulations are in order!
For extra context, Ms. Bagot, as chair, and her two fellow commissioners, will soon be deciding whether her former employer (NextEra Energy) and Dominion Energy will be allowed to combine. Everyone, let's give a round of applause! Go, Kelsey!

richmondbizsense.comCross-court battle in doubles: what do you do?
Strategy question here. Sometimes when I'm playing in doubles I'll get in to a cross-court battle where my opponent and I are hitting it back at each other very hard and deep, and there's very little time to think, so I naturally just keep hitting it cross court as the safe play. Is there something else I should be doing? Or just keep hitting it hard and hope the opponent makes a mistake? Should my partner at the net poach?

henricocitizen.comIs hiring frozen at the Richmond Federal Reserve?
Related to software engineering roles. Just wondering because I had applied to the Richmond Federal Reserve a while back, made good progress, and then was basically ghosted a couple months ago and the role/application is still open.
Then recently a contracting firm contacted me hiring for a contract role at the Fed and mentioned there was a hiring freeze there for fulltime employees.
Wondering if anyone has the inside scoop. Maybe the new chair came in and put a pause on things?
