Tucson Dems make some wins in compromise State Budget

Hi all, Mike had a chance to interview Tucson Politicians State Senator Priya Sundareshan and State Rep Nancy Gutierrez of LD18. They discussed how the initial GOP budget would have resulted in massive cuts to SNAP, Medicaid, and other important state programs. They also discuss the ballot initiatives the GOP are sending from the state legislature to voters to by pass Governor Hobb's Veto.

How best to stay up to date on the oil crisis?

Are there any good sources on the economic impacts (mainly to the US) due to the oil crisis.

I’d like to be informed on how high gas could get in the US, effects on airplane tickets, food impacts (via fertilizer), etc.

I’d also love to hear your own thoughts on the crisis.

Much appreciated.

Advice for how to move my career forward?

I have been a FA for 4 years and in promotion limbo ("next next"), can anyone provide me advice on how to advance my career? Any skills/programs I should learn? I've applied to other FP&A jobs and only gotten 1 interview out of 70 apps. Feel free to suggest resume advice as well.
Also feel free to suggest any other career/job, even outside of Finance, that I might be able to pivot into.

What sort of jobs could one get with a Phd in Economics?

I'm considering pursuing a Phd in Economics, I have a bachelors in Economics as well. My career is in Financial Analyst, but it's not my ideal job. I'm looking for something that focuses more on causal relationships, than budget forecasts and actual analysis.

My support structure is questioning my decision to enter a phd program as they claim that it'd be stuck with limited options for my career, and most likely end up in academia.

So I'd appreciate any feedback on what jobs (and their salaries) I could potentially attain, what skills i'd need to obtain as well (e.g. coding languages or programs learned).

Lastly, is it possible to shadow anyone with such jobs? Do companies' HR allow individuals interested to shadow their employees (virtually or in person)?

Let others know that voters don't get a say in the state budget! The GOP use our taxes as their slush fund.

For mods: yes this is my own content.

Andrew here, honestly confused as to why Nanos created such a deep hole for himself. I do have a minor fear that the public may see this as "Dems are bad Sheriffs" instead of "Nanos is a bad Sheriff." Which could result in a republican being Sheriff making problems even worse.
