Song Discussion (Day 31) Milk Of Human Kindness

Song Discussion (Day 31) Milk Of Human Kindness

I have a feeling that this song and another one (coming soon) will be setlist ghosts for the most part and probably the most rare songs if they decide to play them live again. Chilling song to say the least but my least favorite on the album. Me and my wife have fun saying ICE CREAM... ICE CREAM.

Song Discussion (Day 30) Masc

To be honest I didn't like this one on release but ended up liking it more and more until seeing it performed live, ended up loving it after that. This is their most nu metal song imo

Song Discussion (Day 29) The New World

The heaviest song until PEN I S MALL dropped. I'm stunned that I got to see this one played live twice where Raygun sounds even more animalistic

Song Discussion (Day 28) Tape

On my first play through of Cool World: Tape and Funny Man were my favorite songs before Camcorder grew on me. I love the bridge in this song so much. Chat Pile has some of the best one liners ever.

IT WAS THE WORST, I EVER SAW

Song Discussion (Day 27) Camcorder

Slow and menacing.. just how I like it! Funny enough I think this might be my favorite song off of Cool World and probably their discography only 2nd to Tenkiller. Both slower songs but doom-like and catchy. Raygun kills it on vocals, Stin's bass tone is so intense on this track and just perfect all over

Song Discussion (day 26) Funny Man

I'm sorry I actually missed yesterday because I was so out of it and it's been a tough time at work.

My most anticipated song from the band, the guitar riff feels like a delusional dark circus and the opening verse where Raygun comes in "I BROKE MY KNEES ON THE PEARL AND ONYX" is peak Chat Pile. They were playing this one for a year live before the studio version even came out. A favorite for sure

Song Discussion (day 24) Shame

I put Cool World on play as soon as it dropped at midnight- I didn't skip any of the singles that I heard already, I let the whole album play through and this was so good that it was the first one I went back to after. This isn't my favorite on the album but hearing the chorus for the first time made me realize the flexibility of the band and to expect anything, a beautiful song chorus with very dark themes written during a time where the most disgusting things in history are happening right now. Fantastic song

Song Discussion (Day 23) I Am Dog Now

Cool World!!!

I was dying in wait for the first single from Cool World to drop and when it finally did, I ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. To be completely honest, I didn't like the mixing at first and even today I think the mixing is still a little bit off, particularly the drums but that does not keep me from loving this song. The ending is perfection

Song Discussion (Day 21) King

This is one that hit pretty close with me, I went through a depressive phase around 2021 where I spent every day on and off the clock drinking. I remember one summer week where I ended up drinking every single day and reading almost every story by HP Lovecraft outside on my steps chain smoking shortly after the sun came up. Life was going on around me: people walking their dogs and jogging- I'm there getting drunk and reading books in the afternoon.

Song Discussion (Day 20) Lake Time

This should always be the first song you show your friends when introducing them to Chat Pile.

Has anyone watched the movie Tenkiller? I enjoyed it, I'm looking forward to the next project Raygun is in, also hoping there's another Chat Pile music score attached to it

Song Discussion (Day 19) Tenkiller

This right here is my favorite Chat Pile song. My favorite vocal performance from Raygun and it's just perfect to me in every way. One song I'll never get tired of,

It's just my big clumsy touch!

Song Discussion (Day 18) grimace_smoking_weed_jpegmafia

This! This one right here is a monster of a track, quite literally! Very reminiscent of Korn both in the instrumental and feeling like a phantom the structure of Korn's first album where Jonathan Davis broke down on the final track "Daddy"— Raygun also has a mental breakdown and sounds like he's on the other side of my speaker every time I listen to it

Song Discussion (Day 16) The Mask

The 2nd entry in the mask series that confused me when I found out there was another song just called "Mask". My personal favorite of the Mask songs, honestly tied with "Masc" on the album after this. I have to agree with The Needle Drop on this one: Raygun has a little too much conviction in his voice when he yells LINE UP THE ANIMALS, almost to an uncomfortable extent. I see this as another strong theatrical performance here along with Anywhere, Dallas Beltway and Crawlspace- this is what the end of what an every day man sounds like and the start of a mental breakdown there'll take it too far where every day won't be the same, if there is another day to be seen after this.. goddamn dust in his eyes for the rest of his life

Song Discussion (Day 15) Tropical Beaches, Inc

For some reason I thought he was saying "New strategies, New Strategists!" Lol beside the misheard lyrics. This is their most played song live I believe and it's a fun one!

Song Discussion (Day 14) Anywhere

Sorry I'm a little late on this. I loved this song a lot more when it was released but as time went on, I tend to skip it. Something about the repetitiveness of the guitar work here just got to me after awhile. Don't get me wrong, I still like this song a whole lot and personally love the chorus and verses that perfectly capture the subject matter from the point of view of someone ANYONE that unfortunately happens to be there when these awful tragedies abruptly occur...

Just as a song though, I have grown more tired of this than others and that is on me.

What do y'all think?

Song Discussion (Day 13) Wicked Puppet Dance

I don't have much to say on this one but I absolutely love it. I love the echo effect a whole lot and it feels sick as expected. One of my favorite lines in this song "tried to fuck me, call me a liar so I shot him in the head, set the house on fire"
